At some point in the night, Mei Mei and Jingzhe stepped away from everyone else and ended up taking a slow walk at the beach. He had one warm wrapped around her shoulders and a leash that was attached to Noodles in the other.

To other people that saw them from a distance, the looked like a couple taking their pet cat on a walk. Although why they were doing it at night was a question to ponder on.

"Did you see Kang Zhenzhen teaching Long Shuang to dance?" He asked her.

She laughed softly. "And it was working. The Empress Mother swore that Long Shuang was unteachable and wobbled like a baby giraffe in all her dance classes but I guess she was wrong. The girl just needed a friendlier teacher or a warm stepmother. "Long Shuang has turned over a new leaf so much that she is recognizable anymore. Maybe she will survive in the royal family after all." she muttered.

"Do you want me to carry you?" He asked, abruptly.

She raised her eyes to look at his face and see what he was thinking.

But then he leaned down and kissed her.

Mei Mei laughed. "My wonderful vixen." she whispered against his lips. I did not think you would make it here for my race."

He restarted their walk because of Noddles impatience and tugging on the leash. "I almost didn’t but not because I did not want to come but because my aunt showed up outside Blue Galactic, screaming like an insane woman that we killed her daughter.

With all the spotlight I have been under lately, there is always a member of the media hiding on the street, waiting to capture something. It took a while to deal with her mess and sort out the reporters that had gathered.

"Reporters gathered!" She said, stunned at the revelation. "Did she bring them with her?"

He shook his head. "I don’t think it was her work. Some of the reporters were from major news networks. My guess is that someone was pulling the strings behind her to smear my reputation or ruin my business."

He handed the leash to her, got his phone out and showed her an image of a man. Mei Mei’s eyes were drawn to the ring on his finger.

"Is that the ring I stole?" She blurted out.

Jingzhe laughed. "Aah, so you are admitting to stealing it."

She folded her lips together.

He shook his head. "Anyway, I have been helping your brother dig into the case. We figured out the identity of this man, following some interrogations of people that were seen at the hotel searching for it. He is Chinese American businessman Tu Zixuan. It looks like he was working with Prince Long Bo and his supporters in establishing a hidden illegal lab where some cruel experiments were being carried out."

His hand squeezed her shoulder a little too hard that she winced.

"Sorry." He dropped his hand and backed away from her.

It was like he was too scared to be close to her.

She took a step forward and held his hand. Then, she led him closer to the ocean. "Take a deep breath A Zhe." She let go of his hand and patted his back. "Breath in and out...in and out..."

He mimicked Mingzhu, breathing fast in a playful manner.

She slapped his butt. "Stop playing and do it like you are meditating. The fact that you are acting like this tells me that the lab reminded you of Sword Island. Please don’t tell me that you went there."

He drew in a deep breath, held it and shook his head before releasing it and saying, "I would rather go to hell than visit a place like that. Mingzhe sent me some pictures of what they found and it broke my heart. It also aroused my anger. Why do people have to take things that far? Why harm another human being to that extent?"

Noodles dashed out of the water with a small fish between her sharp teeth. She looked at them, cried once and dropped the fish on the sand before darting back to the water.

"I think she just told us to watch her fish." He said.

Mei Mei laughed. "Or maybe she warned us not to eat it."

"That warning should be saved for her husband General Black hole." He said.

They both laughed and sighed after a while.

"I have more news to share." He told her.

She looked at him, and her eyes caught the side of his face. His effortless good looks almost shocked her as if it was the very first time she was glancing upon him. Both of them were standing in the same place and yet the moons light seemed to be falling on only him.

Noodles cried again and she withdrew her eyes from him. The cat delivered a crab to the sand and darted back into the water.

"I think she is hunting for her husband." Jingzhe commented. "Gotta love a woman who brings home the bacon."

She slapped his butt again and then fondled it playfully.

He hissed and jumped away. "I didn’t drop the soap officer Mei Mei. Why are you touching my butt?"

She gasped. "Jingzhe...."

"Officer..." He said coquettishly, batting his eyelashes. "If I am a good boy, will you allow me to serve you in bed tonight?"

She rolled her eyes, giggling loudly. How had they gone from serious subject to comedy? "Stop playing and tell me what else you have left out. Tonight, we should leave it all here in the ocean."

He cleared his throat and came nearer to her, taking up the position where he had been standing earlier. "Its about Mo Liang, he called Prince Long Bo for help."

Mei Mei froze. "Who?"

"Mo Liang called Long Bo, the evil prince." He said slowly, "I used to think his only connection to the royal family was the Empress and that was when she was coming after you but there was another backer."

Mei Mei nodded. "No wonder aunt Rize said Long Bo long hands was Mo Liang’s butt licker. She said he was the one that strongly supported the royal family standing on Mo Liang’s side when I asked for a divorce and went public with everything. According to her even after the Mo Liang’s arrest, Long Bo met Junjie three times to convince him to support Mo Liang but Junjie refused."

Jingzhe had not heard this news. He wondered if it happened before he became a royal advisor or after.

"Such support usually means a secret." Mei Mei whispered.
