Chapter 64: Meeting Another Player!

"Bang!"

His foot connected with a sound like a hammer striking an anvil, and the creature’s head snapped to the side. But it barely fazed it as it swiped its claw at Vogue, opening four deep gashes that’s spilled his intestine to the ground.

Vogue sliced off his dangling intestines making his flesh seal up an his sliced up

Intestine healed from the inside.

"Bang!"

The Savage Radiant suddenly tranfoemed inro a black blur with speed and lunged forward with its jaws open wide, aiming to bite off Vogue’s face. Vogue shifted his head, letting the Savage Radiant take a big chomp of his shoulder and half of his neck.

"Chomp!" "Crunch!" "Crunch!"

Blood splattered into the body of the Radiant who had climbed his body and dug claws deep inside his body to hold him still. Crunching sounds echoed as it crushes Vogue’s shoulder with its teeth and swallowed.

At the same time, there was a squelch sound as Vogue’s blade stabbed into the heart of the beast. Its body trembled and in the next second, strength left its body as it fell on Vogue’s body.

The Savage Radiant’s body convulsed once, twice, and then went still. The golden glow faded from its eyes, replaced by the dull lifelessness of true death. Its flesh began turning a dull gray color, the corruption leaving its body now that the heart was destroyed.

Seeing the message Vogue’s eyes narrowed into slits. Savage Radiants actually gives 100

times the points normal radiants give. If he could kill 1000 of those, then the ultimate evolution wouldn’t be a dream.

"Well, that changes things," Vogue said, breathing heavily as he stood over the corpse.

Steam poured off him from the exertion and heat of Black Sun, making him look like a demon standing in the wreckage of the food court.

He deactivated Black Sun, his skin returning to its normal color as the crimson flush faded and he deactivated dragon might also.

Vogue created more clones to replace the ones that had died and sent them out to continue clearing the mall. He himself headed back toward the bookstore to finish his manga and continued what he was doing.

It took the entire day, but eventually, the mall was completely cleared. Every radiant, humans as well as Sunfiends had been eliminated.

[Radiants Eliminated: 740/1000- Normal Evolution Available]

Vogue whistled tunelessly as he walked out of the mall, munching on a bag of spicy cheese puffs he’d grabbed from a shattered vending machine. The sun had fully set now, the city plunged into darkness broken only by scattered wild fire burning at various parts of the city.

Just as Vogue was crossing 6th Avenue, heading toward Herald Square, he suddenly passed as he raised his head up.

There was someone on the street lamp a few meters away from him.

It was dark, but Vogue could see perfectly.

It was a beautiful dark-skinned young woman with striking blue eyes that seemed to glow faintly in the darkness. She had violet and brown hair tied back in a ponytail, and a massive greatsword resting on her shoulder.

She crouched on the pole like a car as she stared at Vogue.

"You’re also a player in this world, right?" she asked, her sweet voice carrying an accent he couldn’t quite place.

Vogue glanced at her and smiled. "You’re really thick."

And in fact, she really was. The woman had an athletic build with curves that were in the right places. It didn’t seem she earned those at the gym but was born with them.

The young woman was taken aback and giggled, a sound like wind chimes, but killing intent flashed through her eyes as her expression changed drastically.

"Do you know there’s a side quest for killing fellow players? When you get to the underworld, ask your ancestors why they didn’t teach you how to speak with a lady properly."

Vogue was genuinely stunned for a moment before he shook his head. "I kind of figured it out. But now I’m certain, thanks for confirming. As for meeting my ancestors, you’re not worthy of sending me to them yet."

For the system to make them killing each other a side quest made perfect sense once he thought about it. This was a fight to the death game from the beginning. The Omnibus System wanted pure violence.

Vogue continued. "Tell me something. If the goal of this trial is for one person to survive, what’s the use of killing radiants when you can just save your strength, bide your time, and come out at the last moment to eliminate the weakened survivors?"

The woman frowned at Vogue’s thoughtful silence. "Weren’t you taught in your school? Once you gather enough side quest points, you can offset the punishment for failing the main quest. You can literally fail to be the last survivor and still pass the trial if you have enough points."

Her face turned impatient at his contemplative expression. "Enough talking. Just die.!"

Suddenly she took a step forward from the lamp pole. But instead of falling, she stepped on the air itself as if there were invisible stairs. The air solidified under her foot with a faint ripple.

She vanished from that position and reappeared directly above Vogue in mid-air, her massive greatsword slashing downwards with the force of a falling meteor.

"BOOM!"

The asphalt underneath Vogue’s feet exploded outward like a grenade had detonated, chunks of pavement flying in all directions. He had crossed both of his machetes in an X-block above his head just in time to catch the descending blade.

The impact created a shockwave that shattered windows in nearby buildings and set off car alarms.

The woman flipped backward through the air, creating distance between them as she landed fifty meters away.
