Chapter 410: Chapter 410 - Leaving Ersha

After an hour, I left Quintin’s room looking all prim and proper. There was nothing that would give away anything that happened inside the room. I cleaned up the man and the room so it was spick and span. Quintin was dead asleep again with nothing on covered by the marks I left on his skin. I left an ampule of the green liquid again for when he wakes up.

I met with Quintin’s parents and asked some personal information about him so I can fill out some paperwork for the registration. I also did this with the manager of the orphanage back in Bragen so I can fill out Claude’s information in. They would just get the notification once I have completed making things official in the near future.

I secretly left some rings around their right thumbs which are currently undetectable not only to everyone else but also to their owners themselves. It will be somewhat like a GPS device so I know where they exactly are at any point in time and for protection since I am not able to accompany them most of the time. They do not have any idea about the accessory so the storage function would have to be shelved for now.

After completing the form, I hid it in a safe place for submission later. I did a last check for the things that Ersha needed based on the reports that palace scouts gave me as well as the ones that I have observed when I arrived here. So far, I have addressed all the issues and they will just have to wait for the delivery of seeds and farming machines soon.

With that all covered, I bid the chief and his wife goodbye. It was so sudden that they seemed to have started to panic a bit. I do not know if it was because they have been enjoying my stay or if they are expecting me to bring their son with me.

I never intended to do that though. Even Claude was left behind in Bragen.

I went to my wagon to prepare for my trip and also to check on my two horses that have been chilling for the past few days. They look well-fed and taken cared of so we are good to go. The couple asked if I would not be waiting for their son to wake up and I simply shook my head with a smile.

After exactly half an hour after I gave my notification of departure, I left the northern gates of Ersha to get to the next place on my itinerary. The next place was even farther as its travel time is even more than the combined travel time between Hoffen to Bragen then Bragen to Ersha.

The next place was called Rigden Village and it is 6 hours away from my current location. With the rate of how leisurely I go through my travel between places, I may arrive there by night fall.

As usual, the trip was filled with small detours here and there. I stopped at small prairies and forests, sampling the plants and animals available in the area. I also did not forget to complete some mapping tasks and also refilling my storage. I may be taking different roles now at the same time, as I am a student, a doctor and an envoy for this trip but above all that, I will always be a moneygrub- a businesswoman, I mean.

The travel time between the town of Ersha and Rigden which was ideally at 6 hours, was extended by about an hour and a half. I made sure to leave no stone unturned in terms of finding every valuable item that I can use or sell.

I couldn’t help but think of what kind of wonders Rigden Village will be bringing to my otherwise quite routinely life. I just hope that the problems of this area is not too complicated to resolve so I can move on to the next place. I am still a long way from reaching the northern military camps.

After the fairly long but leisurely trip, I finally saw from afar, what looks like a quaint village with sparsely spaced houses made of stone and wood. Most of the houses were white so everything looked new and clean. Sadly, just like the last territory, there was no proper wall to protect the village from the outside.

Though they do not have a proper wall, what was surprising is the presence of what seems to be a chapel on one side of the village. It was also made of wood, no bigger than a bungalow. This is the first time I am seeing such a structure in this world. I always thought that this world doesn’t have a specific religion and that they simply believe in deities of nature or creation.

I continued traveling in my wagon, not intending to hurry in any way. This territory was also advised that an envoy would visit them soon so I think they should have an idea why a wagon is approaching their territory one fine day. This place is almost half a day from Hoffen City so people just don’t go here for nothing.

It took me about 15 minutes more to reach the borders of the village. It looked quite near when I first saw it but I guess, my eyesight was just that good so I was able to see it quite early.

Upon reaching the borders, I alighted the wagon and simply had the horses follow me slowly. I held on to their ropes to give an illusion that I was guiding and pulling them though it will only need one thought through telepathy to make them follow my wishes.

I looked for villagers and asked the first one I saw if there is an inn or a place where I can stay for the night and park my wagon and keep my horses. The villager scratched the back of his head as he embarrassedly said that their village doesn’t have one though there are people who can be hired to take care of the animals and the wagon. He also said that visitors usually either live in the chief’s house or rent an empty house instead. freēwēbnovel.com

I thanked the villager and asked if he knows anybody that I can hire for my wagon and horses as well as a house I can rent for the night. He excitedly helped me after I promised him some form of reward money. It only took barely 10 minutes for me to find a caretaker for the wagon and the animals. They were also kind enough to give me a house to rent where I can place them.

I did not look for the village chief for now since I just want to settle my stuff first. I also don’t mind if we don’t meet today. I would rather walk around the village on my own to check on what this place needs rather than have someone incessantly talking to me while I do so.
