Meanwhile...

Still hiding in the jungle brush, Razorstella, Springerdermain, and Screamira kept a close eye on the battlefield as their zakos traded places with the Golden Gorilla Union warriors.

While they were happy that their side had essentially won the conflict, they were a little annoyed at not being able to participate.

The Kaijin were creatures of combat, after all.

[Okay, and it looks like the last of the zakos have just cleared the edge,] Springerdermain observed. [But it also looks like the ringmaster's friend is being held in a hostage standoff situation. Should we interfere on that?]

[Probably not,] Screamira answered. [I've seen enough crime movies to know that in a situation like that, outside interference tends to end badly for the hostages.]

[I don't know, I bet I could move fast enough to slice that old fucker's arm and free—]

[Screamira, Razorstella, Springerdermain!] Nepeherage suddenly interjected via long-range telepathy. [We have a situation that's about to get real loud. You all need to provide cover for the mortals soon.]

[How soon?] Razorstella asked as she and her fellow Kaijin got ready for some action.

BOOM!

[NOW!]

...What happened?! ...

'Alright, motherfucker, get ready for some payback!'

Despite being absolutely pissed about the fact that his own attack was being used against him, Zhen Liu knew better than to let his emotions sway him into inaction.

Concentrating his power into his [Veteran's Bone Club], Zhen Liu prepared to use it to send Smoking Mirror's [Godoku Blast] directly back at him.

Granted, he had no idea whether or not this would lead to a murderous ping-pong situation where they would be knocking the same attack between themselves until someone fucked up, but he was too focused on trying to turn this situation around.

However, before he could follow through, Porcelain Doll and Corpse Doll made the first move.

More specifically, the twin Kaijin stepped forward, back to back, and prepared to intercept the attack themselves.

'What are you two doing?! Get out of the way!'

[No need to worry, Caretaker,] Corpse Doll assured her creator. [We got this.]

[If anything, I think we might be able to make him regret using that move in the first place,] Porcelain Doll added on.

[Ready, sister?]

[Ready!]

Moments before Smoking Mirror's attack made impact, Porcelain Doll and Corpse Doll began to circulate their respective aether throughout not just themselves but each other as well.

But it wasn't just aether flowing between them.

Zhen Liu could sense that curse energy from Corpse Doll's body parts was in the process of being exchanged with the blessing energy that was part of Porcelain Doll's existence.

As this energy flow continued, Zhen Liu had the vague notion that he was staring at the physical embodiments of "Yin and Yang."

[Ready, sister?]

[Ready!]

And right when the blast made impact, the twin proto-kaijin sisters struck it with their palms in a coordinated manner, somehow stunning the attack as an audible crack like thunder could be heard echoing through the room.

Once it was in their palms, the Doll Twins proceeded to counterattack.

[Follow my lead!]

[Sure thing!]

Guiding the energy blast with their hands, the twin proto-kaijin bent it around themselves in a circular manner and threw it back into Smoking Mirror's face.

[Yin-Yang Reversal!]

This wasn't a simple redirection though.

Under the guidance, the twins infused the attack with cursed and blessing energies, which synergized with the innate [Vice] and [Virtue] in the attack and exponentially increasing the power behind it.

As such, Smoking Mirror found himself staring down the barrel of an even more powerful blast than from before.

Making matters worse, since he already had a body, he couldn't absorb this attack like before.

"Shit."

Instead, he actually had to defend himself.

[Reflective—!]

...And now real time...

^Tell you what, Kidanna^ Duke Diamoro began to say while still keeping his blade to Lythero's throat. ^If you let him go, I'll let your boy toy here go too. And as a show of faith, we'll do it at the same time. Agreed?^

At his question, Kidanna simply stared daggers at Duke Diamoro while subtly tightening her grip around Alfonzo's neck.

^I asked, do you agre—^

BOOM!

^WHAT THE FUCK?!^

In the midst of what should've been the final battle between the Golden Gorilla Union and the Silver Jungle Dragon Shipping Company, a somewhat unexpected event interrupted all of the fighting.

When that first quake rocked the battlefield, the Silver Jungle Dragons had mentally prepared themselves for the possibility of an aftershock affecting the field once more, while the Golden Gorilla Union warriors were unaware of this occurrence and weren't as mentally prepared.

However, none of that mattered as the entire area was rendered awestruck by a sudden black and white pillar of light blasting out of the ground and towards the heavens.

Many of the warriors present, regardless of their affiliation, could feel the sheer power radiating from this pillar and became awestruck.

Some wanted to run away, others wanted to stick their face in and feel the power wash over them in its totality, but the end result of all of these conflicting feelings was that they were stunned silent.

Well, most of the warriors present were.

...

"Oh shit."

"Is...is that because of your boy?"

"Yes. Yes it is."

Bellona, Harriet, Alicia and Alice had arrived with the Golden Gorilla Union and had engaged with the fighting right alongside them.

However, unlike their opponents and counterparts, they were a little more prepared to mentally handle the possibility of a [Chaos]-ladened attack rocking the area.

Well, Alicia and Bellona were ready.

Alice was a little shocked, but she managed to recover thanks in part to her cultivation stage reaching the Aether Lord stage. One does not reach such a level without being able to reaffirm their mind like a rock.

Harriet on the other hand, was a little shell-shocked.

"Does this regularly happen with your fiancee?"

"Maybe?"

"This cannot be healthy for your relationship."

"You'd think...wait a minute, is that Razorstella?"

...

"And it appears, Zhen Liu finally got to trading blows with whatever was in that challenge," Zhen Tai commented to Zhen Xing and the others.

Shortly after being freed, the Zhen Clan scions and Zhen Liu's allies from Dozing Salamander all decided that the best course action in this situation was to run away from all of the fighting since this technically wasn't their fight to begin with.

However, they changed their mind after they saw Kidanna and Lythero get involved.

So they had front row seats to the madness that was this pillar of light bursting out of the ground.

Not only that, but they could detect the energies mixed into this display of absurdity as well.

"That's definitely Xiao Liu's [Chaos] being mixed into this thing, but there's something more to it...wait, doesn't it feel a little like that Smoking Mirror guy from before?"

"Who?"

"That young guy who clearly had his ass possessed by some ancient spirit."

"How the hell—wait, is that Springerdermain?"

...

^What the f—^

^THINK FAST, FUCKNUTS!^

^WAH!^

^BAH!^

Thanks to the sudden appearance of this pillar of light, Duke Diamoro was distracted just long enough for Kidanna to do something a little drastic in order to save her beloved Lythero.

In the moment that Duke Diamoro wasn't thinking of slicing open Lythero's neck, Kidanna used that as an opportunity to throw Alfonzo at him.

Literally.

The sudden impact of having a reptilian Bloodliner being thrown at his face was so shocking that Duke Diamoro had no choice other than to let Lythero go in order to catch Alfonzo.

[Zephyr Step!]

Once he was freed, Kidanna rushed forward using an aether art in order to catch and secure Lythero.

^Are you okay?^

^Yea, thanks to you,^ Lythero said with sincere gratitude. ^But I need to get my swords.^

^Of course.^

During the battle between Lythero and Duke Diamoro, the former's swords were scattered all over the place. Everytime Lythero tried to leverage one of the blades, they ended up getting disarmed in the process.

Now that he was free though, Lythero and Kidanna used this moment as an opportunity to reclaim this tossed blades.

However, Duke Diamoro wasn't going to let them do this unimpeded.

^Oh no you don't, you peasant brats,^ Duke Diamoro snarled. ^Alfonzo, do you still have that treasure I gifted you all those years ago?^

^The one I used to steal Kongara's treasured fists? Yes, I keep it on my person at all times.^

^Lend it to me. I need to make use of its other function.^

^Of course, my lord.^

From his person, Alfonzo produced a golden beetle trinket that was no bigger than a thumb. However, if one were to run their senses over it, they would be able to detect that this trinket was an aether treasure that was the very limit of what could be considered a Gold-ranked Aether treasure.

"[Scarab of Greed], heed of my command. Destroy the blades of the Seven Vagabonds!"

What happened after this command, was a bloodless tragedy.
