It All Started With Hatred-Chapter 161: Dinner at her uncle house part two
After leaving the cemetery. Ben and Petal stood near his car talking.
"Come with me and have dinner." Ben offered.
Petal looked at the watch in her hand, noticing that it was almost dinner time. She supposed that it wouldn’t be harmful to have dinner with her uncle.
"Alright. I will come." Petal replied. signaling.
----
While she was on the way to her uncle. Petal took her phone out from the bag to text Ethan and tell him that she’s having dinner in her uncle’s house. Sending the text for him she waited to reply.
[At Ben’s home?] He texted back.
[Yes. He invited me and I couldn’t refuse.] She replied.
[I’m coming too.] He texted back. Surprising Petal.
[I will be fine. No need to worry.] She replied. Knowing that he won’t be convinced.
[I will be there in an hour. ] He texted back.
Shaking her head hopelessly. Petal smiled to herself. Such possessive man. She thought to herself. Now she was eager to see the look on Ben’s face when he saw Ethan on the doorstep of his house.
Reaching the house. Petal got out of the car looking around her. Ben was right. The house was close to the Willsons estate.
"Come. No need to be shy, Petal." Ben urged her to enter the house." You have a beautiful name. I’m still wondering what rose peta, did Olivia name you after." He added as he walked ahead of her. His cane hits the floor of the empty corridor.
Petal smiled at his question. She never had thought about that. She always thought that her name was odd. She never met someone with the same name.
"Prepare dinner for three. We have guests." Ben ordered the maid that came to take his coat.
Nodding her head. The maid glanced at Petal as she walked away.
Petal, who was busy looking around the house, heard what Ben said and turned to look at him. "How did you know?" She asked him. signaling.
Ben laughed as he made his way towards the living room signaling her to follow him and she did.
"Sit beside me." Ben said. Patting the space beside him.
Sitting beside him. She waited for him to reply to his question.
"Oh. The question about that Wilson boy." Ben said, `` Irritated."Of course. He will come because doesn’t trust me. I will do the same. Be careful Petal. Men like me or Ethan can be manipulating. I don’t want you to get hurt." He replied. Confusing her.
Petal thought about his words for a moment. Before she asked him."Have you manipulated someone?" Signaling.
Ben expected her question. Of course, she will be smart like her mother. But he hoped that she would be smarter than her mother." I didn’t manipulate someone. But I failed a person and still haunts me to this day." He replied.
"Is that a story for another day too?" Petal asked. signaling. A smile on her face.
"Let’s get to know each other first before I tell you stories." Ben said, patting her head.
Petal smiled and nodded her head. He seemed to be a warm person unlike what she had thought.
"I heard that you’re a musician student." Ben said."Do you like what you’re doing?" He asked.
Nodded her head. Petal said. "At first I was learning violin but now I’m studying chelo." She replied. signaling.
Ben was about to say something when they heard the doorbell ringing."The Wilson’s boy is here. Now the mood is completely ruined." He said, making Petal laugh.
Looks like these two are never going to get along. She thought to herself.
"You could have been a little late." Ben said in an Irritated tone seeing Ethan entering the living room.
Ignoring his words. Ethan made his way towards Petal pulling her in his arms as he glared at Ben."Your hands are cold. This room is cold." Ethan pointed, pulling away, noticing the temperature in the room was lower than it should be.
Petal’s face became red. She tried to tell him that it’s okay but he already pulled away walking towards the fireplace adding logs into the fireplace.
Ben watched with amused eyes as he added the logs to the fireplace with a frown on his face. Turning to look at PetaI who’s cheeks were pink. Looking at the hearing aids in her ears. He felt guilty. It was his fault that she was born weak and disabled.
"Bring a new clean blanket. Now." Ethan ordered the maid who brought a tray full of two wine glasses and one juice cup for Petal.
The maid looked at Ben wanting to know what to do and nodded her head. Immediately the maid left the room and went back quickly with a new blanket.
"Set here." Ethan said, pointing at a chair near the fireplace as he wrapped the blanket around her.
Holding onto the blanket. Petal looked at Ethan. Noticing how he was glaring at Ethan. Tugging on his sleeve. She pointed her chin at the chair across from her for him to take. Maybe this will end the glaring war between them.
"How do you feel? Warm?" He asked in a tender voice and a warm look in his eyes as if she was going to break if raise his voice.
Petal nodded at her but he wasn’t convinced. Touching her hands. Ethan felt relieved. Her hands were warmer now."If I was late, maybe she could have frozen to death." Ethan finally replied to his words.
Turning to look at Ben. Petal noticed the murders look on his face. This is going to be long. She thought to herself.
"That will never happen. If there’s someone who might be hurt, here is you. Or did you forget what you did?" Ben said. striking a nerve.
Petal’s body froze. She turned to look at Ethan who looked at her with eyes full of guilt. He didn’t say anything but only kept looking at her.
