Chapter 76: Clone Jump!

Then, a single severed finger dropped to the ground.

It landed on the cracked floor with a barely audible tap, rolling once before coming to rest against a piece of fallen debris. It was small, completely ordinary looking. Just a finger, nothing more.

But then it twitched.

The severed finger began growing immediately. Bone extended from the base first, forming a skeletal framework that shot outward in rapid bursts. Muscle fibers wrapped around the bone like threads being spun at incredible speed. Tendons attached. Veins formed and began pulsing with blood that materialized from nothing.

Within five seconds, a hand had formed. Within ten, an arm. Within twenty, a full torso was taking shape, vertebrae forming one by one down the spine with quiet clicking sounds.

The regeneration continued at a furious pace. Ribs grew outward in pairs. A ribcage formed and filled with organs that materialized seamlessly into existence. Legs grew from the hips, each bone snapping into place before the next formed. Muscles wrapped around the skeleton, thick and powerful.

A head grew from the top of the spine. A skull formed first, bone plates knitting together at the seams. Then flesh covered it, skin stretched over the surface, and hair sprouted from the scalp in a sudden burst of red silver strands.

Within one minute, a completely naked young man was standing in the destroyed room.

He was Vogue’s clone.

The clone clenched its fist experimentally, opening and closing the fingers. It checked its hands, turned them over, flexed the wrist. It looked down at its own body, running its hands along its torso, checking for any damage or irregularities. Everything felt complete. Everything felt right.

The clone whistled casually, a cheerful tune that echoed through the ruined room.

"Really overpowered," it said with a satisfied grin, shaking its head in amusement.

It turned out that in the split second before everything had gone wrong, before the old man’s phantom had touched his skull the first time and sent the destructive beam through his body, Vogue had made a decision that would save his existence entirely.

He had used his Pain Points to upgrade his system.

Two new abilities had been purchased and activated in that critical moment.

[System Ability Unlocked: Clone Jump]

[Description: When a clone is activated through Clone Jump, it inherits all memories, abilities, techniques, and current state of the main body up to the exact moment of activation. The clone becomes the new main body. Clone Jump can only be activated once every 24 hours.]

[System Function Unlocked: Beast Storage]

[Description: Allows the user to store captured or defeated creatures within the system’s storage space. Stored creatures remain in a state of suspended animation.] 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂

Clone Jump was the real game changer. It allowed Vogue to essentially transfer his consciousness and everything that made him who he was into a freshly created clone. If the main body died, the clone became the new main body. It was insurance against permanent death.

Beast Storage was equally valuable for future use, allowing him to capture creatures and store them for later.

In that split second, the exact moment the old man’s finger touched his head and the destructive beam of solar energy began tearing through his skull, Vogue had activated Time Warp: Reversal.

Time began flowing backward around him. The beam of destructive energy that had already started burning through his head began to reverse its path, the light flowing backward and returning toward its source, the old man’s finger.

For one precious millisecond, Vogue had successfully reversed the attack. The destructive beam was flowing back into the phantom’s finger like water being sucked down a drain.

But in the very next millisecond, the old man’s aura erupted. The phantom figure, ancient and experienced beyond measure, had immediately recognized what was happening. He had felt time itself trying to reverse around him and understood the technique instantly.

With a single pulse of overwhelming solar energy, he shattered the Time Reversal barrier completely. The temporal force that had been pulling the beam backward crumbled like wet paper, and the beam surged forward again with ferocity, destroying what remained of Vogue’s head completely.

But that single millisecond of reversal had been enough.

In that tiny window of time that Vogue had bought for himself, while the beam was momentarily flowing backward and before the old man shattered his time barrier, Vogue had moved with desperate speed. His right hand, still barely functional, brought his thumb across his own index finger.

The sharp nail of his thumb, hardened by his dragon physique, sliced cleanly through the index finger of his left hand. The severed finger separated from his body and fell.

In that exact same instant, Vogue activated two abilities simultaneously. Clone ability, which would cause the severed finger to grow into a full copy of himself. And Clone Jump, which would transfer everything, his consciousness, his memories, his soul, his identity, into that newly created clone the moment it finished forming.

The original Vogue’s head was destroyed a millisecond later by the old man’s beam. His body, already mostly destroyed from the first attack, was now completely lifeless. Just scattered remains of flesh and ash that meant nothing.

But the finger had already fallen.

And from that finger, a new Vogue had been born.

The clone that now stood in the ruined room was no longer truly a clone. Through Clone Jump, it had become the real Vogue. Every memory, every technique, every piece of knowledge and experience that the original possessed was now fully present in this body.

He was Vogue Morningster. And he was very much alive.

The new Vogue stretched his arms above his head and cracked his neck, a look of casual amusement on his face as he surveyed the destruction around him.

"Well." Muttered as he picked up the enhanced Nevulium machete that had somehow survived the chaos, still lying where it had fallen on the bed. "That was fun."

He grabbed a piece of torn cloth from the destroyed sofa and wrapped it around his waist to cover himself. Then he walked toward the broken window and looked out at the dark city.

Vogue smiled.

"Let’s see how long she can survive me," His chuckle echoed in the empty room.

But people who knew him would know he was truly furious at this moment as he was extenelr close to death!
