Khalifa rested her pretty head on his strong arms. Her dainty hand was on his tattoo, tracing each line. The tie was now hanging on her wrist, broken from the headboard at some point, and the combination of her and the fabric’s light touches was a bit ticklish.

It made his calloused hand resting on her waist move, similarly tickling her.

She giggled, gently pushing his hand. She turned to him with a sly smile. "Did you always want to use a tie on me?"

"I certainly wanted to tie you down," Hugo admitted, getting him a light slap on his hard chest.

Hugo’s face turned serious though as he pinned her underneath him. She blinked and could only succumb when Hugo leaned down to capture her lips, kissing her with intense passion, longing, and maybe a bit of anger.

"You know that all of your men wanted to have you all to himself, right?" Hugo asked her, as if confirming.

"Hmn, but what to do… I want all of you."

Hugo blinked before breaking into a chuckle. "Hm, that’s my queen," he said with a hint of surrender, rubbing his face on her sensitive shoulder and neck.

She smiled and turned them over again, resting her body on him while shifting the topic to a more wholesome one.

"I’m happy you have family to accompany you here," she said. He was definitely much luckier than her other men, and she was glad at least one of them had blood relatives still around.

Hugo smiled, caressing her shapely waist. "Do you like them?"

"Very," she said, "I never did have motherly figures in both lives."

This made Hugo both heartbroken and happy, "Now you have them!" he told her. "Can’t you really stay? They’ll be your mother and grandmother… and they would really want to spend more time with you.."

"I built my own home, but we can visit each other often."

Hugo was disappointed, but he respected her wishes. "I know, but whenever I think I can only see you for a bit every week or even more, I—

"Ah! They’re repairing a few helicopters. You can take one, so, and you could visit whenever you want—-hopefully daily."

Ah wait, this meant that helicopters here could get back to Kylo and that’d mean Kylo might come for her sooner. Should he backtrack?

Khalifa had no idea what was going on in the man’s head this time. She simply crawled upwards—her soft breasts rubbing on his hard skin—to give him a peck at the side of his lips.

"Haven’t you heard home is where the heart is? You have two homes, one here and one with me."

Hugo chuckled and he pulled her up so he could kiss her better.

Their kisses started relatively innocuous, though tongue was soon added. Soon, their hands expertly roamed the others’ bodies and their bodies rubbed together.

Another sign that a few more rounds was due before sleeping.

Breakfast was prepared relatively early the next morning, with the men entering the room to wake up the couple.

Hugo found himself kicked off the bed as Cauis kissed the woman’s cheek. "Wake up, my love."

Khalifa slowly opened her eyes, every flutter of her lashes ticking their hearts.

She opened her azure eyes and looked at the men and then to the food, and she gave them a bright smile that melted their hearts.

Cauis smiled and lifted her up. She naturally wrapped her arms around him as he went to clean her up.

About an hour later, they headed to the canteen to eat breakfast with Aunt and Grandma.

They chatted for a bit until it was finally time to leave, much to the reluctance of the family there.

"We will miss you," Grandma said, holding her hand.

"Be careful on your travels," Aunty said, hugging her.

The women accompanied them to the helipad, seeing them off even after they disappeared into the sky.

"See you soon!"

Using the helicopter, they arrived at the Peace Base within a couple of hours.

They only had to show their faces and the base allowed the helicopter in without shooting it down.

Their arrival alerted everyone. General Lee was there, and then Ryo, closely followed by Helen.

They looked at them with a smile, especially relieved to see Claire and Chris safe and sound.

Helen went over to hug the girl. "Goodness… Claire… I’m so happy you’re okay…"

No one would have predicted that Hilten and Mira would do what they did. At the time, they took Claire in the name of Khalifa. But when Chris sensed some discrepancies, they immediately attacked, also taking him with them.

The helicopter was already high up by the time their forces arrived, and the pair escaped with the hostages.

Ryo wanted to rescue her badly but they were suddenly attacked by mobs, one of whom could control fire!

Since then, they barely had any rest, how could they have time to go rescue people?

They were relieved to find them safe now, and they were glad to see even more strong people in the base.

"I’m okay," Claire mumbled as she embraced the teacher, and the two women held each other’s hand as they told each other what happened while they were apart.

As close as the women were, the men behind them looked at each other awkwardly.

Ryo sighed and stepped forward, nodding at him. "I’m glad you two are okay."

"Likewise."

Cauis, who was talking to the general, asked. "Did anything happen while we’re gone?"

The general sighed and looked at their party. "Let’s go to my house," he said, "It’s a long story."

They headed inside Ryo’s house where his mother was preparing for a meal. She adjusted the amount to fit everyone’s stomach after greeting them—especially Khalifa and Claire—intimately.

The two women helped her out of course, and so did Cauis, so the meal was prepared relatively quickly. The group happily ate as they chatted, updating everyone else on what had been happening.

Basically, after they left, the Peace Base focused on rebuilding and recovering the resources around them. They also followed much of Khalifa’s advice, adding policies and regulations that worked well overall.

The first glitch happened when Claire was kidnapped by Hilten, closely followed by their first super zombie encounter. Fortunately, Khalifa had warned them of their existence and they weren’t too caught off guard.

Interestingly, Ryo was the one mostly telling the updates along with Helen. The General nodded at their reports, only adding bits and pieces, but it was obvious the general had designated a lot of tasks to them.

Since General Lee was alive unlike in the books, Ryo didn’t have to be forced to prematurely take the helm. The political matters were left to him to handle, with Ryo focusing on the military strength of the territory.

In contrast, much of the administrative work issues seem to be handled by Helen, and Khalifa could see their synergy even from their reporting alone.

She looked at their dynamics closely, their body language was more than friendly, and she noticed how much in sync they had become during the past week or so of closely working together.

Khalifa blinked.

Hey, has her couple ship #2 also sailed?!
