Author: Decided to skip the triggering roleplay for now. If anyone wants to read it, I’ll probably place them in the Side Stories. Lololol

Days turned to a few weeks, and the world was still in chaos, but at least there were several spots of hope and safety in the world.
During this time, more and more refugees had found the various bases.
The Capitol base became one of the most stable strongholds with Kylo’s leadership. While they had witnessed the most number of upgraded zombies, they also saw the greatest incline in strength because of the fights.
This, partnered with the plasma guns they bought from Hugo—something most would not have access to—caused the base to be the top targeted places to settle in.
Every day, hundreds of refugees piled in, and no matter how skilled Kylo was, things would be very bad for many citizens without Khalifa and Hugo’s support.
Despite the business of the Capitol Base though, Kylo didn’t neglect his woman’s territories.
Kylo set up stations in the Port Town, increasing its security. He had also trained and assigned the trusted personnel he could depend on to care and lead for the bases whenever he wasn’t there.
Speaking of the port base, expansion to cover the entire main activity area of the port town had commenced with large mesh fences to separate it from the rest.
Hugo had sent some more advanced easy to install fences he had just invented to replace it. It was made of metal and magnet with strong electric shocks powered by the sun.
If it worked well, they would also sell it to other bases to create a fast and strong fence that could deal with mutant zombies.
The new steward and guard team would be led by Kylo’s men, and they would be training new forces. Everyone would get good resources as a salary.
The Peace Base had also shown relative peace despite the upgraded zombies. At the very least, inside the base, they were safe, and that was miles ahead of the others in the world.
The internal conflicts in the base had also calmed down. For one, General Lee had finally awakened with an earth ability. This made a lot of people relieved and a lot of ideas to die down.
After General Dino’s death by Ryo’s electricity, the other potential rebels had also calmed down. Further, they had also seen the skills, weaponry, and connections Ryo and Lee had, and they knew it would be stupid to go against them now.
Eventually, these people were humbled enough to cooperate and contribute to the base.
Chris had also been promoted to lead a team of guards. Through Khalifa’s knowledge, a lot of supernatural skills were passed over to her men, which in turn were passed over to their subordinates.
Basically, the guards and fighters in her bases and their affiliates had shown a steep incline in improvement and skills compared to those outside.
As for the medical aspect of Peace Base, it was also very good. Even that doctor who was against Khalifa was scared to do anything suspicious and was working very hard for the territory. Of course, due to this, she was demoted and had to follow Claire instead.

Claire became a head healer in the base. Although she hadn’t graduated, she was extremely smart and had grown enough to be able to think on her feet no matter what. She was intent to work until her third trimester.
Of course, she promised to take work off after that point and it was the only reason why Chris let her work such a high-stress job.
Not that he would have managed to stop his fiance if she decided to do so, of course.
For one, Claire wanted to help the best she could, to save as many lives as she could. She also wanted to learn more about her abilities so she could be her best self. Anyway, she was a doctor herself, how could she strain herself to the point of endangering her precious baby?
She would also hang out with her friends when they had time, allowing for some semblance of work-life balance.
Speaking of Claire’s friends, Laura had become a major player in the logistics department. At some point, he had also begun to formally date her childhood frenemy, Howard.
Everyone saw it coming, to be honest, with Howard figuratively and literally pulling the girl’s pigtails and the girl crying in annoyance.
According to the gossip, Laura broke into tears after Howard’s teasing and ran away. The latter followed and about an hour later, they emerged holding hands.
They bickered a lot, but it was bickering full of love.
Another gossip—one that Khalifa was invested in—was the fact that Ryo finally started dating Helen!
This was much to the relief of everyone, with Ryo’s mother famously celebrating lavishly with some resources Khalifa sent.
They were still in the getting-to-know phase, but everyone could see their chemistry. It was only a matter of time before they went steady.
Hugo had also settled down the mountain base, adding more skylight and sturdy window curtains to make it less suffocating.
They had also taken in a few refugees and learning from the management of the others. Of course, he refused to let people be parasites and implemented rules about it.
He set up a contribution point system, following the capitol and peace base models, where anyone who contributed and worked would have access to resources.
This was so that no lazy jerk would need to be fed.
Of course, there were a few entitled people but he was a gang lord before and he simply threatened to throw them out.
To be fair, even old people and disabled people could get jobs in cleaning, cloth making, and the like. There really were no excuses for not making one’s keep.
Anyway, he settled it in a way there would be no chaos even if he was away (which should be increasingly often).
He, too, was also preparing deputies to care for the base when he wasn’t there. He couldn’t let Khalifa forget about his dick, right?
And finally, the island had seen further growth in terms of productivity. At this time though, Khalifa and her men were in a meeting room located in her villa.
Sigmund called them in, and he apparently had some interesting findings.
