Interstellar Beast World: All My Husbands Are Powerful and Rich!-Chapter 198: Crybaby
The Next Day
Rory woke early.
The moment Nix opened the door, he saw the little rabbit curled up outside.
"Cotton Candy? Why are you sleeping outside Rory’s door?"
So Rory’s suspicion had been right. This rabbit definitely wasn’t normal.
What kind of ordinary rabbit would worry so much about its owner that it would sleep outside their door all night?
A normal animal simply wouldn’t have that kind of awareness.
"Cotton Candy... are you worried about Rory?"
Nix crouched down and picked up the rabbit, his expression full of concern.
"I’ll take you to see her. Rory is sitting on the balcony getting some sunlight. Once you’re beside her, you have to stay quiet, okay? Don’t disturb her."
Aren lay quietly in Nix’s arms without moving, but he carefully memorized every word.
The Female Master needed quiet rest. He must not disturb her.
Nix carried the rabbit over to the balcony and spoke gently to Rory, who was sitting there.
"Rory, I’m going downstairs to bring you breakfast. Let Cotton Candy stay with you for now."
Rory’s complexion was even paler than the day before.
She leaned weakly against one of the balcony pillars, as though she barely had the strength to sit upright.
When she saw Cotton Candy in Nix’s arms, she gave a faint smile and patted the seat beside her, signaling for Nix to place the rabbit there.
It was a beautiful morning.
The sunlight fell softly across the balcony.
From where Rory sat, she could see the artificial lake stretching across the manor grounds.
Small fish occasionally broke through the water’s surface before splashing back down again.
Flowers along the lakebank bloomed brightly, their petals still dotted with sparkling morning dew.
Rory gently stroked the rabbit’s back, her tone filled with quiet regret.
"Cotton Candy... don’t you think the scenery here is beautiful? It’s a pity... I might never see such beautiful sights again."
"Chi-chi!"
Female Master, that won’t happen!
I will definitely cure you!
Aren had no interest in the scenery around them. In his eyes, there was only Rory.
Just then—
"Master..."
A cool, clear voice called out from below.
Wen stood by the lakeside, dragging a large suitcase behind him. He waved enthusiastically toward the balcony.
"Master, I’m back!"
"Wen?"
The moment Rory saw the man standing by the lake, a flash of surprise lit her eyes.
She didn’t forget that she was still acting. Maintaining her weak demeanor, she raised a hand and gave Wen a small wave from the balcony, signaling for him to come up.
Beastfolk had exceptionally sharp eyesight.
Wen immediately noticed how pale Rory’s face was.
The smile on his lips froze. The next second, he dropped the suitcase in his hand and leapt straight up from the ground below.
He landed on the balcony in a single bound.
Standing before Rory, he took in her pale, fragile appearance—and his heart clenched painfully.
Tears burst from his eyes. One pink pearl after another fell to the ground.
"Master... what happened to you?"
When he left, she had been perfectly fine.
Rory watched the pink pearls dropping steadily onto the floor and had to suppress the overwhelming urge to gather them all up.
Keeping her voice weak, she said softly to Wen, "Wen... I’m sick. I might not be able to be your master for much longer."
The moment Wen heard those words, his tears fell even harder.
When he left, she had been healthy. How could she suddenly fall ill? And so seriously?
"Master... that won’t happen. You will definitely get better."
More pearls fell, bouncing lightly against the floor. Some rolled across the balcony and slipped through the gaps in the railing, dropping all the way to the ground below.
Rory’s heart nearly ached at the sight.
Later, she would definitely ask Nix to go pick them up.
Each pearl was the size of a pigeon egg—losing even one made her feel painfully wasteful.
But Wen only cried harder.
The more he cried, the more pearls dropped, rolling everywhere—many of them already tumbling down to the courtyard below.
Rory was starting to feel restless.
Were those actual pearls? 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
No.
Those were Wen’s tears.
The little fish looked beautiful even when he cried—perhaps even more so.
"Wen... stop crying for now," Rory said weakly, quickly trying to calm him. "I’m feeling a bit tired. Help me back to bed so I can rest."
Good boy. Let’s go cry inside. That way, the pearls won’t keep falling downstairs. You can cry as much as you like there.
Wen didn’t want to cry either.
But seeing Rory so weak made the tears flow uncontrollably. "Master... I’ll help you back to bed."
He carefully supported Rory as she stood and led her back into the bedroom. Behind them, pink pearls scattered across the floor like tiny beads of light.
Rory glanced at the pearls rolling everywhere in the room, then at Wen—who was still crying without stopping.
She couldn’t help worrying that if he kept crying like this, he might run out of tears entirely.
"Wen... please don’t cry."
"Master... I—I can’t help it! Seeing you like this... I just... I can’t stop myself from crying!"
His voice trembled. More tears fell. The floor was already covered with pearls.
Cotton Candy, who had followed them in, was nearly buried under the pile of pearls.
Rory could not let Wen keep crying like this.
But with Cotton Candy present, she couldn’t tell Wen the truth.
So she quietly opened her wrist device and sent a message to Xarion and the others, asking them to come upstairs.
Nix and Jasper had just finished preparing breakfast when Rory’s message arrived. They rushed upstairs immediately.
The moment Nix pushed open the door and saw the floor covered in pearls, he froze in shock.
So many pearls? Wen was really a crybaby.
Back when Vincent had invited several elders of the merfolk clan to the estate, those old fellows combined hadn’t cried enough to produce this many pearls.
As expected of the King of the merfolk.
Even Jasper and Xarion, who arrived just behind Nix, were taken aback when they saw the mountain of pearls.
Xarion stepped forward, lifted the rabbit out of the pearl pile with one hand, and grabbed Wen with the other.
Then he spoke gently to Rory, "Female Master, I’ll take these two outside first. Let Nix clean up the room."
"I’m not leaving." Wen shook his head stubbornly. "I want to stay with my master."
"Chi-chi!"
I’m not leaving either.
Aren also wanted to stay beside Rory.
Seeing Wen like this, Rory suspected that if he went outside, he would only continue crying.
She turned to Xarion. "Xarion, take Cotton Candy out first. I want to speak with Wen alone for a moment."
Xarion glanced at Wen, then nodded.
Once he carried Cotton Candy out of the room, Rory immediately dropped the weak act she had been maintaining.
Her voice regained its strength. "Wen, stop crying. I’m not sick."
Wen blinked in shock. He stared at Rory, so stunned that even his tears stopped.
"Master... you...?"
Rory quickly explained, "I was pretending just now—to trick Cotton Candy."
Since Wen had returned, it was time for him to know the truth. Rory briefly explained everything about Cotton Candy and the suspicions surrounding him.
Wen understood very quickly. "That rabbit... is actually a beastfolk?"
What kind of rabbit clan could possibly produce an Rank 11 beastfolk?
He had never heard of such a thing.
After thinking for a moment, Wen said thoughtfully, "Master, could it be that he isn’t really a Rank 11 beastfolk... but used some special method to disguise himself like this? That would explain why no one can detect anything unusual."
After all, the empire was vast. It wouldn’t be strange if there were secret techniques unknown to them.
Rory still couldn’t say for certain. "No matter how he became a rabbit, our goal remains the same. We need to make him reveal his true identity."
Meanwhile, Nix had begun directing the household robots to gather all the pearls scattered across the room.
One by one, they collected them and placed them into an empty ring storage space.
When everything had been gathered, Nix handed the ring to Rory.
"Rory, all the pearls in the room are stored inside this ring."
