Following the law arranged by the system in the virtual world of LSO, members of the demon race like Hiro were weak to the holy attribute. If a weapon or attack had that attribute, those with demon blood would be afflicted with the Burning effect. Furthermore, the damage they received from attacks with the attribute would be doubled.

Liberty shot three silver bullets at once, and all three of them pierced his chest before he knew it.

The sharp burning pain reminded him of the unique skill of Liberty’s weapon.

[If the target is demonic or unholy, ignores armor and increases the damage of the first three bullets by 200%. One of these bullets inflicts Burning.]

Even if the rank of her weapon was also downgraded like his, it would only affect the cooldown and AP cost of the unique skill. The damage increase against demonic or unholy targets was still high.

Hiro’s first loss was against an AI, and he lost without even being able to do anything. A record that slapped his face as a pro gamer extremely hard.

[You lost!]

[-100 Battle Points]

‘She’s really too dangerous as an opponent.’

Hiro was quickly teleported out of the battle arena.

Now standing in front of NPC Fred, he had the same expression of shock from suffering defeat because of his own mistake.

[You obtained 200 EXP and 20 Stamina]

“Is this how it feels to have a crush that can kill you? Looks like I have to be careful of Libe now,” he muttered to himself.

He never even thought of going against Liberty before, so he just realized she had a weapon effective against his bloodline all along.

“You can come back tomorrow, NightFall,” NPC Fred said to encourage Hiro, who had already walked away with slumped shoulders.

Hiro walked away dejectedly without responding to NPC Fred.

‘I’ve only managed to get 100 points today… Get yourself together, damn it!’

It was only after staying quiet for 10 minutes that he was finally able to accept his defeat. Besides, he still had a daily quest he had to do today. 𝐟r𝒆ℯ𝘄𝑒𝒃𝚗𝒐𝘃e𝗹.c𝘰𝐦

His last daily quest was a minigame quest that could be done in a certain tavern. It just so happened that the tavern on the list was the only tavern he had visited, and twice at that.

Beginner Town’s tavern.

The later it got, the higher the number of players visiting the tavern was.

Hiro walked in and observed his surroundings. The strong smell of alcohol in the air and the loud atmosphere really made him want to complete his quest and leave the tavern as soon as possible.

“Jack!” he greeted the NPC.

“Player NightFall, welcome! What can I do for you?”

Again, a new panel popped out in front of him.

[Buy Drinks]

[Minigame: Arm Wrestle]

‘Arm wrestle? Seriously?’

Hiro couldn’t help but look at the minigame option for a moment before choosing it.

[Challenge anyone in the tavern to arm wrestle and win 3 rounds to receive 30 stamina.]

Two more options then popped up on the transparent panel in front of him.

[Find an opponent and challenge them]

[Random: Challenge everyone in the bar!]

“Challenge everyone.”

After he stated his decision, NPC Jack tapped the glass he was wiping with a teaspoon.

Clink! Clink!

The sound wasn’t very loud, but it was enough to attract all the players in the noisy tavern.

“This young man wants to challenge three of you to arm wrestle!”

The people in the tavern looked at each other with confusion.

NPC Jack’s actions surprised Hiro. He didn’t expect that the preparation for the seemingly simple daily quest would involve so many players.

“Is he out of his mind?”

“That kid is challenging us?”

“He must not want his arm anymore.”

“This is a joke, right?”

The corners of Hiro’s eyes twitched as he listened to the berating whispers. Most of the players in the tavern had larger builds than him and none looked Asian since he chose the NA server, but were they seriously judging him from his physical appearance? In a game?

While the strength players had from their body size also affected their STR stat to an extent, this would only help them at the beginning of the game.

But then again, how were they supposed to know that his STR stat was almost 3x theirs?

Hiro didn’t lower his chin at all.

“You won’t sue me if I break your wrist, right, kid?” a bald man as muscular as a professional wrestler shouted from the other side of the room.

The people in the tavern burst into laughter.

“No one will be sued here. Instead, I’ll give anyone who can beat me 5,000 LSC.”

Everyone instantly fell silent for a moment. The people in the tavern were doubting him, but Hiro seemed confident.

Of course he was. When he checked the level of the player who just shouted, he did not doubt that he would be able to win.

Hiro’s smug look quickly made the muscular bald man boil with anger and annoyance.

“5,000 LSC? That’s a lot of money, boss!” a more slender man next to the baldie whispered with amazement. $5,000 for an arm wrestle!

“I accept your challenge.”

NPC Jack prepared a clean table in the middle of the room for the arm wrestle between Hiro and the man twice his size.

[Level 14. BigShow. Knight. Licensed Traveler]

Hiro sat on the round wooden seat in front of his opponent. BigShow had already sat and relaxed his muscular arms.

Still with the smug look on his face, Hiro put his right arm on the table area NPC Jack marked with chalk.

“Are you ready? Best of three.”

When NPC Jack stated the rules, BigShow had already gripped Hiro’s right hand. However, Hiro didn’t move one bit. In fact, he didn’t even feel any pain or the sort.

The crowd surrounded the table. Some players had even started betting. 90% of the bets went to BigShow, while the players who had been carefully observing in silence decided to bet on NightFall’s victory.

“On the count of three. One… two…

“Three.”

BigShow’s arm muscles perfectly tensed up as the man began to use all his strength to bring Hiro’s hand down.

But Hiro’s hand didn’t budge.

“What’s going on?”

“Beat him, boss!”

Intentionally stalling for time, Hiro couldn’t even feel his opponent’s physical power. On the contrary, he seemed so relaxed it seemed as if he wasn’t the one arm wrestling against the muscular man.

“Bring him down!”

“Break his bone, boss!”

Meanwhile, sweat started to form and trickle down BigShow’s temples. The man had used up all his strength to push Hiro’s hand down and was even intending to break his wrist, but he couldn’t even move the other party’s hand.

“What is going on!?”

“Tired already?” Hiro challenged with the same smug look on his face. His arrogance silenced the crowd before causing an uproar in the tavern.

Meanwhile, BigShow didn’t answer. His jaws were clenched as he was still trying to push Hiro’s hand down for an easy $5,000.

“Ahh, should I end it now?” Hiro once again arrogantly said, angering his opponent even more. BigShow’s face had turned crimson, but he still couldn’t move Hiro’s hand.

“All right, time’s up! Do better next time, big guy!”

BANG!

CRASH!

Hiro used his physical strength to return the pressure from BigShow’s arm in the other direction.

With just one push, he brought down the giant hand until a painful crack sounded throughout the room.

“Arrgghhh!” BigShow screamed in pain and immediately pulled his hand from the table.

“Looks like he won’t be able to continue to the next round.”

For a moment, no sound apart from BigShow’s scream could be heard.

“NightFall won!” NPC Jack announced.

[You obtained 100 EXP and 10 Stamina]

The players in the tavern immediately fell into a clamor of disbelief.

“No way!”

“This is impossible!”

“It can’t be, right!?”

The look of surprise and disbelief of the people who previously looked down on him brought a satisfied smile onto Hiro’s face.

“So who’s next?”
