King's Rule: Creating the Strongest Kingdom With My Broken Talent-Chapter 12: Unknown Lord
"First, we’ll likely have to fight other people. We can hide for a bit, but we’ll be discovered, so we have to be prepared for that."
Vesh snapped his finger, and five sleek, small, crystal-like beads made purely of Mana appeared.
"I used King’s Rule to create a 3D manual of Arcane Cultivation using Mana. Put these beads in your Life Nexus and watch how it’s done. If you can learn it, you can also increase your Seed Force fast like me."
Everyone’s eyes couldn’t help but shine.
"That’s quite frankly amazing." Rovina wryly smiled. "If we can learn it, we can indeed face troubles better."
"Hahaha, we shall learn it no matter what!" Arga declared. "To survive and thrive."
"Exactly." Vesh grinned. "I have tried to use my King’s Rule on you all, but it doesn’t work...yet. I believe I will be able to use it on others eventually, but I just don’t know when. But until then, make do with this."
"This is already far more beneficial than anything I have seen or heard," Viana said with a serious expression. "I didn’t know you could share your talents like this. Arcane Cultivation is terrifying after all. It allows you to increase your Seed Force so fast."
"Right." Kayan nodded, his eyes glued on the bead. "So, can you send those already?"
Vesh chuckled. "Here you go."
Everyone received a bead each as it vanished into their foreheads. Afterward, they controlled the bead and placed it into their life nexus, not too far from their Seed.
"Check it out later. For now, take a look at this quest. It’s an emergency."
Vesh shared the main quest he got using Mana to reflect the details to others outside.
[Main Quest—Nightfang’s Raid]
<Objective>
— You will be attacked by a pack of 30 D-rank Nightfang wolves.
— This is a coordinated attack from an unknown territory lord, location unknown. Survive the attack.
<Reward>
— 1 x Random D-rank Armour Set.
"It doesn’t say when we’ll be attacked, so it can happen at any time." Rovina frowned. "And it’s from someone like you..."
"Yep." Vesh nodded. "This world has three types of people. First are the natives who already live here and are born here, like Viana. Second are people like me who were transported here from another world. Third are like you three who are summoned via magical means."
Vesh narrowed his eyes. "I’m sure this person who is about to attack us has summoned people as I have, with different skill sets."
"Gathering wolves like this must be thanks to some kind of talent for sure." Kayan snorted. "But we can kill measly wolves easily."
"We may be able to, but given that this is an emergency, all of you should start learning Arcane Cultivation and increase your Seed Force. I’ll also start getting stronger by awakening Earth Mastery." Vesh sharply smiled. "Let’s win this warfare."
Everyone stood up and moved to different watchtowers before checking the bead Vesh gave them.
The bead basically showed them how Vesh controlled Mana at a certain frequency to attract pure magical power from the surroundings in step by step process.
He tried to be as detailed as possible, but ultimately, it depended on their control of Mana.
Vesh’s Mana control elevated easily since King’s Rule would make him perform that activity flawlessly, which would give him sufficient knowledge and experience to perform it instantly.
’King’s Rule. I awaken D-rank Earth Mastery.’
Vesh was ready to face that Earth Crust Beast this time.
In just a few seconds, his consciousness drifted into this alternate reality, upon a cliff as he faced the Earth Crust Beast.
There was no Wind Sword in his hand, but he didn’t need it.
Mana churned and took shape in his hand.
The shape of a sword.
CRRRR!
Earth Crust Beast suddenly drilled into the ground instead of dashing at him like the last time.
But Vesh still wasn’t worried.
Because he could detect the beast coming at him underground.
Right as it was nearing him, Vesh jumped high up, over thirty meters easily, while looking below.
Earth Crust Beast emerged with a blast, its tail pointed at him above.
Earth Shards materialised and shot at Vesh.
This time, Vesh could react quite easily.
He used Mana to unleash a burst of force from his palm, pushing himself aside as he descended, dodging the incoming attack.
Swoosh!
The mana sword in his hand flickered as he swung it in a perfect arc by dashing with his full speed right after landing.
Earth Crust Beast was split into two.
Its entire body turned into glowing earthen sparks that flooded into Vesh’s body.
The scenery shifted,d and his eyes opened in reality in the watch tower.
[Congratulations. You have awakened D-rank Earth Mastery talent.]
[King’s Rule Executed.]
Vesh looked at his hand and stirred the newly awakened talent.
’Hmm...I can’t transform Mana into Earth like Rovina, Arga, and Kayan. Could it be that’s a C-rank mastery’s perk?’
[Elemental Mastery knowledge protocol initiated.]
Vesh blinked. ’What?’
[Elemental Mastery talents from D-rank to SSS-rank also have other, more suitable terms to describe the levels of elemental mastery.]
[D rank — Borrower: You borrow power from the element.]
[C rank — Channel: You become a conduit for the element, allowing you to turn your mana into the element.]
[B-rank — Imprint: The element begins to imprint on you. You gain a unique flame signature where your element behaves differently.]
[A-rank — Sovereign: You rule the element in your vicinity and make it yours.]
[S-rank — Incarnation: You become the living manifestation of the element, allowing you to achieve one with the element, granting you an elemental physique.]
[SS-rank — Principle: You manipulate the fundamental laws behind the element.]
[SSS-rank — Origin: You stand above the element’s existence, creating an origin seed of it within your body.]
’Interesting.’ Vesh read everything and was impressed.
And then impatient, as he couldn’t wait to gain higher mastery of multiple elements.
’But for now, let’s focus on Earth.’
Vesh jumped off the watch tower and landed outside the territory’s gatehouse, out in the open.
’Let’s see if I can get a complete and fully advanced level of mana control. If I can get it, I should be able to create some powerful techniques using a sword.’
Vesh was eager for more knowledge of Mana because Arga actually demonstrated two sword techniques that were used in tandem with Mana.
One was Blazing Sword Tornado, and another was Flame Sword Disk. Both were deadly because the technicality behind those techniques had lethal offensive output.
Like how the same sword behaves differently in a master’s hand and an amateur’s hand. To put it bluntly, a sword master had discovered much of the science behind the sword and his own body to become a master of this tool. Despite having the same physical strength and the same sword, a master can easily defeat multiple amateurs.
It was the same with elements, and in this case, a technique was the amalgamation of physical power, elemental power, and martial technicality, A.K.A science behind magic and physical acting as a power boost augment.
So Vesh first wanted to see if he could attain perfect knowledge and control over Mana, unearthing the science behind it to wield it better.
’King’s Rule. I train and gain the maximum possible control of Mana, acquiring all fundamental knowledge of how Mana works and what it can do. If I feel like taking a break during the training, or some threat to my life or threat to territory appears, this rule is broken.’
[King’s Rule Created]
[Difficulty: SSS]
’What? SSS difficulty?’ Vesh was dumbfounded and had absolutely no idea what this entailed. But one thing was for sure, this rule wasn’t going to be executed today given its difficulty.
