Bear-san Explores The Room, Part 2
βYuna-oneesan. Am I still not allowed to see it?β (Fina)
While we were doing something stupid, Fina tried to check us out from behind Swaying Bear. But Swaying Bear moves his body to block Finaβs view.
Swaying Bearβs defense is like an iron wall.
βAh, just a little longer.β (Yuna)
We checked the skeleton to ensure there was nothing but the wand and then covered it with a sheet. πππππππππ€π«ππ.πππ
Of course, that role also goes to Mia.
Mia does it with a disgusted look on her face. At that time, she was doing it while glancing at Kagali-san so as not to be surprised.
βUgh, itβs fine now.β (Mia)
After making sure the sheets properly covered it, I called Fina.
Fina came out from behind Swaying Bearβs back. Swaying Bear didnβt block her.
βSo what happened?β (Fina)
βA wand or something?β (Yuna)
Our gaze turns to the wand in Miaβs hand.
A wand about 30 cm long, with a magic stone the size of Finaβs small fist, inlaid at the tip.
Mia looks at the wand, but quickly gives up and gives it to Carol.
βIβm not a wizard, Carol, what do you think?β (Mia)
βI can use magic, but Iβm not familiar with wands either.β (Carol)
βWhat about you, Yuna?β (Mia)
βLikewise, I donβt know much about it.β (Yuna)
Iβve never used a wand before, so I donβt know any more about it than Carol.
βHey, let me see it.β (Kagali)
As everyone gave up, Kagali-san, who was on Hugging Bear, reached out her hand.
βWhat? Youβre just a little girl, you donβt need it yet.β (Mia)
βItβs fine, just show it to her.β (Yuna)
βIt canβt be helped.β (Mia)
While saying that, Mia hands over the wand to Kagali-san.
Upon receiving the wand, Kagali-san moves it around to check it from different angles.
βDo you know what it is?β (Mia)
βThey put a lot of things on this wand.β (Kagali)
βReally?β (Mia)
Mia looks at Kagali-san with suspicious eyes.
You canβt tell just by looking at it.
βIn the first place, can a little girl like you understand? To me, it just looks like a normal short wand.β (Mia)
βYeah, even I canβt see it.β (Carol)
Carol also agrees with Miaβs words.
βItβs the difference in life experiences.β (Kagali)
βLife experience, you say? How old are you?β (Mia)
βItβs rude to ask a woman her age.β (Kagali)
βWhy are you talking like a grown woman?β (Mia)
Fina and I laughed at those words.
Well, sheβs an old lady on the inside, so what Mia is saying is correct.
βFor the time being, Yuna. Try pouring magic into this wand. It might tell us something.β (Kagali)
Kagali-san held out the wand toward me.
βMe?β (Yuna)
βI could do it myself, but it would be troublesome.β (Kagali)
βYeah, but itβs not dangerous, is it?β (Yuna)
βI donβt know. All I know is that this is no ordinary wand.β (Kagali)
When you put it that way, itβs tough.
I receive the wand from Kagali-san, and bite it with my bear puppetβs mouth.
Then I try to use bear eyes.
But it simply showed a βwandβ and nothing else.
Hmmm, there isnβt anything suspicious about it.
Just like Kagali-san did, I turned the wand around and observed it.
Lines and circles were carved into the wand, which looked like a series of magic circles. Kagali-san might be talking about this.
βEtto, Yuna. You donβt have to do it If itβs dangerous. I donβt want anything to happen to you, Yuna.β (Mia)
βYouβre worried about me?β (Yuna)
βWhat? Is it bad if I worry about you, Yuna!? If I can use magic, Iβll do it for you instead.β (Mia)
βYou probably need a certain amount of magic to make it work.β (Kagali)
βThen Iβll do it.β (Carol)
Carol slowly raises her hand.
βFine. I get it. I should do it.β (Kagali)
βNo, Iβll do it. Itβs not definite that something will happen.β (Yuna)
Besides, Iβm the only one who can respond if something does happen.
Mia, whoβs not a magician, might not have enough magic power. Carol, who seems to be athletically inept, would be a liability, and having Fina do it was out of the question. Also, Kagali-san is not in perfect condition.
I have my bear costume to protect me should anything happen.
Fina looks worried, so I reassure her by saying, βIβll be fineβ.
I asked everyone to stand back a little. After confirming this, I poured magic power into the wand. There was no response, so I poured more magic power.
Then, the magic stone attached to the tip of the wand glowed and immediately disappeared.
We looked at the wand.
βNothing happened?β (Yuna)
βSo itβs a normal wand?β (Mia)
βI thought there would be some kind of reaction, but thatβs strange.β (Kagali)
Kagali-san tilts her head.
βWhat? You made me worry for nothing?β (Mia)
βMaybe the reason is that we canβt use magic tools here.β (Kagali)
βSo, is that wand different from a normal wand?β (Mia)
βDunno.β (Yuna)
My bear eyes only say βwandβ.
βCan you use magic with that wand?β (Carol)
A long time ago, I took off my bear puppet and tried using magic with a wand, but the magic didnβt activate.
In other words, there is no point in doing it without my bear puppet, if I canβt do it with my bear puppet on, but I cannot be sure.
I looked around the room and gave Carol the wand.
Carol is the right choice for this.
βIt doesnβt look like thereβs any danger, so Carol go ahead and try it.β (Yuna)
βEtto, yes. Iβll try casting light.β (Carol)
When I give Carol the wand, she tries to cast her magic, but it does not activate.
βJust as Kagali-chan said, we canβt seem to activate the magic of the wand here.β (Carol)
βAnd it didnβt glow this time.β (Mia)
βPerhaps I have less magic?β (Carol)
βThat would be different. If thatβs the case, it wonβt serve as a magic wand. You should think that the purpose of the use is different.β (Kagali)
βIf you donβt know how to use it, then, isnβt it trash? The magic stone is reasonably large though, so it could be sold.β (Mia)
The magic stone is about the size of Tiger Wolfβs magic stone.
βDo you think it would sell well? Yuna, how about it?β (Mia)
If youβre asking me whether I want it or not, I donβt.
But magic stones are sometimes useful.
βYeah, okay. Iβll buy it.β (Yuna)
βReally!? Thank you.β (Mia)
Mia looks happy.
βSo, how do we go from here? Do you want me to pay now?β (Yuna)
βLater is fine. Besides, that may not be the only treasure, so it would be better to settle it all up together later.β (Mia)
βYouβre not gonna think Iβm running away without paying?β (Yuna)
βI know that Yuna would never do such a thing. In the first place, thereβs no merit for you to run away from us. Besides, even if you escaped, you have saved us many times, so the cost is already paid for.β (Mia)
Unexpected words came out.
I feel a little embarrassed when someone tells me how much they trust me, face to face.
βIβll keep this wand then.β (Yuna)
I put the wand in the bear box.
βThen letβs resume our search in this room.β (Kagali)
We split up and explored the room again.
Besides the bed, thereβs a bookshelf, drawers, a desk, and a table. Itβs like having a bed in a laboratory.
I looked around the room for anything of interest, but there was nothing in particular.
Kagali-san also looked around the room restlessly, and Mia looked under the bed while feeling sick. Carol is walking around the room wondering where to look.
I looked at Fina and saw her pulling a desk drawer.
βU~u, it wonβt open.β (Fina)
Fina is trying very hard to pull the desk drawer, but to no avail.
Swaying Bear is cheering for her by crying βKuu~nβ.
βFina, let me handle it.β (Yuna)
βIβm sorry, Yuna-oneesan.β (Fina)
βThat, right there, should be a thank you.β (Yuna)
ββ¦β¦Yes, thank you.β (Fina)
In place of Fina, I put my hand on the drawer and try to pull it lightly, but I canβt pull it out.
Something seems to be stuck.
Is it the lock?
In that case, Iβm going to pull as hard as I can.
Then the desk collapsed with a loud noise and the drawer I pulled out was yanked out.
βWhat!?β (Mia)
βWhat!?β (Kagali)
I got pushed backwards by the momentum and fell on my buttocks.
I guess I put more effort into it than I thought I should.
βYuna-oneesan, are you okay?!β (Fina)
Fina approached me worriedly.
βIβm okay. Iβm alright.β (Yuna)
Thanks to the bear equipment, my butt doesnβt hurt.
If it werenβt for the bear equipment, my delicate butt might have been bruised.
βJeez, you scared the crap out of me.β (Kagali)
βDonβt startle me! I hit my head on the bed.β (Mia)
βThat surprised me.β (Carol)
βIβm sorry. I was just trying to put a little bit of force into it.β (Yuna)
For the time being, it was my fault, so I apologized.
βSo, Yuna-oneesan. Did you find anything in the drawer?β (Fina)
I look at the drawer in my hand.
βThereβs a box in here.β (Yuna)
Itβs a metal box.
Itβs about the size of a toolbox held by an elementary school student.
βI wonder whatβs in it?β (Mia)
Mia p eers in from the side.
Lured by that, Carol and Kagali-san also come.
βIβll open it.β (Mia)
Mia takes the box out of the drawer that I am holding.
βMia-chan, it might be dangerous.β (Carol)
βItβs not like any of these knight armors are going to come here.β (Mia)
After saying that, she tried to open the iron box, but it wouldnβt open.
βItβs rusty and wonβt open.β (Mia)
βLet me open itβ (Yuna)
I picked up the box and opened the lid with all my strength while being careful this time.
βYou really have such incredible power. So whatβs in it?β (Mia)
βBook?β (Yuna)
I took out the book inside.
βA book? Or rather, more like a notebook.β (Yuna)
Itβs too thin to be called a book, and itβs more fitting to call it a notebook. (TN: Thatβs a doujinshi!)
Inside the box were two notebooks.
One of the notebooks had the word βrecordβ written on its cover.
