Chapter 103: Choose, Huan!

Huan looked up, his eyes glassy but distant. "I’ll do the work. I’ll handle the logistics and administration as we agreed."

"And the other thing?" Razen asked, stepping closer, his hand reaching out to brush Huan’s shoulder. "Alexander might not want his ’pet’ back, but we know how you two spent your nights. Everyone in this business knows."

Vizard nodded. "We can satisfy you just as well. We know what a man like Alexander needs, and we’re happy to provide it."

Huan pulled away slightly, his face a mask of weary professionalism. He felt a deep, aching longing for the way Alexander used to touch him, the harshness, the precision, the silent understanding, but that was gone now.

"We will be partners," Huan said, his voice trembling slightly but holding firm. "I’m not interested in anything else. And please... make sure you pay me exactly what you promised. I have no intention of staying a slave."

He stood up and walked past them toward the window, looking out at the dark garden. He was free from Alexander Salazar. So why did it feel like he had finally fallen into an abyss?

The area was located in a neighborhood close to the docks. From his upstairs room, he could see the lights on the pier. The sound of ships coming and going slowly brought a sense of peace to his chest.

Until then, the sound of cars speeding by had been so annoying. Worse, they seemed to be deliberately making noise, as if to dominate.

Huan sighed. Vizard and Razen were people whose lives and lifestyles were completely different from Alexander’s in every way. They were rough street men who never thought about other people’s feelings. The way they talked and laughed was vulgar and rude.

He even felt that his clothes were unsuitable for this place. Did he really want this?

A part of him wanted Alexander to be jealous. That was all. He didn’t need money or a job at the moment. And this agreement was meant to indirectly help Salazar.

But Alexander’s reaction really angered him. "That bastard," he cursed under his breath.

He sighed when he heard more cars arriving. Had Vizard invited a lot of people at a time like this?

He walked inside and closed the balcony door tightly when someone suddenly burst into his room, startling him.

The man, one of Vizard’s men, stared at him, tense and trembling. "Come with me!"

Huan stepped back, alert. But the man was impatient and dragged him out.

"What are you doing?!" Huan exclaimed as he was pulled forward so quickly that he almost stumbled.

They went down the stairs. Huan yanked his hand back, nearly causing the man in front of him to fall. But Huan’s attention wasn’t on the man, it was on the group gathered downstairs.

His eyes widened, locking onto a single figure.

A man who sat calmly, as if he ruled the world.

Alexander!

Huan stiffened. His legs almost gave way if he hadn’t grabbed onto something.

The man in front of him tugged his hand again. Huan was no longer focused, he simply followed until they stood before Alexander.

Vizard and Razen sat nearby, their expressions annoyed. Huan looked around at the men lying on the floor, their faces battered and bruised.

"Here he is, Huan! Your man!" Razen shouted. "You could’ve just said so, no need to make a scene! You hurt my men!"

Alexander didn’t care. His gaze never left Huan. "I want him back. He is part of Salazar. You need my permission to take him."

"What? Didn’t you just say we could keep him?!" Razen said incredulously.

"Yes, I did," Alexander replied. "You can keep his body. So I came here to confirm whether he truly wants to stay. If he does, I’ll kill him."

Vizard laughed in disbelief. "He’s a free man. He can choose whatever he wants. You can’t force him to stay with you when he wants to leave!"

Alexander still stared at Huan and gestured toward Steven.

Steven immediately pulled out his gun, ready to shoot at any moment. His face was calm, expressionless. Jack stared at Huan anxiously.

The room fell into deathly silence. Vizard and Razen exchanged glances, finally realizing Alexander wasn’t joking. This man was truly insane.

"I don’t leave things behind," Alexander said to Huan. "I either keep them, or I destroy them so no one else can have them. So tell me now, do you want to stay here, or are you coming home with me?"

Huan looked into those icy blue eyes. He saw the madness there, the possessiveness bordering on insanity, but he also saw the raw, unspoken desperation Alexander would never admit to. This man had fought through a small groups and risked a territorial war just to stand here and threaten to kill him.

It was sick, and it was the only version of love Alexander Salazar knew how to give.

Huan looked at Vizard and Razen, then at the wounded men. If he stayed, many lives would be lost. He glanced at Steven, whose finger hovered over the trigger.

He sighed. "I have no choice."

Alexander shook his head. "No, you do. I don’t want you to come back because I forced you."

’But you just forced me and left me with no choice, you crazy bastard!’ Huan screamed internally. He glared at Alexander.

"I’ll go with you."

Alexander smiled, grinning. "I knew you could never leave me."

Huan clenched his fists and closed his eyes, holding back his rage. He could only punch the man in his imagination.

Alexander turned to Vizard and Razen and handed them a document. "I won’t tolerate your bullshit. Either you accept our offer or go to hell. Your choice. Read it carefully and send it back to me, properly signed."

Alexander stood and walked out, then turned back to Vizard. "Don’t forget, I can burn this place down in a second. Don’t try me."

Then he looked at Huan. "Since when have you been so slow?"

Huan startled and immediately hurried to his side. His body reacted automatically before his mind could catch up.

He didn’t know what kind of spell the man had cast on him.
