Kirigakure Gamer : Rise of the mist-Chapter 53: Fire Daimyo Attack (1)
Chapter 53 - Fire Daimyo Attack (1)
[Capital of the Land of Fire, Market]
In a restaurant, the four Kirigakure ANBU shinobi were calmly dining on the upstairs floor, carefully waiting for the night to come. Meanwhile, they were discussing the strategy.
"Seiryu gave us plenty of information, at least", Number two spoke, "The strongest of the twelve guardians is called Chiriku, and is a monk shinobi from the Fire temple, he has a weird hidden art capable of blocking the strongest ninjutsu, or so the legends say. Then the eleven others also have known abilities"
Looking at the scroll, Takeshi read with careful interest:
[Asuma Sarutobi - Wind Release Expert and chakra blades specialist]
[Kai Uchiha - Fire Release Expert, 3-tomoe Sharigan, capable of copying jutsu]
Updated from freewёbnoνel.com.
[Hibiki Hyuga - Byakugan, Taijutsu expert]
[Tetsuo Aburame - Uses insects, a breed that eats away chakra]
[Renjiro Nara - Strategist, Shadow bloodline release]
[Sora Fuma - Fuma clan, shurikenjutsu expert]
[Mizuki Inuzuka - Inuzuka clan, dog ninken, close combat expert]
[Yuriko Yamanaka - Genjutsu expert]
[Hotaru - Medical ninja, poison expert]
[Ranmaru Donzen - Samurai, kenjutsu specialist]
Eleven powerhouses, each at least possessing jonin-level strength, some like Kai Uchiha nearing elite jonin level.
In other words, attacking the Fire Daimyo without an army was pure wishful thinking. It was a suicidal mission, one that Number Two had accepted willingfully.;
"How are we to survive this?", Number three asked, "Combat is inevitable, and even if we attack during the night, they are used to protecting the Daimyo. We are not the first to target him. Konohagakure has made many enemies after all"
Number two nodded: "Smart as always. Besides their individual strength, their teamwork is even more fearsome. This is why we will exploit Number Ten and Eleven. Even if we worked together with the whole Capture division, the odds of besting them are very low, which is why our captain Seiryu opted for this strategy"
Takeshi thought for a while, but could not find fault with Seiryu. Although he had sent them on a suicidal mission, this was fair. Kirigakure did not have the will of fire, or anything like that. Their shinobi were assassins, an army of loyal soldiers. Sacrifice was part of the job, and he maximized the odds of success of the mission based on the data available to him.
Had he been in Seiryu's shoes, he might have opted for the very same strategy.
However, this was an opportunity.
Takeshi was not like others. The more dangerous a mission, the more rewarding it was, as highlighted by the S-rank mission rewards available upon completion of the task. However, it was his greed that had pushed him to become a disciple of the Haze dojo, enter the battlefield at the age of 9, become a jinchuriki at the age of 10, and an ANBU right after.
This mission was no different than the others.
It was only slightly more dangerous.
He was a shinobi who had survived a month in the belly of the two-tailed beast after all. His sense of danger, of fear...they no longer existed. His mind, which he thought had been protected from experiencing death and reincarnating in this world, was not sane anymore.
He viewed his life as the game of a character.
He viewed others as NPCs.
He was...a player.
"I have an idea", Takeshi muttered, "Let's target the twelve guardians"
His eyes were set on the killing of the twelve guardians.
Seeing the others unresponding, Takeshi identified this lack of response as curiosity. He continued his explanations: "We will fight them anyway, and attacking the daimyo is meaningless, when our objective is the prince, or, in our case, make a distraction. Let's target the guardians instead. We can split them and attack them, using the element of surprise"
Number two grinned: "Divide and conquer, huh? I like that"
