"Are you sure about this?"

Lu’Shaki crossed her arms and stared at me with a bit of concern while Kha’Miero just shrugged, the two futanari agreeing to come with me for one final push into the Dungeon... really I just wanted to get a little bit of training done again before we went to the bar and got plastered.

"Yeah. I just want to fine tune my shot some more; earlier I could have sworn I was getting better, but I missed three shots in a row! I mean they still hit, but... y’know? I was aiming for their hearts, for their heads, but I just missed!"

Pouting, I stared at the two built futanari and briefly wondered if I looked like a kid getting all angry with her parents or older siblings thanks to the height and size difference, though that was pushed away when Lu’Shaki just shrugged and gestured at the Gate.

They both knew what I was ’paying’ them for taking an extra hour to come with me into the Dungeon again, and I knew that I was going to love~ giving them their payment, but that didn’t mean I didn’t feel a little guilty dragging them back in here.

Especially when Anwen had suggested an earlier arrival at the bar to really get things going, though we had all sort of agreed that this was going to be a late night thing that we did just to feel a little less ’degenerate’ about it.

Acting like we were getting hammered and having sex with randoms at the bar... or that we were going to use those gloryholes again...

I knew I was...

Anyways, I really did want to go back in and get a few more shots off, and I was seriously feeling like I was just a little bit closer to understanding how to actually use the bow with a small amount of expertise.

Those misses weren’t exactly crucial nor were they mistakes, but looking at it from a game standpoint those were me missing a 75% or so chance for a crit multiple times, and that just never felt good.

I know most gamers agreed that anything that wasn’t 95% or more always felt like 50/50, but having it ’happen’ in real life was ticking me off quite a bit, honestly even more than it had when it happened in the game.

So I wanted to go in with a clear mind and a clear goal, take some shots and figure out what might have gone wrong earlier to see what I could improve; I also wanted to take some shots with magically enhanced arrows to test the timings on those for future reference.

A new quiver of arrows, same old bow, and the same monsters and conditions from before; stepping out into the divided canyon that had provided us quite a bit of wealth, there was a surge of confidence in me as I took the lead, telling the two frontliners where I wanted to go and how I wanted to handle things.

To their credit both Lu’Shaki and Kha’Miero were really easy to work with and also quite willing to just do whatever I wanted so long as it wasn’t stupid, which so far wasn’t one of the things I had asked them to do.

Our first encounter was a smaller one, perfect for me to warm up; three of those ice tusked wolves were standing over a bovine corpse of some kind, tearing at the flesh and feasting to their hearts content, unaware of our presence.

About fifty feet away and stationary, the three were perfect targets for me, so I carefully nocked an arrow, took aim and steadied myself, mentally projecting the shot; when I felt that everything was accounted for - range, wind, the target’s movements and more - I let the bowstring go and watched the arrow fly with bated breath.

It covered the distance quickly, and soon enough the arrow slammed into the back of the center wolf’s head with a meaty thunk, dropping it immediately; I had another arrow on the string right after that, but this shot was harder.

The two remaining wolves were looking around and snarling, so I had to anticipate their movements and account for that before letting the second shot go; it was hard, but they were still remaining in a simple spot.

Maybe not easy for a kill shot, but enough to wound it severely; that was my goal, and it was achieved in another few short seconds, the second of the wolves dropped to the ground with a whimper now that its neck was pierced.

That left the final wolf, and it was staring right at us thanks to the noise from the second shot; its gaze was heavy as it stared at me, and before I could launch the third arrow it tucked tail and ran, sprinting through the snow and weaving around at random.

"Well... two out of three isn’t that bad. Those pelts should be good too; I think that means you’re buying us a few rounds of shots, Natalie~!"

Smacking my ass and grinning at me, the Orc walked forwards while Kha’Miero nodded in agreement, remaining a step behind me as the two escorted me over to the corpses; her eyes lingered on my rear and I could feel her desire growing even as she remained as stoic as ever.

However, halfway across the snowy mountainside we felt the ground trembling, and immediately all three of us were looking up towards the top praying that it wasn’t what we were thinking; of course it was though, and we could see a giant wave of snow and rock rushing towards us, closing the distance rather quickly.

All of our thoughts about the wolves, about sex, about heading to the bar tonight were out the window, and without any extra thoughts the two futanari turned back towards the Gate and began to run.

I was a step behind them, my inexperience and hesitation slowing me down a little as we all rushed for the exit, though more of my inexperience came to bite me as I tripped over something in the snow, causing me to faceplant behind them.

Before they could even attempt to grab me though the trembling from the avalanche caused the ground beneath me to give in, sending me down into a cave and separating me from them; I wasn’t able to think for very long either since I smacked against a rock and promptly passed out, the sharp blossoming of pain being evaded for the time being as I sank into the darkness, literally and figuratively.
