Information to Mastery: Points Store System-Chapter 258: Types of Abilities

The system store had a lot of items, making it impossible for Michael to be able to go through all of them. That was why he had to apply the filters every time that he wanted something.

Even though the items in the system store had been categorized in different categories, the number of items was still high. This was also in consideration to the fact that the cheapest item in the system store was priced at $1,000 in the real world currency.

Anyway, just a few seconds later, Michael found what he was looking for.

Surprisingly or unsurprisingly, the system store also had mutation serums. It was just that, according to the description provided, there was a difference between the serums here and the ones described by Brian.

The serums that could be found within the system store had the same categorization, starting from grade E, all the way to grade SSS.

It was just that, this categorization did not involve anything about the risks incurred while taking the serums. Instead, it was just in terms of the strength of the abilities or superpowers that could be awakened.

Additionally, the categorization was in such a way that the serums were categorized into three categories.

They included physical enhancement serums, elemental serums, and psychic abilities serums.

Those were the main categories. And within the physical enhancement serums category, examples included super strength, accelerated regeneration, enhanced agility, pain suppression, heightened senses, enhanced speed, won’t hurting, poison resistance, night vision and so on.

For the elemental serums, they included fire generation, stone skin, I surface freezing, electric discharge, flame coating, wind burst, overload pulse, EMP burst and many more.

For the psychic ability serums, they included telekinesis, mind reading, illusion projection, via induction, emotional manipulation, memory extraction, telepathic communication, brain acceleration, sleep induction and many others.

Just looking at the long lists, it made Michael shocked. He had not anticipated that there were so many types of serums available.

But, the quality of the serums inside the system store was way better than those available, at least those that had been researched by the government secret institution.

Within the store, there were those serums that could grant a person SSS grade abilities!

Just looking at them, Michael had the impulse of buying one, though he stopped himself. At least for now, he could not do that, considering that he still needed to deal with Brian.

As for the prices of the serums, it was quite simple. Grade E serums were priced at 0.2 to 0.5 SP. Grade D serums ranged from 0.6 to 1 SP.

As for Grade C serums, they went for 1.1 to 2 SP. Grade B serums ranged between 2.1 and 4 SP. Grade A serums cost 4.1 to 8 SP.

Then, Grade S serums jumped to 15 to 30 SP, while grade SS serums were priced at 35 to 60 SP. Finally, grade SSS serums exceed 65 SP.

Looking at the prices within the system store, as usual, they were dirty cheap. At least, even the lowest level of serum, if it were taken out, it could be sold at a very high price.

This was not just a matter of the costs incurred during the production, it was also a matter of demand, as well as the availability.

It would not be impossible for someone to be able to spend hundreds of millions of dollars in order to be able to acquire just a single grade S ability, especially considering the fact that the serums from the system did not have any risks associated.

Each serum was well categorized, in such a way that a person would be able to know what ability they would awaken after taking it.

If Michael really wanted to make big money, he could easily use the serums to do so. But of course, he had no any intention of doing that. If he released these serums, and they fell into the hands of his future enemies, how ironic would that be?

So, it would be much better for him to use it on those that he cared about. That way, they would be granted the ability to protect themselves.

After all, it was currently impossible for them take the evolution serum, the same serum that Michael had taken in order to exceed human limits.

Michael was not sure about the difference between the two serums, the one that allowed him to exceed the human limits, and the other serums that granted abilities.

Then, there was another thought that came to Michael’s mind. That was, what would happen if someone took several serums at the same time, or one after the other, in order to be able to gain multiple abilities.

According to the information that was provided by Brian, it seemed that this was something that had not been tested out so far.

Not to mention the fact that just taking a small serum had the risks of someone dying, why would someone, who had already gained an ability, want to risk their lives, to see if they could gain another one?

Such a situation could only happen if that person had gained a very low grade ability, and was trying to get a high grade ability. But for now, the serums that were being produced were low in number as compared to the number of people that wanted them.

But then, Michael thought about the serums in the system store. Could he possess multiple abilities? Or, could another person be given so that they could have several abilities at the same time?

This time, as soon as this thought emerged in Michael’s mind, he received a prompt from the system.

[The host, who has already exceeded the human limits can have multiple abilities. But if a normal human takes 2 or more serums, their bodies would be overwhelmed, and they might end up dying as a worst consequence, and at best, they might fall into a coma.]

As Michael thought about the information provided by the system, he realized that this might be the case. The mutation occurred on the genetic level.

This would inevitably affect a person as a whole. So, if several mutations occurred one after the other, there was a possibility that the body might be overwhelmed, leading to death, or complete shutdown of the body or several organs.

Still, it was already good enough that someone could have an ability. So, there was no need to risk falling into a coma or dying just because of being greedy for more.

For now, Michael had no any intention of giving anyone the serums, at least anyone apart from the bio humans. While the bio humans had incredible physiques, they did not have special abilities like superpowers.

But for some like Adrian, superpowers might be necessary. Additionally, just like Michael, the bio humans could have several abilities at the same time, considering that their constitutions were above that of humans.

Still, Michael realized something. The research that was being carried out by the government would eventually leak out. Most probably, there was already a conflict between this nation and the other nations about the mutation serums.

And if there ever was a breakthrough, one that allowed mass production of the mutation serums, the entire world would eventually change. At that time, it would be a situation where those with superpowers held the highest authority, and wealth could be ignored.

Well, not necessarily ignored. But at least, only those that would have stronger superpowers would have much wealth. As for those without power to protect their wealth, they could only have them taken away.

As he stopped focusing on the system screen floating in front of him, he looked at Brian who was still on the couch. This guy, despite realizing that Michael was focusing on something else, as though he was deep in thought, he did not try to run away.

Brian believed that Michael was a mutant, so, he believed that he did not have the ability of running away from him.

It was just that he was confused as to why Michael was asking about this, despite himself being a mutant. He thought, was it really possible that Michael had been lucky and accidentally found an mutation serum?

There was no any other explanation that Brian could think of for the time being. At least, most of those that could get the mutation serums all had incredible backgrounds, and were informed about this matter.

Despite what he was thinking about, Michael looked at him and said, "You can leave. I will give you 20 minutes. If within 20 minutes you get found by the person that I will be sending after you, that will be unlucky of you.

The person that I will be sending after you, the moment that they encounter you, he’ll kill you. It doesn’t matter if you bring the entire dark society, but just know one thing, if you don’t run fast enough, you are going to die. So, don’t say that I didn’t give you a chance."

Brian’s body trembled upon hearing Michael’s words. But at the same time, he felt incredibly relieved. While 20 minutes seemed less for him to be able to get out of here, it was enough.

He did not believe that, even if Michael was a mutant, he would be able to find him 20 minutes later. That was unless he followed him as soon as he left.

Still, as Michael had said, this was a chance for him. So, without hesitation, he quickly got up before he bolted outside the private room.
