Isekai Journey Of The Magic Archer-Chapter 1206: The blue-hair tribe
[OP: ]
Brian left the house to move to a certain place in the east of the empire. He started out his journey with the caravan without any great expectations.
He was simply going to a place where one could not go through the Wrap portals so they needed to take the road.
The journey wasn't that long. They were going to move to a highway road and after a journey of a week, they would reach a town. The town would have a boat service.
This service was important since the majority of their travel was going to be in a river. And it was one of the safest routes to go the east of the empire.
The empire was located in the central plains, connecting to the east of which was the territory of the eastern dukes.
They were guardians of the eastern gate of the empire, the family that prided on their defensive magic.
The dukedom was blessed by the [World Turtle] or so it was known throughout the lands. The powers that they possessed, had defended the empire for generations.
Even right now, the successors of the dukedom are famous throughout the land as promising masters.
They were older than Eon and the rest, but the children of dukedom were still pretty famous throughout the lands.
Their main house was at the border of the empire. However, Brain's party wasn't moving that far north.
Their destination was in the middle area of the empire. They were still within the empire's borders, just that this region was remote and isolated from the other parts of the empire.
"It was unbelievable…" The journey that should have taken them a week and a half overall had taken them only a week this time.
They passed through the road faster than usual. They had to move without stopping for some days so this speed was expected.
The reason behind this wasn't anything good though. In fact, throughout their journey, most of the members of the caravan did not have even a wink of sleep.
"First there was a werewolf, then we were facing a swarm of Deadly Wasps."
"It's still beyond me how that person managed to take down an (Indigo) rank monster by himself. The way that [Elemental Ant Queen] was defeated was a sight that I'll be passing down in my family as an inheritance story!"
"He fought for six hours straight the other day without breaking a sweat. Do you think just anyone can do that?"
"Even though he only used low-level spells, there's no way some mage could cast spells like that.
They were large-scale spells simplified into a chain of interconnected spells that only looked like low-level spells."
"Of course! Their output was on par with the advanced mages! I'm telling you all, he's the viscount-."
"Shuuuuu! You idiot! Everyone knows who that person is! Not just anyone has those red eyes in this empire!"
"Exactly! Why do you think he's wearing a mask and using those low-level spells even though using higher-tier spells would make things so much easier? He wants to hide his movements right now!"
The difficult journey had pushed Brian to the edge of his capacity.
Even though fighting all those creatures all these days was kind of nostalgic for him, reminding him of his old days when he used to just hunt the creatures for days, these beings were still strong.
They didn't just face creatures that adventurers usually see on these paths. They were going against creatures that even experienced adventurers see rarely.
First the werewolf, then swarm of monsters, and then a roge queen. They weren't all there was either.
Trolls, beasts, bugs, there were even dangerous slime monsters blocking some of the roads.
'If I didn't decide to come with these people, I don't think any of them would have made it till here.'
They were about to reach their destination so they would part ways soon. The merchant leader, the young lady who had been leading them all, had been brave throughout this journey.
The brain was pretty surprised by her composure and adaptability. She was shocked by many situations, but she still managed to lead her people and protect her goods with the help of the hired help.
She asked him for help many times, even guiding him and calling, leading him during the battles. She actually proved to be helpful thanks to her good judgement.
'I wonder if Nol knows about her.'
He certainly knew this person didn't know about him. After the little chat they have had over these last few days, he also knew she wasn't some executive in her merchant guild.
The association that their guild was part of was Nolan's. She was just a low level manager there, but there was much more that she could achieve with her skills.
'Hmmm…'
Brian considered recommending her to Nolan. But all of that can wait.
For the time being, he needed to finish what he was here for.
"This is it, I guess." They had traveled through the river and after traveling on foot some more, they had reached their destination.
"I will be leaving then." The trade city was as lively as it usually is.
The people past the river didn't even know what was going on the other side. After he looked around a little, he also found out that they were the only ones in the area who had come from the center while most others had come past the east border.
"Ummm… thanks-."
"There's no need for that. I just did what I needed to do." Brian had already informed them that he would go on his own once they reached the city.
His main destination was somewhere else so he still needed to travel some more.
"Yes, but! You saved us so many-."
"Don't think too much about it. You did well… good work, all of you." Brian looked around him, at all the people that he had fought with for the past few days.
They did well. Holding their own against all those creatures was no easy task. He was glad that he had such capable people, so he expressed his gratitude and then turned away from them.
"Wow…"
"Who would say he used to be a commoner as well."
"It's probably the result of having a lovely wife."
"Ah, well…"
Those who knew about the Golden Demoness wouldn't really see her as a 'lovely' wife. They didn't know their personal matters, but their relationships must be unique.
Some of them could even imagine what the two of them… they weren't really that wrong though. But they weren't on the right track when thinking about the dynamics between this couple.
"Now that that's taken care of…" Brian moved out of the city and then walked towards the forest area.
His destination was within the empire, but until recently, the place he was going to wasn't included within the empire's structure.
In fact, this was a hidden land that the empire had forgotten or did not know the existence of until recently.
"Hopefully I'm not late…" When he first came here, he was wandering through the forest in search of the exit.
He entered the forest not from the main area the opposite of the trade city, he had come for hunting and then lost his way.
"Now that I think about it, I was pretty surprised to stumble upon that place." After searching for the exit, he suddenly stumbled upon the large tree he was standing before right now.
There was a hole in the tree that radiated Mana, something that piqued his curiosity.
He had come across many dungeons that looked like this, so thinking he had found a new dungeon, he sent Taika in there… but she did not return even after an hour.
She did not tell him anything that was going on in there either. She would usually use their telepathic link to relay the recon information.
He got worried and had no choice but to go in himself, but when he entered the trunk hole, he was astonished when he slid down a slide that insisted on falling down.
This was a new kind of experience for him, but what surprised him even more was the 'world' inside of this dungeon.
"Huuu… it's been a while. Hope they won't scold me much."
When one started sliding down this special slide, they would see a dark world.
The darkness would blind them completely, however, that would change in merely a few moments.
-Surrrrrrrr…
After a few moments, they would find themselves inside a world with a sky above their heads– a blue sky made with countless luminescent stones on the 'ceiling'.
The sky did not seem any different from an actual sky to him. And at the end of this slide, he found a world that had a unique ecosystem of its own.
"Rock-like trees, trees like rocks. The enormous waterfall in the center and a place comparable to paradise."
When he came down here for the first time, he found Taika just staring down at the scenery before her.
She wasn't doing anything. That was the first time he had seen the big tiger just sitting there, enjoying the view.
'She was happy as well.'
They decided to explore the place after that, but when they started doing so, they encountered something… someone, who surprised them even more.
"The blue hair tribe."
Humanoid beings that were mentioned in old folklores of the east. He had heard stories about people smaller than dwarfs. Tiny people no more than one meter tall covered in blue fur like grizzlies.
They were shocked to see a tiger for the first time. But, what they were even more surprised to see…
{ "Huh? Is that… is that you, my lord?!" }
Was the black-haired mage who had entered their land.
