Infinite Regeneration In The Apocalypse-Chapter 52: Evolutionary Meal
Vogue had almost forgotten about this best friend of his. She had deep violet hair that cascaded down her broad shoulders, ocean-blue eyes that sparkled with mischief, and an extremely beautiful and alluring face that rivaled Gloria’s beauty.
But what made her stand out wasn’t her beauty but her enormous, powerful body.
She wasn’t called the Iron Lady because of her temperament or personality.
It was because of her frame!
-----
Greta Valeria had been childhood friends with Vogue way before his parents were killed by the beast horde that attacked the outer districts.
While the Valeria family wasn’t amongst the top families within the Third Ring like the Wynters, Hollands, or Sterlings, they were still considered wealthy compared to other families as they dealt in the Sun-fiend commercial business.
They bought Sun-fiend materials from Stellar Knights who hunted these creatures, processed them with special techniques and turned them into nutritious food called Evolution Meals that could strengthen the body over time.
The meat of Sun-fiends contained various viruses and radiation that not even extreme heat could kill because they were sun-infected creatures that thrived under the suns.
Without proper preparation and treatment, these meats could actually contaminate someone, slowly transforming them into Radiants, mindless creatures that starve for human flesh.
But when properly prepared these meals could increase the physical strength of the consumer and also provide various benefits to the body.
The Valeria family owned at least seven restaurants in the Third Ring alone. They were even planning to expand to the Second Ring, which would elevate their family’s status considerably.
Greta had been eating such meals since she was born, practically raised on Evolution Meals instead of normal food. Over time, her strength increased dramatically, making her easily evolve her cells to 100% before most of her classmates had even reached 50%.
However, it also increased her body size substantially. Right now, she was thrice the size of Vogue with muscular thighs that could squeeze a man’s skull to pieces like a watermelon.
However, it also increased her body size. Right now, she was thrice the size of Vogue with muscular thighs that could squeeze a man’s skull to pieces.
She wasn’t considered fat but she was no where near thin either. She could be said to be thick.
Greta smiled brightly as she hooked her massive hand around Vogue’s neck in a friendly headlock and ruffled his dark hair affectionately.
She was even a few inches taller than he was, towering over him like a protective older sister despite being the same age.
"Hmph! If it weren’t for my parents locking me up at home and forcing me to train with those boring instructors they hired, I would have come to meet you earlier!"
She mouth morphed to a pout.
"It’s been a whole week since we last spoke properly. Is Gerald and his lackeys still disturbing you with his?"
She immediately waved her massive fist in the air, making a few nearby students take a few step back.
"Hmph! That spoiled kid has no idea what real fear is! I should teach him a lesson one of these days! What about your evolved cells? How many do you have now? Don’t worry too much about the Trial, okay? You’re like a cockroach, even harder to kill than a cockroach! You always survive somehow!"
Greta immediately laughed out loud as she patted her belly when she visualized the scene.
Vogue was still lost for words and deeply embarrassed at being carried around by a girl before everyone in the packed stadium.
Students were already staring and whispering, probably making jokes at his expense. The moment he heard her cockroach comment, his face burned hot with shame.
"G-Greta, shhh! You’re being way too loud!" Vogue stammered through gritted teeth.
"Everyone can hear you!"
He grabbed her thick wrist with his hand and much to Greta’s surprise, he actually managed to drag her without much effort toward the stadium’s locker room area.
When they got to the locker, Levi sighed deeply and glanced at this best friend of his with mixed feelings.
He didn’t know what to make of her sometimes. She was shameless, not afraid to say exactly what was on her mind and she was also carefree. She had taken care of the previous Vogue when no one else would and made sure he at least ate steadily even when he had no money.
Greta was the primary reason the original body had managed to evolve 12 percent of his cells in the first place.
She had secretly fed him expensive Evolution Meals meant for herself, sharing her family’s premium products and making him gain substantial evolved cells over the years.
Without her help, the original Vogue would probably only have 5% evolved cells at best.
At this moment, Greta was staring down at him with wide eye. "Y-You... your strength."
She stammered as she stared at him with unblinking eyes.
Vogue rolled his eyes. "I’ve improved quite a bit through the week you’ve been gone training."
Greta silently stared at him for a long moment before she suddenly burst out into laughter that echoed through the locker room. "Hahahaha! Who dares call you trash now? How I desperately wish to see Gerald’s stupid face when he realizes your true strength! He’s going to choke on his own arrogance!"
Her expression shifted to serious curiosity as she leaned closer. "Tell me honestly, you should have unlocked at least 80 percent of your cells now, right? Maybe even more?" She stared intently at Vogue, her ocean-blue eyes searching his face for the truth.
Vogue paused for a long while before nodding his head slightly, deciding honesty was best. There was no real need to lie to her in the first place. She was the only person truly close to him in this world, and since he wasn’t telling her any of his deepest secrets or trump cards, it was perfectly fine if she knew he had awakened 80 percent of his cells.
