Nera’s eyes grew wide as she felt herself grow stronger.

’What? Status.’

Looking at her status, everything seemed normal enough. She had gained 30 levels from the Mimicry Disaster Ordeal, and as such, all of her stats had increased by over 110! The 10% to her base stats was definitely a big deal, and it even allowed both her HP and SP to raise to over 10,000 while under the World Tree’s Authority.

But the name Blanc.

’System. Explain.’

<Notice: The ability to grant power to monsters through names is intrinsic to Witches.>

As she thought. It was the same as what Alchemy did to Sapphire.

’But I’m not a Monster.’

<Notice: Correct. Nera the Wings is a type of Angel.>

’So... What the fuck?’

<Notice: The World Law in this land is different from that of The Edge of the Universe.>

’So I’m not going to get a clear answer from you.’ Nera sighed.

<Notice: No downsides have been detected. The System will update you as new information is discovered.>

That answer didn’t make Nera feel any better, but she couldn’t spend more time questioning it right now. She had already zoned out significantly from all this.

When she snapped back to reality, she saw Melphite on the ground.

"Eh? Miss Melphite! Are you alright!" Nera genuinely panicked.

If she just harmed one of the Dryads, she severely fucked up.

"I... I’m fine!" Melphite reassured her.

"But could you help me up?" She continued to speak with an awkward chuckle.

Once again, Nera gave the dryad her hand; however, when she moved it away, Melphite nearly fell back to the ground.

"Sorry. Truthfully, when stronger monsters like us give names to weaker ones, it drains our Mana. The more potential the monster has, the more Mana it takes. You just have tons of potential! I’ll be fine after some rest, but would you mind assisting me the rest of the way? I’ll guide you."

"Yeah! Of course, Miss Melphite!"

Unsurprisingly, Melphite had begun leading Nera to the heart of their colony. It wasn’t far from where they were. Walking only took them about ten minutes. Thanks to the density of the trees, it blocked vision of the area until they were effectively there.

{Big Sister! You’re back! What... Are you doing?} The Verminae asked.

{I don’t fucking know. Just pretend you don’t know me for me. Just like, be a little defensive but not aggressive.} Nera responded.

However confused her siblings were, it was so much worse for her.

Regardless, as she commanded, the Verminae began to surround the duo from a distance.

"Wait! We mean no harm!" Melphite called out, raising her hands to show that she had no weapons or anything dangerous.

"By Order of the Grand Dryad Misteltein, We’ve come to meet the Witch who rules over this land."

The Verminae looked at each other, unsure what to do.

So discreetly, Alchemy had her Avatar fly toward the hut.

"You... Are the ones the Dryads sent?" She spoke through her Avatar.

Melphite looked at the avatar with confusion painted all over her face.

’Their leader is such a small thing? That’s not what Sir Gravana said.’ Melphite said.

"Eh? You knew we were coming? I-I mean, Yes! That’s correct! Would you happen to be the new ruler of these lands?"

"The one and only. For what reason has such an... Esteemed creature such as yourself come to visit?"

The stares of the numerous Verminae were like sharp blades stabbing into her. They made it hard for her to keep her cool, delaying her answer.

It didn’t help that Nera ended up taking most of her Mana away, so if they decided to attack, then defending herself would be difficult.

"We... Have come to thank you for your assistance in saving the forest.

’We what?’ Both Nera and Alchemy thought simultaneously.

"Are you referring to us defeating those Demon Invaders? They attacked us, and we defended ourselves. It was nothing special." The Avatar stated.

Alchemy wasn’t adverse to the Dryads knowing the true nature of the Mimics, but if they didn’t already, then calling them Demons would hasten this chat.

"S-surely you jest! If not for Sir Gravana warning us about the incoming calamity, the entire forest would have sustained significant damage. He then told us that you, his disciple, were the one who gave him such information."

’That Goddamned dog...’ Nera groaned inwardly.

"Let them through."

Obeying the order given through her Avatar, the Verminae quickly spread out, giving Nera and Melphite a clear path into the Prospect’s Hut.

Shortly after, the butterfly vanished into the building as Alchemy recalled her avatar.

"That... Means they’ve accepted our thanks?" Melphite questioned quietly.

"They don’t seem very mean, at least... Should we head in?" Nera asked

Melphite looked at Nera dumbfounded.

’WHAT ABOUT THESE THINGS DON’T SEEM MEAN?!’ She screamed inwardly.

The Verminae terrified her. She had never heard of, much less seen, such creatures before, and they all looked at her like she was their next meal.

"Yeah... Let’s head in."

<Notice: You have received a message from Alchemy Ennis. Would you like to view it? Y/N>

<Nera. Do you have any idea what she’s talking about?>

Looking at the Notification, Nera could only blink idly.

It had to be the System who gave Gravana that information, and she could guess when it did, but that much information was obvious.

Alchemy wasn’t a total idiot, and would know at least that much, but as far as a motive went... She was honestly drawing blanks
