Chapter 194: Pregnant

The room Rory arranged for Xarion had a style somewhat similar to her own—warm tones, soft lighting, and a cozy, welcoming atmosphere.

The room she prepared for Nix, however, was entirely different. It was filled with sleek metallic surfaces and glowing panels, brimming with futuristic technology.

She had even asked Xarion to use spatial stones to create several separate storage spaces within the room.

Those spaces were meant to house the mechs Nix built.

With Xarion helping her, the two rooms were completed easily in just one afternoon.

Xarion sat in his newly arranged room and pulled Rory down into his arms.

"Female Master," he murmured softly, "will you sleep in my room tonight?"

As he spoke, he opened a drawer and took out a small box of toys he had secretly hidden away.

From inside, he removed a silver chain and wrapped it around his wrist.

"Female Master... do you want to tame me?"

Rory immediately reached out and covered his mouth.

"Lower your voice!"

Was that something he could just say out loud?

Xarion kissed the center of her palm.

"Then does the Female Master want to?"

Rory pushed him down onto the bed in one swift motion. The silver chain in her hand clicked as she fastened it to the bedframe.

Leaning down, she lightly bit his throat.

"Yes."

He was the one who had suggested it.

Rory looked down at him and reached for the buttons of his shirt, but suddenly, an overwhelming wave of drowsiness crashed over her.

The next second, she collapsed straight onto Xarion’s chest.

"Female Master? What’s wrong?"

Xarion was startled by the sudden change.

He immediately sat up, scooped Rory into his arms, and rushed out of the room.

***

Fifteen minutes later, Central District Hospital. Inside a premium VIP ward.

After conducting a thorough examination, the doctor finally turned to the anxious Xarion and said,

"Congratulations. Your female is pregnant."

"What?"

Xarion stared at the doctor in disbelief.

"You must have made a mistake."

Whenever they became intimate with the Female Master, they had always taken precautions.

The doctor shook his head firmly.

"There is no mistake. We used the latest diagnostic equipment and confirmed the results several times. Based on both the scans and our clinical experience, your female is indeed pregnant."

Xarion ground his teeth.

Which one of them had been so careless?

The Female Master had clearly said she didn’t want children yet.

He asked the doctor, "Can you tell which race the cub belongs to?"

The doctor shook his head.

"It’s too early to determine that. Judging from the female’s current physical response, the pregnancy appears to be around three to four months along. However, we cannot yet determine which bloodline it belongs to."

Hearing that the pregnancy was three to four months along, Xarion suddenly wasn’t so certain whose child it was.

After all, the gestation periods for his race, Jasper’s, and Nix’s were all roughly the same.

"Thank you."

After seeing the doctor out, Xarion returned to the bedside and looked at Rory anxiously.

He replayed that night in his mind.

Even though he had been in rut, everything had remained within his control.

It couldn’t have been him.

Absolutely not him.

If it wasn’t Jasper, then it had to be Nix.

It had to be one of them.

Just then, Jasper arrived at the hospital as quickly as he could.

The moment he entered the room, Xarion immediately informed him—Rory was pregnant.

And she still hadn’t woken up.

Jasper was completely stunned. For a moment, his mind went blank.

He forced himself to calm down first and asked about Rory’s condition. After confirming that she was simply asleep and had no other complications, he turned to Xarion and asked uncertainly,

"Is... is it mine?"

Xarion shook his head. "We can’t determine that yet."

Jasper immediately let out a breath of relief. "It definitely isn’t mine. I took every precaution."

There was no way it could be him.

He looked at Xarion again. "Then could it be you or Nix?"

"It can’t be me." Of all possibilities, Xarion believed he was the least likely.

The higher one’s Rank, the harder it was to produce offspring.

"Let’s ask Nix," Jasper said.

He immediately opened his light-brain and sent a message.

Jasper: Rory is pregnant. Is it yours?

Damn it. Rory had clearly said she didn’t want children yet.

What exactly had Nix been doing?

At that moment, Nix was finishing loading beast cores and preparing to activate his mech when the message appeared.

The moment he read it, he nearly detonated the mech on the spot.

He instantly initiated a video call with Jasper.

Not wanting to disturb Rory, Jasper stepped outside the hospital room before accepting the call.

The moment the connection opened, a projection of Nix appeared before him—his clothes torn and ragged, clearly fresh from the lab.

Nix: "Jasper! How is Rory? And don’t go slandering me."

"I may not have much experience in that area, but I’m certain—the baby she’s carrying definitely isn’t mine."

As if anyone had experience.

Didn’t they all rely on inherited instincts?

Not to mention the books and videos Nix himself had shared.

Jasper pressed his lips together.

"Rory’s fine. She’s just asleep. You’re absolutely sure it’s not yours?"

Nix nodded firmly.

"Not mine. Absolutely impossible. If Rory tells me not to do something, I wouldn’t do it even if you beat me to death."

Besides, Nix had no desire to have cubs this early.

The mere thought of a pack of hungry cubs trailing behind him, howling for milk all day, made his scalp tingle.

"Could it be you and Xarion?" Nix suddenly asked. "Either way, it’s definitely not me."

"Impossible," Jasper replied immediately, shaking his head.

Nix didn’t look convinced.

"Wait for me. I’ll finish up here and come back as soon as possible."

The call ended.

Jasper returned to the hospital room and shook his head at Xarion.

"Nix says it’s not his either."

Only the three of them had become mates with Rory.

So whose child could it possibly be?

***

Rory didn’t wake until the evening of the next day.

The moment she opened her eyes, she realized she was in a hospital.

Beside her stood Xarion and Jasper.

Even Nix had returned—his clothes still tattered, clearly having rushed straight from the laboratory.

Dark circles shadowed his eyes; it was obvious he hadn’t slept in a long time.

"What happened to me?" Rory asked, looking at the three of them. "Nix, why did you rush back?"

Please don’t tell me I have a serious illness.

That couldn’t be it... right?

The last thing Rory remembered was being in Xarion’s room. She had been about to pounce on him when a sudden wave of overwhelming sleepiness hit her—and then everything went black.

Jasper gently took her hand, his expression full of guilt.

"Rory... whatever I say next, promise you won’t panic or get angry."

His tone only confused her more.

"What is it?"

If she had some fatal illness, they would look worried or heartbroken—not guilty.

Meanwhile, Nix and Xarion both stood there with their heads lowered, not daring to speak.

Jasper took a deep breath.

"Rory... you’re pregnant."

"What did you say?" Rory blinked in disbelief, thinking she must have misheard.

She asked him again.

Nix suddenly dropped to his knees beside the bed, looking utterly ashamed.

"Rory, if you’re angry, just hit us. We really didn’t mean for this to happen."

The problem was—they still had no idea which one of them the child belonged to.

"I’m... really pregnant?" Rory still felt as if it wasn’t real. She placed a hand on her stomach, then looked at the three men. "Whose child is it?"

Jasper’s?

Judging from his expression, that didn’t seem likely.

Nix, however, looked extremely guilty...

Just as Rory began to suspect him, Nix shook his head vigorously.

"Rory, it’s not mine."

"Believe me—there’s no way it’s mine."

Not Nix?

Then could it be... Rory turned her gaze toward Xarion.

"Female Master, it isn’t mine either," Xarion said immediately. "You have to believe me."
