Chapter 174: Whole Lot Of Goodies

Bracing a hand on either side of the now unchained door, Lu’Shaki glanced back at me and waited for my signal before she pushed with all her might, sliding the heavy doors back and revealing what we had ’worked’ so hard to get into.

The room was dark initially, but the moment she pushed the doors open completely and took a step inside a bunch of golden flowers began to glow, illuminating everything and showing us exactly what we were here for.

Or... what I had come here for; like most secret rooms in Dungeons, the obvious centerpiece of this room was a large wooden chest that was already opened, and on either side of it were small tables that had a few things resting on top of them as well.

Scattered around the base of the tables and chest were Crowns and Diadems, and while all of the ’mortal’ treasures were in the middle the Dungeon also offered up a few extra natural treasures as well, so long as you knew what you were doing.

"Well... damn. That is... definitely some treasure. Don’t these rooms operate by uh... ’regurgitating’ any items left behind by the mortals that die here?"

"Mm... it’s best not to think of it that way, I would imagine. Makes you feel less guilty about this, and... well..."

The Orc just shrugged at that before stepping forwards, her eyes honing in on the chest in hopes of it containing a lot more than what we were just seeing; I imagine she was hoping for a plethora of goodies to make us rich, but I knew that these places operated on quality over quantity.

Still, there were some really cool things here that got her excited, primarily a somewhat beat up yet very usable mace that had a few charms dangling from its grip; claws, fangs and even a small icon made from silver that was studded with gems, immediately letting the Orc know that this came from one of her kindred.

"Well I’ll be damned... actual real Orcish steel, all the way out here. Usually this stuff stays up north with the tribes, utilized by the guards and chieftesses, but... someone must’ve either stolen it or ran away with it. Huh..."

Studying the weapon carefully, Lu’Shaki stepped aside when I approached the chest as well, giving me space to look around and take stock of what else we had gotten; I was specifically looking for that ring, and after a moment of searching I found it.

A simple silver band with a murky opal resting atop it, the Dream Runner Band was another item that looked unassuming yet offered a lot of benefits, mainly because wearing it before going to sleep gave you the ability to ’double’ the effects of sleep, giving you more time out of your day.

It also allowed you to control your dreams and potentially use them to practice, but the game made sure to let you know this was an Eroge whenever that option was picked because your subconscious yearned for sex, and trying to train with this ring was almost impossible.

The amount of bonus scenes it had offered in the game though made everyone determined to find it, and thankfully there were many, many different Dream Runner Bands located around Mythia... this was just the only ’free’ one though, so... yeah.

Slipping it on and moaning softly as a nice, cool rush filled me up, I nodded to myself before looking at the rest of the goodies, wondering what else we might find; in the game it had just been a bunch of random items that usually got sold for more coin, and it would appear it was the same now too...

That mace Lu’Shaki got was probably another enchanted weapon that would react better to an Orc wielding it, so I wasn’t in a rush to try and claim it from her instead; really I was just here for the ring and some more money, but there were some other weapons to choose from too. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶

"Here, this would fit you..."

Handing me a narrow bladed sword, Lu’Shaki added "This is most likely some form of ’magical’ steel, so it should work well with you wanting to cast spells all the time. And the dagger too; probably came from some poor Spellblade meeting their end here." as she handed me a dagger next.

"And if you take those I can take this... not that you were going to want this anyways..."

She lifted a large cuirass from the chest next, which was the last of the gear items that were inside; now all that remained were coins, a few gems, and then two pouches that likely contained either herbs or maybe even potions.

As she admired her new armor I opened those pouches and shrugged when I just saw to bundles of herbs, not getting too disappointed since I could still make use of these; they were likely healing herbs, but I wasn’t too sure, so I was going to just give them to Professor Jezebyra.

Collecting the coins and counting them up, I muttered "Not bad... 108 Crowns, 13 Diadems... Quite a nice haul.", which made Lu’Shaki chuckle as she nodded in agreement, though the moment I began to split them she just got closer to me, making me pause.

"So, instead of giving me the coin, how about you and I spend the night together again, hm~? I wouldn’t mind having you bouncing on my lap again..."

Even though we were both quite drained, she still slid up behind me and snaked an arm around my waist, pulling me into herself and leaning down over me to kiss my cheek, making me blush quite a bit for a multitude of reasons.

The next kiss was a proper one, and I enjoyed the slow, fulfilling kiss to the best of my abilities, savoring her taste and loving how she sucked my breath away before reluctantly parting from me; pressing her erection against me and making sure I knew just how horny I was making her, the Orc waited for an answer while staring at my lips.

"W-We can make that work..."

"Good..."

Another kiss almost made me melt, but I guess she really was drained since she just peeled off of me and gave me a quick smack on the ass rather than pushing me down and fucking me hard and fast...

Gathering up the rest of the small trinkets - jewelry that was unenchanted, gemstones, and some small scraps of metal that might sell for something - and coins to be stuffed into large pouches made me feel like a grave robber, though there were no bodies nearby.

I took a look at the surrounding herbs that the Dungeon offered up and plucked only the ones I knew about, because some of these had ’twin’ herbs that were extremely lethal if not harvested correctly.

Like this gorgeous sapphire rose that let off a small glimmer; it could be an incredibly potent Mana Regeneration ingredient, or it could literally explode into a blue mist that chewed away at your flesh until nothing but bone was left behind.

Yeah, I wasn’t taking that risk, not even when the good ingredient was worth almost 200 Crowns all on its own; if I knew a little bit more I would take the risk, but I sadly didn’t because after a while in the game there was a perk that straight up told you what it was.

Because of that I never learned to distinguish the difference between these kinds of herbs, so I was severely uneducated on them and willing to leave behind so much money because of that, even if I felt my heart bleed a little when the total profit was potentially somewhere around 1,000 Crowns...

"We got everything we could from here? This is definitely a good haul for the day, and I don’t even think it’s evening yet! We should go hit up that bakery that you work at and get something sweet to celebrate, don’t you think?"

"Miss Rose probably has a few things that we could get for cheap, yeah... I just would feel a little bad getting us something and not having something for everyone else, y’know?"

We chatted about the celebration we wanted to have for succeeding here while making our way out of the Dungeon, avoiding the monsters as best we could and backtracking pretty much exactly where we had come from, though in doing so...

"Hey~!"

Someone shouted across the cavern for us, causing us to pause as we looked towards them with curiosity, though the moment we did I felt a rush of adrenaline as I murmured "We need to run." to Lu’Shaki, who was very confused.

Across the cavern was a tall, lithe and fluffy eared Hyenakin that was undoubtedly trouble, something I knew for certain since I recognized her from the game as one of the minor ’villains’ who constantly tried to harm the player.

The wide grin revealed her razor sharp fangs while her reddish brown eyes were almost glowing with that sadistic glee that she always had; if she wasn’t such a horrible person she would be undoubtedly handsome and even more of a fan favorite, but... well...

The moment she saw Lu’Shaki and I sprinting for the exit she shouted "Aww, where are you two going~? I just wanted to play~!", making me shiver before I redoubled my efforts when I heard the soft pitter patter of her boots across the floor.

We made it to the Gate before she did though, and because of that we were able to step inside and enter the ’safety’ of the Academy, and even though she walked through after us I knew we were safe... but I wasn’t happy about this at all.

Not when she was still grinning as she sauntered up to us, her reddish brown eyes alight with sinister curiosity as she looked us up and down hungrily; those fangs shone brilliantly in the light provided by the torches and Gates, only adding to her unnerving and very much unwanted presence.

"Why’d ya run from lil ol’ me, hm~?"
