Thank you so much for the votes and gifts. But I need more comments.

I hope it’s a blessed year for everyone.

Thank you.

They said love conquers all. That’s what Ethan once heard. But he wondered if love can heal? If love can bring her back to him?.

Petal was young. She had a full life ahead of her. A successful future. But look at her now. Laying in the bed almost lifeless. In a coma. Unknown when she will wake up. Three weeks have passed and nothing happened. She didn’t even blink or move her fingers. Medically. Doctors hope to decrease after three months if the patient doesn’t wake up. But in many cases. People did wake up. Some after one year. Some after ten years. He doesn’t know and he won’t lose hope.

Ethan left all the work to his brother and mother. All the family work. He only showed up when he needed to. He knew that he won’t be able to be in good use and he let the family business slow down. So he handed everything to Issac and Lana. Right now. He can’t focus on anything other than taking care of Petal.

Staring at the girl who was sleeping on the bed. He caressed her face gently. She was breathtaking even when her eyes were closed. Her long eyelashes dark reaching her cheeks. Her skin seemed to be paler than usual. She had lost blood that day. But thankfully. Ben was there. Their blood types were the same.

"How’s my angle?" Ben asked as walked inside the room. Putting the flowers on the table.

Speaking of the devil, he shows up. Ethan thought to himself.

"Beautiful like every day." He replied, still caressing her cheek. Kissing her forehead. He sat back on his chair.

Without saying anything. Ben stood there looking at his daughter. Reaching for her head. He gently caressed her black hair. A hurtful sob left his lips as he pressed his forehead on hers. It’s been three weeks but Ben still couldn’t register what happened. When he found her after a long time. He was finally happy to be with her. By her side, this had to happen. He hadn’t even been able to hear the truth. That he’s her father. He lost her mother and now he’s lost his daughter.

Was such a bad person that the heavens are punishing him by depriving him of his loved ones?

Ethan watched as her father cupped her face. Kissing her forehead wiping the tears that fall on her. Standing up. He left the father and daughter pair to have some privacy.

A year later. At a bar.

Jacob was drinking the night away just like every night here. He had stopped working for the Willsons and went back to his apartment six months ago. After the doctors announced that Petal entered a permanent coma state. He left there. Guilt was eating him from the inside. Though he knew it wasn’t his fault.

Paying for the drinks. He picked up his jacket and walked out of the bar. Unlocking his car. He got inside it. Driving back towards his apartment. The summer rain was pouring heavily this night. Turning Windshield Wipers. He lowered the car’s speed. It was late at night and it wasn’t crowded. The sound of the heavy rain calmed his mind a little.

While he was driving. Jacob noticed something on the road. Stopping the car. He lowered the car window to get better. A girl standing under the heavy rain in the middle of the night.

How troublesome. He muttered under his breath as he picked up his umbrella from the back seat and got out of the car. Running towards where the girl was."Excuse me miss. Do I need a ride?" Jacob asked, noticing how she was shivering. Looking down at her feet he saw blood mixed with water.

She was bleeding!

"Miss. We need to go to the hospital. You seem to be hurt." Jacob said, shaking her shoulder.

"No, please don’t take me to the hospital. Please. They will start to ask who’s the father and I... ah." The girl suddenly started shooting and crying before she collapsed clutching her stomach.

Jacob didn’t understand what she meant. But he had a feeling that this girl was in big trouble. Lowering himself to his knees. He spoke to her gently."Okay. No hospital. I will take you to my place. Is that alright with you?" Jacob asked as he helped her to stand up.

Nodding her head. The girl guided her towards the car. After settling inside the car. He turned to look at her. Her lower body was covered in fresh blood. "We should do something about the bleeding. Can you show me the wound?" He asked and she immediately flinched.

"It’s not a wound. Can I ask you to buy something from the pharmacy?" She asked looking at him hoping he won’t ask her further.

Nodding his head. Jacob turned the engine car on and drove to the nearest pharmacy. From the corner of his eyes, he saw the girl clutching her stomach tightly with her head lowered. As she was trying to endure the pain.

He couldn’t help but think about what might have happened to her. He wasn’t ignorant Jacob knew what was happening to her. But if she is married. Why did her husband take her to the hospital?

But then he remembered her word’s from earlier. It’s better not to judge her. Right now she is just a person who needs help.

After buying everything she needed from the pharmacy. Jacob took her to his apartment. By the time they reached the apartment. It was almost dawn. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞

Jacob sat in the living room while that stranger girl was in the bathroom.
