Chapter 334: Chapter 334: Heisenberg’s Resolve

The summer rain always comes quickly.

By the time Heisenberg arrived at Ethan’s house, it had been raining for a while.

This is Ethan’s new home.

Joseph helped him find it; it’s even closer to the sea than his previous house, with a better view, and the whole house is larger with an exquisite design. It’s said to be a work of the most famous architect of the previous generation, David Grinch. Its market price would have been sky-high, but with Joseph’s involvement, price was no longer an issue.

Heisenberg stood in the yard looking at the sculpture for quite a while, until Ethan, holding an umbrella, came to his side, making him finally turn his gaze back.

"Do you understand sculpture?"

Ethan asked him.

"No, I don’t."

Heisenberg shook his head.

"This piece seems to be called ’The Cage.’ Rumor has it that it is also a work of David Grinch, which once drove the house’s price above market value."

Ethan also stared at the sculpture.

It was a naked man trapped by two rings.

Half his body seemed to be struggling to break free, while the other half strained to contract, as if afraid any part might escape.

Extreme contradiction, bizarre.

"This sculpture seems to have another name, called... ’Life.’ Did you see anything?"

"Is Maurice one of your men?"

Heisenberg suddenly asked.

"Who? Maurice? Impossible, he’s a hot figure now, someone even I look up to."

Ethan shook his head repeatedly. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞

"Who exactly killed Depp?"

Heisenberg seemed not to hear and continued to ask.

"I heard it was Sea King Lockeby’s men, but I’m not quite sure."

"I know it was Joseph’s men, hand them over to me."

"Do you think that’s possible?"

Finally, they stopped talking past each other.

The rain suddenly intensified, as if it were the only sound resonating in the entire world.

"Then I’ll have to arrest you; they know it’s you."

Heisenberg stared at Ethan intently.

"Then arrest me."

Ethan willingly held out his hands.

Silence, for a long time.

The rain showed no sign of stopping.

Heisenberg did not use an umbrella nor any ability to ward off the rain; he simply let it pelt his face and body.

At that moment, he seemed like a statue himself.

"You have to give me a name."

"No name."

Heisenberg suddenly reached out and grabbed Ethan by the collar.

"A name."

After a moment of silence, Ethan finally slowly uttered a name.

Hearing it, Heisenberg slowly let go of his hand and then walked outside.

Just as he was about to leave, he suddenly turned and looked at Ethan again, saying, "I will catch you, I definitely will."

Ethan merely extended his hand in a gesture of willing capture.

——————

The rain stopped after Heisenberg left.

Strangely enough.

After he left, Ethan drank another cup of coffee and then began to work on his storyboard creation.

This was his first attempt at filmmaking, but fortunately, he was the investor, so he could do whatever he wanted.

The first set was chosen in the South District, on Vasini’s turf, with the first scene shot in the Sanctuary.

Vasini had already been informed of this and naturally had no objections, as it was an oracle.

After completing the storyboard for the first act, Ethan turned his head to look out the window.

This house’s other valuable aspect was that right outside the window was the sea, just like Sandro’s house before.

His storyboards were done, and next, it needed the actors to gradually come on stage.

At the same time.

The scene of Angus’s murder.

Johnny was investigating, absent-mindedly.

From time to time, Heisenberg’s gaze flickered in his mind.

That gaze made his heart palpitate.

He belonged to no one and had just botched something.

If this had been in Michelle’s time, he’d be a dead man.

He didn’t know what kind of person Heisenberg was or why he had been sent here.

Could it be...

"Johnny, any discoveries?"

At that moment, Heisenberg’s sudden question interrupted his thoughts.

"Yes, sir."

Johnny quickly stood up and reported the information he had gathered.

"Angus should have had one bodyguard survive, named Gule, a former member of the First Dragon Corps, and Johnny Blackbird might be two people."

"Oh?"

Compared to the information about Gule, the notion that Johnny Blackbird could be two people seemed to capture Heisenberg’s attention more.

"Why do you say that?"

"Ballistics."

Johnny continued to explain.

"Based on the traces at the scene, most of Angus’s men were killed by bullets from a Wenster typewriter coming from the front. Meanwhile, Angus himself was killed by a large-caliber bullet coming in through the side window; the ballistics were entirely different. From the traces, it can be deduced that one person initially distracted all of Angus’s men, then a second person fired the fatal shot into the vehicle, killing Angus."

Heisenberg listened while observing the entire scene.

"The shot that killed Angus looks exactly like the one that tried to assassinate the Eldest Prince, so Johnny Blackbird is likely not just one person, but... a group."

Heisenberg nodded after hearing this.

"You’re very good, Johnny."

"Thank you, sir..."

Johnny still didn’t know what Heisenberg meant; his string of analyses was half professional habit, half trying to leave a memorable impression on Heisenberg.

"I know you. In fact, you have a brother, right?"

"Yes, sir."

Johnny couldn’t help but swallow.

Was it finally coming?

"Your brother is a smart guy. Even though I don’t like him very much, he’s indeed competent when it comes to enforcing the law."

"Sir, I..."

"You needn’t overthink this, Johnny."

Heisenberg interrupted Johnny.

"While I do have some private dealings with Ethan, they’re just dealings—nothing that can override the kingdom’s laws or its interests, so..."

"Investigate thoroughly; we must apprehend Johnny Blackbird and those who dare to disrupt the Kingdom’s interests and stability."

Heisenberg’s words were firm, and his gaze even more so. He was resolved.

Johnny’s heart finally settled. He knew he would be okay.

At least in this matter, he wouldn’t be subjected to an unavoidable fate.

"Yes, sir, I will try my utmost!"

"Okay, go."

Heisenberg nodded, waving Johnny off to continue his work while he himself looked up at the sky.

Since the rain stopped, the Royal Capital’s sky became clear and magnificent once again.

Night was approaching.

And the heat would soon return.

Ethan, if this is my life, then I choose to adhere to my rules.
