Kingdom Building: Civilization Starts with Divinity-Chapter 88: Trial Complete!
<Sealed Spirit has been activated!>
<The target is resisting! There is a small difference in power between the Prospect and the target! The target is uninjured!>
<All skills, Magic, Divinity, and Demonic Sorcery will be sealed for 4 seconds!>
Finally, Alchemy got a good look at the creature.
<Name: Tor’cheek>
<Species: Forsaken Dire Tooth Chef(Elite+++)>
<Inclination: Omnivore, Evil, Hungry>
<Thought: FOR THE LOST KING!!>
|<Estimated Level: 48>l
<Highest Stat: INT>
<Estimated Danger: A+>
The beast had a bipedal, muscular form. He stood around 2 meters with a small layer of white fur covering his entire body, excluding his stomach. His eyes appeared to be made of a perfect ruby alongside his claws, which shared a similar red gleam.
As he was captured, he let out a blood-curdling scream.
"Help me, pathetic lesser creatures!" Was what Alchemy’s Communication skill translated it to.
Whatever he tried to do, it didn’t work. With the young Goddess’s chains around him, all of the Dire Rabbits had stopped moving.
"Goodbye."
Taking her hand, Alchemy aimed at Tor’cheek’s neck. As it grew closer, a dull glow began encompassing her hand, cleanly severing the two parts of the monster’s body.
Not even blood was spilled at first.
Right after, Alchemy turned to face the Dire Tooth hoard, but they were all gone.
"He must’ve been a summoner of some kind."
After that thought, Alchemy looked at her hands. Once again, they took another life.
That gross feeling. The one she carried since her very first day still lingered. Part of her was glad that it remained, she didn’t want to become a disconnected, heartless murderer.
From a practical standpoint, that was a bad trait for a ruler to have, but even from a more personal point of view.
Even if she wasn’t a human anymore, she wanted to keep at least a shred of humanity. If nothing else, at least to keep something tying what was to what will be.
However, when she saw her hand glowing, such thoughts vanished from her mind, replaced with an eye-widening revelation.
She quickly took a look at the frontmost system panel.
<Notice: Unrelated SP drainage detected. The Failsafe of the system cannot be activated! Please remember that going below 0 SP can lead to permanent damage.>
Rapidly, Alchemy looked between the notification and her hand.
"I did it!" She shouted, jumping into the air and reaching for the stars.
"How, though? What did I do differently?"
While the feeling was still present, she pondered the possibilities.
Every single fight, she’s been trying to get Divine Energy to coat her body. She was taking far too much damage due to how common magic is in this world compared to A.O.A, so any defensive ability was something she needed to master sooner rather than later.
"A Goddess is a being made out of Divine Power, unlike the Verminae. They’re closer to other lifeforms... Or perhaps a machine, even, using Divine Power and Energy as fuel to live."
That was the basis she was approaching the problem with.
If Nera compared it to bleeding, then it was akin to that fuel source of hers leaking out.
And if Alchemy was made of that very fuel source, bleeding would be difficult. It’s not very often that your skin or muscles spill out of your body like blood.
"Maybe it was like this?"
While SP was draining, thanks to the Ruinous Bloom, she thought of her Divine Energy as what it was. A source of Energy.
Instead of "Bleeding," Alchemy imagined the Divine Energy in her body being discharged outward like electricity.
It took some time before anything happened, but suddenly, a large amount of Divine Energy left her body as her SP drained to not but 10%
Alchemy reeled that energy back in as quickly as she could, coating her entire body with it.
All over her body, that faint, almost divine glow caressed her petite body, giving a foreign, comforting feeling that couldn’t reasonably be described.
Feeling drained as her SP was extremely low, she quickly reeled that energy in further, all the way back into her body, until the glow completely disappeared.
"I did it! I did it! I did it!" She chanted gleefully.
<Notice: You have completed your mission! Return to your throne to turn it in!>
<Notice: One of the rewards of the completed mission was an Instant Claim! Would you like to claim the reward: Fully replenished HP & SP? Y/N>
"Oh... There was an instant claim reward?" Alchemy questioned.
Signified by an asterisk next to the reward, Instant Claim rewards were ones you could get even without returning to the throne.
They were common enough in dungeons, but outside, they were basically non-existent.
"Well, the Healing flowers are pointless now, I guess." She sighed, pressing yes for the full heal.
<Notice: Your HP & MP have been recovered!>
<Notice: You have completed the Trial of Finesse! 3/4 trials have been completed!>
<Notice: You have killed a Forsaken Dire Tooth Chef(Elite+++) and earned 96,000 EXP!>
<Notice: Congratulations! You have leveled up! You have skipped levels 28 through 31, leveling up to 32!>
<Notice: STR has increased from 162 to 181, INT from 180 to 203, and CON to 264. FAI has remained the same!>
All of the joy Alchemy felt was drained from her body as she saw that she had only gained five levels from 96,000 experiences.
"Yeah... I’m feeling the leveling curve. It’s probably impossible to level multiple times if it’s not at least the Elite++." Alchemy lamented.
Although she said that, she wasn’t too upset. If a mere miniboss was an Elite++, the boss must be an Elite+++ or perhaps even a Hero. It certainly wouldn’t give her a small amount of experience.
"That aside, no chest? I beat a trial miniboss, but I didn’t get a reward. This is messed up System. The Possible reward chest is hidden behind a magic lock."
<Notice: A bonus reward would only be achieved by completing the trial the intended way.>
Alchemy looked at the system.
"You’re joking, right?"
<Notice: The System does not joke.>
"Well, you could have told me that before! Mention that in the mission goal or something! You should open the magic lock for me as an apology for not telling me about needing to complete the trial legitimately." She pouted.
<Notice: Unlocking the Magic Lock is not possible.>
