Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix-Chapter 947: Masterpiece
After improving the devices a bit and changing their design, Rain finally stopped with the experiments. The core of each device consisted of a small, ornate sphere, about the size of a clenched fist, with intricate engravings and runic symbols that glowed softly with magical energy in order to amplify the speed of the wind.
Embedded within the sphere were several shimmering, interlocking gears, all finely tuned to facilitate the transmission of the mana.
Extending from the sphere were slender, spiral-like antennae fashioned from thin filaments that seemed to oscillate gently, emitting a faint glow. These antennae coiled around the sphere in an almost helical pattern, pulsating softly as they channeled magical energy.
To make things as efficient as possible, Rain gave one to Liss and the other to Isa. They were the best wind mages of both groups, after all. Even if it was only a bit, it should make things more efficient.
"One problem solved, what next?" Rain asked. "Bring me more problems. Guess who is back? Back again. Rain is back. Tell a friend, guess who is back?
Guess who is back? Guess who is back? Guess who is back?"
Rain was getting carried away, he had a good reason to be in a good mood, but not that much. As such, hs soon regretted his words when Branden and Esmeralda came to him with a problem, just like he had asked.
"We want to talk to you about plan B, in case we have to run away," Branden said. "We will need another moving base, right?"
"Yes… they also will have to take everyone from the other camps, at least the ones who will want to escape," Rain rubbed his chin thoughtfully.
"There are also things about how water, food, and the places that we will use," Esmeralda added. "Who will control all of that if we die? I can see you sacrificing yourself again to buy us time to escape. Or do you plan to return after one hundred years again?"
"No, I want to return in fifty years in the worst-case scenario," Rain replied. "That still will be difficult since the whole world would have turned into a giant snowball. If anything happens, I will leave the instructions behind for everything that I have come up with. Thanks to the power of the magic circles, this will be a lot easier."
Rain embarked on the task of writing down comprehensive instructions for the functioning of the proposed large-scale escape plan, comparable to a giant escape pod. He aimed to ensure that whoever eventually took charge of this plan, as long as they possessed a functional intellect and some proficiency in magic skills, could execute it effectively.
Understanding the significance of this task, Rain wanted a successor whom he trusted and who was close to him, should anything happen to him. This successor, ideally someone well-acquainted with Rain’s thoughts, plans, and motivations, could step in to continue where Rain left off, ensuring the seamless continuation of the escape plan.
In a moment of deep thinking, Rain couldn’t shake the idea that the system used similar things to create the second layer of the world. This realization hinted at potential parallels between the methodology Isa’s friend had learned and the system Rain was currently devising, despite the belief that Isa’s friend had learned about this technique only after the second layer had been completed.
This intriguing thought prompted Rain to ponder the deeper workings and origins of this system even more… it was as troublesome as it was interesting.
In the end, Rain finished the magic circle after six hours. The final result surprised even Isa… it wasn’t a magic circle, it was magic sphere that would be the core of the new world… the world that they would use to escape.
It was only the size of an adult man, but it had enough scriptions on it for the user to control all aspects of it, from expansion to the creation of resources at the cost of mana.
The Magic Scrice Path leveled up.

Rain’s latest creation granted him twenty levels on the magic scribe’s path and just like he had imagined, he didn’t unlock a new path, but he was fine with that. He gained a hude deal in dexterity and intelligence in just a few days, after all… now they just had to fight for their planet once more.
After two days, everyone was ready to move… Rain left the core of the plan B on the hands of his grandparents that would stay behind while most of the others would go to fight the dragons.
"You understand things now?" Isa asked. "Because of this path, we were able to drive off the dragons, but they had threet thousand years to think of a way to fight us despite that. This isn’t a perfect technique, far from it, in fact."
"Well, it is fine…" Rain said and then thought. "Because I am the one who knows the true limits of this power… and the dragon god as well."
