John Wicked: Endlessly Evolving My Pet Monsters-Chapter 40: Voices, Arrival
Chapter 40 - Voices, Arrival
Inside the Monster Paradise, Alfred faced the two Silver-rank Monsters in the two cages.
Pymon was also there, looking at them.
"Humph, why would we do that?!"
"That's right. We aren't calling that human our Lord!"
Pymon spread his wings angrily and shouted, "You blind assholes, how dare you not understand the greatness of Master John?! It's your fortune to be here!"
Pymon's voice was sharp and pricking, almost like that of someone between an adult and a kid.
In one cage, the Shardstone Crocodile snorted as it looked around. "It's a goddamn empty place. Your Master put me here from that lush jungle before I could return to my swamp!"
"Hiss! Yeah, this place isn't that good, buddy." In the second cage, a Glimmerlune Snake with shimmering blue and wooden green scales hissed, unimpressed. Its voice was chill but also despondent.
"Brother Alfred, let's just kill these idiots and eat them," Pymon snorted.
"Master's orders are different," Alfred calmly spoke, his voice mature and stable.
Stepping ahead, he stared at them, causing both the Crocodile and the Snake to flinch.
"Man, don't eat me. I'll live here," the snake said, sighing. "I just hope I can eat something daily, but I don't see much food here."
Saying that, the snake glanced at the other eagles, hunger in its eyes, before quickly looking back at Alfred.
"Listen, this world is my Master's personal world. He can do anything here. He can create even better forests and swamps eventually. You just need a bit of patience," Alfred spoke, his eyes narrowing. "But you have to stay obedient here and live together like a family."
"What?! Then what am I going to eat? Grass?" the crocodile shouted.
"You'll eat my shit!" Pymon sneered.
"You puny bird, release me and I'll show you!"
Howl!
Alfred used Vorpal Howl, weakening both Monsters as they quickly went deeper into the cage, fearful of Alfred.
[Bwahahaha! I was right to add the voice function!]
"Who?" Alfred and others were startled to hear the voice.
[Relax, relax. I am the brother of your Master John. Anyway, you two little brats. It'd be really wise if you lived in harmony here, you know? Because...your new Master John Wicked, can also do something like this.]
Suddenly, a swamp surrounded by trees appeared near the cages. Moreover, the swamp's water had attributes of Earth and Crystal suitable for the crocodile, while the trees had attributes of Wood and Sound for the snake.
Indeed, the snake's eyes lit up as it heard the spiritual sound frequencies from the rustling leaves of the tree.
[Of course, these habitats can be bigger, but only if we have more Monsters and some more growable spiritual resources here.]
"There you have it," Alfred said as he looked at the crocodile and the snake. "My Master picked you two out of so many Monsters to make you a part of a better family. You should be grateful."
"That's right," Pymon said with a proud beak. "Master John can also evolve you two perfectly. He knows about us more than we know ourselves!"
"But I feel like he randomly picked me. Because I was just chilling and was about to hunt, but then I suddenly felt a slap on my butt, and I was here," the crocodile slowly spoke, uncertain but also curious after seeing the swamp.
"It doesn't matter. He can see the potential of Monsters with a single glance. He picked you because he saw potential in you," Alfred calmly explained before adding. "Now, I will release the two of you."
"But if you hurt another one here, then Master John will cut you up and cook you before we have a feast."
"That's right!" Pymon followed up with a threatening look.
"I am happy to live here, brothers from other mothers," the snake said with a grin. "Seeing such magic of making trees out of nowhere, I believe in you, great Master John."
Pymon's eyes shone. "So you do understand, brother."
[It looks like the crocodile is also convinced now. Currently, Brother John is traveling, but it won't be long before he reaches the destination and develops this place more.
[And don't worry about food. There won't be any lack of it, hehe. Alfred, I am releasing them now, so take care.]
"Thank you, Sir Chuthulos."
[Haha, just call me brother. You and John are my brothers.]
"Ok, brother Chuthulos."
...
Three hours passed by in the blink of an eye.
Azelis woke up John as they arrived at the Ouroboros City of the Heavenred Region, where Ouroboros Hall's headquarters were situated.
She woke up John and slowed down the dragon.
"This is our city. Take a look."
John groggily woke up before standing up.
As his vision cleared and he saw the city, his eyes widened and his jaw dropped.
Towering buildings laced with glowing glyphs, spirit arrays pulsing like living veins. Flying beasts carried spirit-tech vessels overhead, weaving through floating lanes. Holographic screens flashed everywhere—combat replays, taming news, entertainment shows—all powered by Monsters and other exotic resources developed by spirit tech.
Above, the skies bustled with movement. Flying vehicles zoomed across invisible lanes, each one powered not by crude combustion but by intricate spirit-tech engines, drawing energy from refined spirit engines powered by spirit crystals. Some were mounted atop tamed monsters—sky whales, electric raptors, and plated thunder turtles, to name a few—each attached with large carriages carrying passengers.
A massive projection of a dragon coiled around the central palace, built around the small mountain, roaring silently every few minutes—Ouroboros Hall's headquarters.
The streets shimmered, paved with smooth roads and lights, a bustling population that reminded John of the modern cities back on Erath.
The entire city buzzed with a strange yet harmonious rhythm and undeniable imprint of Monsters—technology derived from the darlings of this cosmos.

"This is our city," Azelis said with a smile. "Ouroboros."
John blinked, still staring.
'What the fuck?'
"This is indeed a different world..." John felt like he jumped from the medieval age to the modern age after crossing three thousand kilometers.
As the dragon flew towards the mountain that was further from the city, facing the shimmering ocean far ahead that he could see, John asked, "If the cities here are so advanced, why are the other four regions so backward in comparison?"
