Khalifa: Queen in the Apocalypse-Chapter 218: Fleeing Mira
In another block within the interior walls, it was no less chaotic. No, even more so due to the number of people that ended up there as they fled.
ROARRR!
"Noo!" Mira screamed as she narrowly avoided zombie teeth. She was so scared that she almost—almost—forgot about the torturous itch she had been enduring for so long!
She crawled forward to move, and saw something to clutch on. Without thinking, she immediately used it as a bolster to stand up.
It was a person’s hand she pulled and she managed to stand up even if it meant imbalancing the person.
"What are you doing?! Let go of me!" The woman said, and Mira ran away in front of her.
ROARRR!
Mira’s body shook as she felt there was another zombie closing in. Her peripheral vision caught the woman she held before and her hand extended.
Using all her strength, she pushed it in front of the zombie, giving herself enough time.
"Kyaaa!!"
Mira was unfazed and took advantage to run away, not even bothering to look at the helpless crying face of her latest victim.
"Mira!! You bitch—kyaaaaa!!"
Mira didn’t expect to be called so she ended up looking behind. She saw the poor woman that had now been bitten, slowly eaten alive.
She realized it was Cici, that maid who took Hilten’s attention! An ugly smile appeared on her face as she ran, feeling a bit happy.
So she was left behind as well! Bitch! Deserve it!
She ran and ran, avoiding zombies by either luck or by pushing bad luck onto others.
Her knees bucked at some point and she found herself in a small alley to get a breather. She covered her mouth to keep herself from screaming when she saw zombies pass by, and eating another person.
The zombie creepily turned to her direction, and she couldn’t hold her scream anymore, running to the opposite direction.
As she ran, she persisted and looked around, trying to find her lover—her only way out of this situation.
Hilten, where are you?
When the zombies breached, Hilten and the others went to meet to make a plan or, at worst, head to an escape room.
This situation… was definitely for escape, and he didn’t return to her nor send someone to fetch her.
It was obvious that he had left her behind!
But how to get to him? Regardless of whether he abandoned her, she had to clench onto him if she wanted to survive!
But there were zombies everywhere. The meat shields she could use were only so many.
She couldn’t find one nearby and decided to hide for now. She ran to a house and to a stair, going up a balcony.
She closed the curtains and doors, hiding with her back, trying to avoid detection from those on the ground.
She sat there, shivering, crying. It wasn’t helping that her itchiness was getting worse and worse and she could barely stop herself from ripping her own skin off!
She shook, feeling her sanity slowly slip away, but she heard the sound of blades which snapped her back to the present.

She gasped and crawled to the window, looking up to see hope in the form of a flying machine.
Helicopter!
They’re definitely there!
She shook her head and gathered all her courage to go down towards it.
Unfortunately, because of the noise, everyone else—human or zombie—were doing the same.
Her heart paused as two helicopters lifted off, narrowly avoiding the mob of humans that tried to get in.
"Please! Help us!" They yelled, but it was no use and the zombie mob right behind them quickly consumed the remaining humans in the area.
The others behind immediately fled in different directions, trying not to be there by the time the zombies were done with their meals.
However, the helicopter started hovering in a direction—which was near hers by coincidence—and her heart dropped.
Mira, who was behind the crowd gasped as she sensed the change of flow. She quickly pushed another person forward, going in a different direction.
Sure enough, she heard screams of terror explode right behind her as the monsters followed the noise of the helicopter.
Mira was near a building and she ran up to get to higher grounds. She estimated where it could be going and went there. It would be too late to go beyond the second floor and she immediately went to the edgemost room.
She was lucky the zombies had long followed the noise and the monsters that had access to the balcony had jumped off.
Her heart dropped as she saw the helicopter go higher and higher, and she could see a familiar figure there. There were only two machines left and naturally space was limited.
Obviously, there wasn’t a space for her, so she was left behind.
"Hiltennn!!!" She yelled and he looked at her, before turning his head back up.
She watched in despair as the helicopter hovered higher and higher from the ground.
"Hiltennn!" She yelled to the top of her lungs. She yelled and yelled until her voice cracked, tears flowing down her eyes.
The farther he went the more Mira’s heart turned cold.
It can’t be! This can’t be the end!!
What went wrong? Things weren’t supposed to be like this!
Mira, at this time, still couldn’t think of how big the butterfly effect was.
Of course things changed from what she remembered.
First, General Lee rescued, pushing forward the rescue mission, and maximizing Ryo as a force in the battlefield rather than in the helm. This meant that the variables of the two were considered by the general and Hilten before they attacked.
More importantly, in the ’book’, because the rescue hadn’t happened yet at this point in time, Kylo and the others were still alive at the base—valiantly protecting it.
"Hiltennnnn!!" She screamed, gathering attention to her, though everyone was too busy with their own arse to care.
Some zombies had noticed her and had begun to scratch on the walls. If she kept at it, they may also pile up until they reached her.
She sobbed and had no choice but to shut her mouth, trying to hide, and glaring bitterly at the helicopter about to fly off.
CRACKLES
Suddenly a loud explosion of electricity crackled nearby, and a strong bolt of lighting from the ground hit the blades of the two helicopters, causing them to veer off course.
Mira watched in morbid fascination as the helicopter had no choice but to roughly land, one even falling to the side, with zombies nearby lunging towards it.
She saw the handsome dark-haired man approach, crackling with electricity and still incredibly handsome.
Kylo!
He’s here?!
Then, Mira paled, a wave of emotion flowing inside her.
Was that woman alive?!
