Leave Me Alone, Big Brothers! [BL]-Chapter 110: The Worst Plan Ever
Meanwhile, in an old apartment on the outskirts of town, Louis looked troubled as he stared at his phone.
Earlier that afternoon, Huan had sent a message saying that Nathan and Nael had left without permission, leaving Lorenzo overwhelmed. Huan asked if the two boys might have contacted him, as they had protested about bringing him back.
But neither Nathan nor Nael had told him. Although he was touched by how the twins were trying to help him, he knew Alexander would not change his decision.
And now, he had received a message from Lars, one of Drakken Perlich’s men. The man asked him to bring Nathan home because he couldn’t hide forever and was afraid to go out.
So, the twins were in the Perlich area. And he knew it.
He was in a dilemma about whether he should tell Huan. It was no longer his business. He didn’t want to get involved anymore. But his heart was not at ease knowing that everyone was worried while he knew the whereabouts of the two boys.
"Louis, eat something. You just ate once this morning." A nineteen-year-old girl moved her wheelchair toward Louis.
Louis lifted his face, his dilemma instantly turning into a warm, reassuring smile. "I’ve gained a lot over the past few months. I need to start dieting."
Louis stood up from his chair, pushing his sister’s chair back to the small dining table in the middle of the room. He was lying, he hadn’t felt like eating since yesterday. He had a lot to think about because of this sudden change.
"You look strange. Did you really take time off for me? Or were you actually fired? Or are you involved in something?" the girl asked worriedly.
Louis looked at the food his sister had cooked and smiled.
"Sarah, I work too much. I don’t have time for you. We’re just the two of us, and I..."
Louis held his breath, fell silent, picked up some bread from the table, and placed it in front of his sister, Sarah.
Sarah felt her chest ache every time she saw Louis like that. "I’ve told you. It’s not because of you. You make me uncomfortable if you keep blaming yourself. After all, I couldn’t avoid that accident."
Louis still felt very guilty. A year ago, Sarah had an accident, and what made him feel guilty was that he was supposed to pick Sarah up that day, but he delayed because Alexander needed him.
Sarah went by taxi. And the tragic accident happened.
Sarah could still be saved, but her body was severely disabled. And the girl had been going to the hospital frequently for various surgeries ever since.
Louis cursed himself because he knew Sarah often cried alone, but she always tried to be strong and calm him down.
Louis used all his savings to take care of Sarah, and he promised to take care of the girl forever.
Now he was getting worse because his main source of income was gone. He had to find a new source of income because Sarah had to receive treatment again next week. And then how many times again after that.
He needed more money.
Louis sat watching Sarah eat, accompanying the girl as she talked.
He then opened his cell phone and sent a message to Huan.
"Check on the Perlich house. I think they are there."
Huan received the message and opened it immediately.
"Alex, Louis told me they might be at the Perlich house. One of their men informed him," Huan reported.
Jack was immediately on alert. "I’ll get my car."
Alexander and his brothers, who were in the living room, immediately looked at him hopefully.
"We get them?" Malvin immediately stood up. His face was pale at the moment. He couldn’t help but feel anxious.
Alexander asked him to calm down and sit back down. "How’s the situation?" he asked Huan.
"I think you know Drakken Perlich’s son is in the same school. They visit him and play there," Huan said, after confirming directly with Lars.
"Play?" Alexander asked, his aura darkening.
"Well, at least we know they are safe."
Alexander held his forehead. "Get them."
But before Huan or Jack could move, the sound of a guard running inside could be heard.
"They’re back!" He shouted.
Everyone stood at the ready.
"What?" Alexander asked impatiently and walked to the terrace.
"Master Nael and Master Nathan are back!" the man repeated.
Malvin ran behind Alexander.
Leo walked calmly at the back. Lucas could now relax and chuckled at the good news.
Nathan and Nael were escorted by Drakken directly to the front gate, and they walked in anxiously.
Even though they had prepared themselves, they couldn’t stop their bodies from trembling.
"I’ve never been punished, but Lucas was once tied to a tree in the back garden for getting drunk, coming home late, and not telling the guards," Nael said, making Nathan even more anxious.
"We mustn’t be afraid!" he said, plucking up his courage. "For Louis’ sake!"
But he didn’t expect Alexander to be that cruel.
"What if we get tied upside down?" Nael asked, thinking about that possibility.
Nathan swallowed hard, walking as slowly as possible. "We’ll carry out our plan."
Nael felt his hands growing cold, not only because of the cold air, but also because of his anxiety and worry. His relationship with Alexander had just improved, and he had made the man angry.
Nathan and Nael walked even more tremulously when they saw Alexander and the others waiting on the terrace. Their faces looked both anxious and frightening at the same time.
Nathan cleared his throat, walking as bravely as possible. He whispered to Nael.
"In three, Nael..."
They had to pretend to faint.
Nael looked down, took a breath, and walked as slowly as possible, his hands clenched tremulously.
"Three..."
They stepped closer. They panicked even more when Alexander walked toward them.
No...
"One!" Nathan whispered in panic, seeing Alexander in front of them.
Nael panicked because he was still waiting for "two." But Nathan jumped ahead, and he wasn’t ready!
He saw Nathan step backward before collapsing to the ground, so smoothly.
Nael’s eyes widened. He forgot he had to collapse too to pretend to faint, but he was too panicked.
"Ah! Nathan!!" Nael shrieked. Instead of falling according to the plan, Nael stood as stiff as a board, his hands clenched at his sides. The sheer terror of the botched plan and Alexander’s looming presence broke him. He didn’t faint, he burst into loud, hysterical tears.
Alexander’s eyes widened. He was ready to deliver thousands of words of wisdom, but now he was shocked to see Nathan collapse. All he could think about was Nathan’s gastric acid flaring up. He thought of nothing else but carrying his brother inside.
Nathan felt his chest pounding very fast. His face was hot. He cursed Nael for not executing the plan properly.
Edward, the family doctor, moved with practiced, silent efficiency. He pressed a cold stethoscope to Nathan’s chest.
Nathan’s heart was hammering like a trapped bird. Please don’t notice, please don’t notice, he chanted internally. He could feel Alexander’s heavy, burning gaze on him from across the room.
"His pulse is fast," Edward noted, his voice calm but curious. He peeled back one of Nathan’s eyelids. Nathan kept his gaze fixed and glassy. "But his breathing is shallow. It could be a severe gastric flare-up triggered by acute stress."
"I knew it," Alexander snapped. "He hasn’t eaten this evening, I’m sure. He’s a fool. They’re both fools."
Alexander turned his focus to the remaining target. Nael was trembling, his face blotchy and tear-stained, standing by the doorway as if he expected the floorboards to swallow him whole.
"Nael," Alexander growled, stepping toward him. "Explain. Now."
Nael flinched, a fresh wave of tears spilling over. "Please..." he hiccupped, his voice small and shattered. "Please don’t tie us to the tree, Alex. I’m sorry..."
Malvin pulled him close and hugged him to calm him down.
"It’s okay, Nael. Don’t cry."
Alexander stopped in his tracks, his eyes widening in disbelief. He let out a long, jagged sigh.
"Tie you to the tree? No, I will tie you up in the tower! Seriously, Nael! Do you have any idea how much you made me worry? All day?!"
Nael looked down at his shoes, his small shoulders shaking. "We just want Louis back," he whispered. "That’s all we wanted."
"Not by making everyone lose their minds with worry!" Alexander shouted, his voice echoing off the high ceilings. "You put yourselves in danger! You made Lorenzo look like a failure! You made us go crazy!"
The silence that followed was deafening.
Malvin tried to calm Alexander down. "We can talk again later."
Edward glanced between the brothers, then back at Nathan. He reached into his medical bag and pulled out a particularly long, intimidating needle.
"Well," Edward said loudly, catching a tiny twitch in Nathan’s jaw, "if it is the gastric acid, we need to administer a direct sedative and a stomach stabilizer. It’s a very painful injection, but it’s the only way to be sure."
On the bed, Nathan’s fingers curled slightly into the blanket.
Not the needle, please!
Edward hid his smile, he knew Nathan was just pretending.
Edward leaned in, the needle glinting under the light. "This might sting... a lot."
Nathan’s eyes snapped open.
He didn’t just wake up, he bolted upright. His head nearly collided with Edward’s chin. He scrambled backward into the headboard, his breathing coming in sharp, very much conscious gasps.
"I’m okay! I’m fine! It’s gone!" Nathan gasped, his hands up in a defensive stance. "The pain has vanished! It’s a miracle!"
The room went dead silent.
Alexander froze. Edward didn’t look surprised, he simply lowered the needle with a knowing, clinical tilt of his head.
"I’m alive! See?" Nathan waved his arms frantically, his face flushing a deep, humiliated crimson. "No need for the needle, Doctor. I feel great. Fantastic. Never better."
