Invincible Soul Emperor-Chapter 339 Breaking the Deadlock
Qin Yue and Ma Chunsheng meant well. Chen Yue Pavilion’s business seemed to be booming, but in reality, they were just working for the Huanyue Sect. The more they sold, the more they would ultimately lose.
However, Ye Qingchen shook his head. "We absolutely cannot stop the twenty-percent-off promotion now!" he said. "Since the Huanyue Sect has already started targeting us, we cannot give them any excuse. They would surely launch a huge publicity campaign, claiming Chen Yue Pavilion is untrustworthy and goes back on its word. If that happens, not only would we forfeit the opportunity this situation has given us, but we would also lose our business’s reputation. All our hard work will have been for nothing!"
Qin Yue started to fret. Ye Qingchen had a very good point. If they did stop the promotion, Chen Yue Pavilion would be unable to recover, and all of his plans would come to nothing.
Ma Chunsheng also sighed and asked, "Then, Mr. Ye, what should we do now?"
To their surprise, faced with such a dilemma, Ye Qingchen actually laughed. "This is a difficult situation, a real bind. For Chen Yue Pavilion, it’s an unprecedented crisis, but it’s also a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity."
Qin Yue and Ma Chunsheng were even more confused, wondering what kind of opportunity he was talking about.
Qin Yue asked curiously, "Qingchen, have you thought of a plan?"
Ye Qingchen nodded. "I do have a plan, but now isn’t the time to reveal it."
Qin Yue and Ma Chunsheng exchanged a look but didn’t press further. They both trusted his abilities. Since Ye Qingchen said he had a plan, he would surely be able to turn the crisis around.
Ye Qingchen smiled and continued, "As for the plan, it’s a secret for now. However, Qin Yue, I need you to do me a favor. Contact Elder Qin."
Qin Yue nodded. "Don’t worry, Qingchen. I’ve already notified Grandfather and asked him to send more alchemists. It will take some time for them to get here, though."
Ye Qingchen shook his head. "Let’s put the alchemists on hold for now. What I need is for you to ask Elder Qin to transfer medicinal ingredients to us, just in case."
Qin Yue nodded thoughtfully and replied with solemn conviction, "Rest assured, Qingchen. I’ll have all the medicinal ingredients from the nearby Rising Sun Pavilions transferred here as quickly as possible."
Ye Qingchen smiled and resumed his alchemy, while Qin Yue and Ma Chunsheng went about their respective tasks.
As evening fell, the alchemists from the Rising Sun Pavilion finished their work for the day and took their leave of Ye Qingchen. For a change, he didn’t stay up all night concocting Spirit Pills and instead returned to his room.
Back in his room, Ye Qingchen took out a black token that faintly shimmered with lightning. This was the special communication token for Thunder Valley, a gift from Liang Fei upon his departure. It would allow Ye Qingchen to contact him whenever needed.
After channeling his Soul Power into the token, Liang Fei’s voice soon came through. "Ye Qingchen, you just left Thunder Valley and you’re already missing me?"
Ye Qingchen laughed. "I do miss you a little. I’ve opened a shop called Chen Yue Pavilion in Illusory Moon City. If you have time tomorrow, why don’t you come by for a visit?"
Liang Fei chuckled. "Don’t worry, I’ll head over tomorrow. I’ll pilot my father’s Spirit Boat. It’s very fast."
The two chatted for a little while longer before Ye Qingchen withdrew his Soul Power. With the arrangements made, he took the rare opportunity to lie down and get a full night’s rest.
The next morning, Ye Qingchen called for Qin Yue and Ma Chunsheng. He refrained from refining Spirit Pills that day. Instead, the three of them sat in the main hall of Chen Yue Pavilion, watching the endless stream of customers.
None of them spoke. Ye Qingchen’s faint smile was enough to put Qin Yue and Ma Chunsheng at ease.
Around noon, a hearty laugh echoed from the entrance, and Liang Fei and his father, Liang Xiong, arrived at Chen Yue Pavilion together.
Ye Qingchen, Qin Yue, and Ma Chunsheng rose to greet them. After exchanging pleasantries, they all took their seats.
Liang Fei glanced at Qin Yue sitting next to Ye Qingchen, pursed his lips, and said with a touch of jealousy, "Ye Qingchen, what kind of luck did you stumble into? Not only do you have a goddess for a maid, but you also have one for a fiancée. Your fortune with women is simply divine! It’s enough to make your brother here green with envy."
The last time Liang Fei had seen Qin Yue, he had felt a pang of jealousy, but he had been too preoccupied with finding an alchemist for his mother to be in the mood for teasing. Now that his mother’s injuries were healed, he wasn’t about to miss a chance to poke fun at Ye Qingchen.
However, to Liang Fei’s surprise, before he could finish speaking, Liang Xiong smacked him on the head. "You disrespectful brat!" he scolded. "Mr. Ye... oh, Mr. Chen is your mother’s savior and a benefactor to our entire family. Say one more foolish word, and I’ll break your legs!"
Rubbing his head, Liang Fei shot Ye Qingchen a sour look but dared not say another word.
Ye Qingchen merely smiled without speaking. Qin Yue had assumed Ye Qingchen invited the father and son over for something important, so she couldn’t help but feel puzzled by his silence.
A moment later, a lively commotion erupted outside Chen Yue Pavilion.
At this, Ye Qingchen finally stood up, bowed to Liang Xiong, and said, "Thank you, Sect Master Liang."
Liang Xiong smiled and returned the gesture.
The way they played off each other left Qin Yue and Ma Chunsheng even more bewildered.
Ye Qingchen then took Qin Yue’s hand and led her toward the entrance, with Liang Xiong and Liang Fei following close behind.
By now, a sea of people had gathered outside Chen Yue Pavilion, with Thunder Valley disciples maintaining order.
When the crowd saw Ye Qingchen’s group emerge, and especially when they saw Liang Xiong, they instantly fell silent.
As the Sect Master of Thunder Valley, Liang Xiong was a household name in Chaoyun Country and commanded immense respect.
Liang Xiong glanced at Ye Qingchen, who smiled back. Understanding the cue, Liang Xiong turned to the crowd. "Everyone," he began, "I have asked you here today to act as witnesses for me!"
Channeling his Spiritual Energy, his voice boomed, reaching every person’s ear. "As you may have heard, my wife has been gravely ill for many years. Even the Chief Pill King of the Huanyue Sect was unable to cure her."
Hearing this, a murmur of discussion spread through the crowd. They were shocked that even Xi Jianwei, a Seventh-Rank Pill King, had failed. Just how unusual must the Sect Master’s wife’s illness be?
