However, his companion from the Golden Peng race rushed forward to catch him, sparing him from further injuries.

Zu An sneered at the toppled crowd. “I held back on the Saintess’ account. You won’t be as lucky next time.”

Those planning to attack Zu An immediately stopped what they were doing. His words weren’t intimidating, but the cold look in his eyes sent chills down their spines. For a moment there, they felt like they were facing a deity from heaven.

The crowd was shocked to see the Saintess bringing out her strongest talismans. They anxiously tried to placate her. “Saintess, there’s no need to go this far!”

The Saintess had lost her temper. She looked at them with frosty eyes. “I kindly introduced my lover to you so that you could share the joys of our reunion, yet you seek to kill him?”

The Third Prince quickly stepped forward to mediate, saying, “Saintess, it’s a misunderstanding! We have never heard about your lover, so we thought he might have used underhanded methods to take advantage of you. It’s all a misunderstanding!”

“Do I look as if I was taken advantage of?” The Saintess regretted her actions a little. She was so happy to be reunited with Zu An that she'd let her feelings get ahead of herself. It had been a long time since anyone confessed to her, so she'd forgotten about that.
