Kingdom Building: Civilization Starts with Divinity-Chapter 113: Mimic Invasion(4)
Briefly reactivating her Aura and Divine Energy Reinforcement, she completely destroyed the third knight in much the same way she did the first.
"Man, not being severely underpowered makes this so manageable." She joked to herself as the others approached her.
They were neither fast nor dangerous in Alchemy’s eyes, but those type 1-2 devils were problematic.
If she wanted to defeat them herself, she was forced to use SP or possibly Aura to deal with them.
’Health is also a resource, I suppose. Hope this doesn’t come to bite me. She sighed as she came up with a plan.
Do what she does best and be a reckless idiot. It had a 100% success rate so far against stronger opponents, so it’d probably work against weaker ones, too.
Into the sky she went, knocking one of the devils to the ground to grab all of their attention. They tried their little slash projectile, but instead of dodging, she did the same thing when dealing with the knight and used one of their allies as a shield.
Unfortunately, their damage was low enough that it didn’t finish him off, and they quickly wisened up to the trick, lowering their altitude to fight in close-quarters combat.
Alchemy lightly clicked her tongue before tossing the devil she had into one of the remaining phantom knives. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞

As she got the notification, the devil stopped moving altogether. She had experience notifications off, so she couldn’t see if it died or was just unconscious, but it was out of the fight for now, regardless.
"That’s effective enough."
Alchemy was elated to know that the knives were probably lethal.
Attacks that dealt percentages of her strength were OK, but when nothing had a health bar, it wasn’t a helpful metric. Especially when hits to vitals usually meant death no matter how much damage was dealt.
She saw the small imps conjuring their fireballs and quickly dashed toward the devils. They naturally followed her, and their projectiles hit their friends once again.
The damage was even more pitiful than before, but damage was damage at this point.
The devils had longer arms than her, and because of that, one was successfully able to grapple with her. It attempted to claw at her face, but she blocked it and threw her own body into a phantom knife.
Just like the first, it fell. But doing that opened her up to the other remaining Devil mimics.
She did manage to block the attacks, but they left deep gashes in her arm.
<Notice: Debuff Bleed(Mid) had been applied!>
<Notice: The source of the debuff has been confirmed to be a Demonic Sorcery or Curse. Debuff has been reduced to Bleed(Minor)>
<Notice: You will lose 1% HP every 5 seconds.>
"Well. At least I know you guys get one shot by the knives."
She had thought the damage was equivalent to around 50~%, but with the second mimic dying showed her that it was dealing at least 90%
She’d be livid if it left them with close to one hp, but that was a possible problem for 3 minutes into the future Alchemy. Ultimately, getting a light debuff was a worthwhile trade for this information.
And with more information, it meant she could be even more reckless.
"Sorry, but. I need to cleanse this as soon as possible." She gave the devils an evil smile before using her superior strength to drag them into Phantom Knives. It took some finagling, and the bleed was adding up, but the imps were all dealt with nearly instantly.
With her side taken care of, she ran back to the base. On her way back, she made sure to check on Sapphire, who was still shivering, but her expression was a bit better.
As she entered the heart of her colony, Nera was nowhere to be seen. Considering the explicitly louder sounds coming from the South, Alchemy had a vague idea of where she was.
When she reached her throne, the debuff was rapidly removed, and the enhanced regeneration gave her a little SP and Aura back—not a noticeable amount, but it might give her an extra second or two before she ran dry.
Part of her wanted to rest for a short while and actually regenerate a meaningful amount, but she couldn’t.
She was unable to because of her sense of duty to her people and because of a convenient little notification from the system.
<Notice: An Extremely Powerful Enemy has breached the barrier! Everyone regroup to the heart immediately.>
"Yeah, genuinely die in a ditch where nobody will find your body." Alchemy scoffed at the system.
The heart, naturally, meant the very center of her land. Or, at least, as close as you could get without risking the immediate destruction of the throne.
Alchemy could only hope that one-shot protection still existed in this world as she rushed outside.
Above the trees, another portal opened—one with an incomparable size.
"Mother Goddess!" Nera shouted as she returned
"Nera! Oh, hey, you look... Great." Alchemy was taken aback by how hurt Nera was.
Nothing spawned so far should be able to damage her significantly. And she didn’t suffer from any deep wounds, but there were a scary amount of superficial ones.
It was like they were trying to kill her with paper cuts.
Behind her, the Verminae forces started appearing in droves. The Wingrazers were the first, followed by the other slower units.
{Sylvan Carvers, Granitects. Find cover in the buildings with the highest HP! The rest of you prepare to drag the threat away from the Throne!} Nera gave a command to the entire hive.
"Where’s Sapphire?" She questioned.
"Resting in the river." Alchemy sighed.
"Mental debuff?"
"Fear." Alchemy nodded.
Nera gave a look that basically screamed that she knew this would happen.
"If I may speak out of turn, Mother Goddess-"
"No. No, you may not. I know what you’re going to say, and the answer is no. I don’t break promises."
"Mother Goddess! I know you care for Sapphi! I do, too, but she is too much of a liability in battle. At least move her to a production or gathering position!"
’Yeah... Let’s waste a Hero++ by designating her as a farmer!’
"After this ends, I will bring up the idea. After this, I’m sure she’ll have an answer ready anyway."
"What... do you mean?"
"For someone so smart, you have zero tact. I’ll explain later. The portal is becoming active. Get ready!"
