Inheriting a Lost Bloodline, My First Task is to have heirs?!-Chapter 396 - Dealing with troubles in Ersha (Part 4)
Chapter 396: Chapter 396 - Dealing with troubles in Ersha (Part 4)
The first few hours of the afternoon went by peacefully as I went from patient to patient, checking their health and addressing any concerns or deficiencies. Me and my three assistants have isolated a few people who have more complicated illnesses that need long-term care as well as a ton of common ailments that we can easily address. We took note of each so I can teach them a way to make the cures and then I will let my assistants administer the cures to the respective patients by tomorrow.
In the middle of the afternoon, maybe realizing that the first 10 bandits that was sent over did not return, another 10 was sent over by the bandit camp stupidly. Yes, stupidly. If you want to scout an enemy camp, you don’t immediately send a huge bulk of your forces because maybe there was an ambush waiting.
I am that ambush and that pit I made will be their temporary abode until the people that will fetch them for further punishment arrives. As for them fitting inside the pit, let them squeeze each other uncomfortably. I even tossed a stink bug for fun inside to torture the bunch of pests which are now 20 in total.
After the clinic work, I went around the town with the chief. This time, it was to talk with the people that are managing the farms that grow the grains. I took my time to bless the fields and also purify all the water sources of the town while I am at it.
I also distributed some seeds and gave them a crash course on how to better plant and take care of each type of grain. I promised to send them tools and machines once I found someone to make them so they are ready for selling like threshing machine, huskers, dehullers and mills. ppProcessed grains are easier to sell and have a higher selling price too.
After the farms have been handled, I came back to the community kitchen since everybody agreed to have another meal together at dinner. This time each family contributed ingredients and planned the menu. They said that it is their turn to cook for me and have me taste their cooking.
Of course, with the smell of freshly cooked food which comprised of a yummy vegetable stew and some flour pancakes, a few more bandits appeared to extort food. This time, only three came but they seemed to be stronger and have a higher rank in the bandits’ camp, not that it mattered. They ended up in the pit too, together with another stink bug for good measure. I have successfully bagged 23 so far by just eating and working on my tasks which is amazing.
During the early evening, the lessons for my three healer apprentices started. I first asked them about what they have observed in the clinic earlier and what cures they remembered me using. I also check about what level of knowledge they currently have so I know where to start teaching them. I each gave them a small booklet of basic medicinal plants as a gift from a master to their apprentice. The small gift made the three happy like children given candy. freeweɓnovel-cøm
I excused myself for the night and told the chief that I opted to stay inside the wagon. Once inside the wagon, I teleported to some place else. As to where it was, of course, it was my room inside the inn in Bragen to hug someone to sleep.
The next morning, three huge carriages arrived in Ersha from Hoffen City. They were disguised as carriages used to deliver supplies. This was done in a way to attract more bandits to enter the village to try and pillage stuff. There were only 6 soldiers, two for each carriage that disguised as a coachman and an attendant. They arrived in such a way based on the instructions I gave to Yren.
An hour before noon, just when we are cooking lunch for everybody, ten more bandits appeared at the gates of the village. It was very obvious that they were targeting whatever is inside the three carriages that arrived earlier this morning with the timing of their arrival. We continued cooking and doing whatever we were doing which irritated the ignored bunch.
They started destroying some of the items nearby and even tried to spill whatever food we were preparing. I found myself laughing coldly which made all the commotion stop. Even the bandits that were causing mayhem stopped what they were doing. They all looked at me in surprise and I deliberately slowed my voice and asked, "You just want to see what is inside the carriages right? Sure! Let me show you then."
Hearing that I was agreeable to what they were asking for, the 10 villainy-looking men followed me eagerly to the area where the carriages were parked. I asked one of the disguised soldiers to open one and just as the door opened, it was as if a huge hand hit all of the 10 men as they fell to the ground, face first. I then gave instructions to the soldiers to chain the bandits inside the carriage.
The carriage is nothing less than a mobile cage which was custom-made by my new business partner using a new blue print I sent in. Each carriage is able to carry 17 bandits so 3 would be perfect. The chains are very secure since it will tie them around the neck, wrists, chest, waist, thighs and ankles. They will also be blindfolded and gagged for good measure. I don’t care if you think that it was an overkill. I just want to make sure that the two soldiers assigned to each carriage would reach the capital in one piece.
Given that I now have 33 bandits in custody, I went to the pit and chose 7 more rebels who were the ones that looked weaker than the others. Given that they are men, they all have started to stink from the sweat and of course, the stink bugs that I sent over. Well, they are all comrades so they should suffer together. With blindfolds and gags, they won’t have a choice but to breathe with their noses and living with their stinky companions until they reach the capital’s reformation prison.
