Chapter 141: You Will Marry Me.

That day, Jack and the staff were relieved that Alexander had finally returned to his throne and was back managing Salazar’s business. However, their happiness did not last long because the man had returned to his old ways. In an instant, they were busy with various orders.

If the man was usually impatient, this time it was even worse because most of the problems had been delayed for the past few days, and that created a backlog of work.

Alexander was busy fixing several schedules in his office at the mansion, repeatedly asking Jack or Roger, his new personal assistant, to get something for him.

He ignored Huan, who stood in front of him with an annoyed and impatient look on his face.

Huan frowned even more when he saw that Alexander was deliberately ignoring him.

"Alex..."

"I’m busy now, Huan. Go back to your room," Alexander cut him off, his eyes scanning the papers in front of him as if looking for something.

"Jack, where are the documents Tanja gave me to sign? I didn’t see them," Alexander said.

Jack, who was still opening the documents in front of him, immediately approached. "Sorry, but when did you meet Tanja? I didn’t see her give you any documents."

Huan sighed. "It’s in that blue file, inside your second drawer. Last time, you said you wanted to postpone it for a while," said Huan when he realized what Alexander was looking for.

Alexander didn’t look at him and quickly searched the drawer as Huan had said, then pulled out the blue file and opened it. A few minutes later, he was busy talking to Jack and Roger, delegating tasks.

Jack was already giving Alexander a headache, but Roger seemed to be deliberately making his head spin. At least Jack was still willing to learn. Meanwhile, Roger had made it clear that he didn’t like office work at all, let alone taking care of the business.

Even so, Alexander still forced him to help.

Finally, Alexander told Jack and Roger to leave and gave Huan a chance to talk, even though he knew what the man wanted to talk about.

"Huan, whatever you want to say, I won’t let you work anymore. This is my final decision," said Alexander, standing up, walking toward the sofa, and asking Huan to sit down.

"Oh, Alex. It’s not fair." Huan immediately followed, but when he was about to sit in front of Alexander, the man stopped him, pointing to the sofa next to him.

"Sit down here. Why are you so far away?"

Huan clicked his tongue softly but immediately sat down next to Alexander. Alexander’s face looked calm and professional as he sat sideways, staring intently at him. It was as if he were in an interview.

Even though he was used to this man, he still felt nervous every time they were alone in a serious situation like this. He admitted thousands of times that Alexander was indeed charming.

Huan glanced at Alexander’s tight neck, not realizing he had swallowed, and immediately looked away.

"Why did you fire me?" asked Huan, taking a deep breath before looking at Alexander again.

"What exactly do you want? Didn’t you want to resign?"

"You fired me, but you won’t let me go. It’s not fair."

"Where do you want to go anyway? You’re already at home, with your lover. What more do you want?"

Huan stared at Alexander for a long time. "What?"

"I fired you because I don’t want you to work for me. I don’t want to take any risks related to my grandpa or Argonne. It stresses me out to think about it. So, you will not come with me anymore."

Huan was silent. He had been very upset when Jack told him that Alexander had officially fired him. The man hadn’t even said anything to him.

"So, you fired me just like that?"

"Yes. I will marry you. Find a new hobby, keep yourself busy, and don’t nag me about work anymore."

Huan slightly parted his lips, not expecting Alexander’s words. "W-what?"

"Yes, I will marry you. You will be part of Salazar. Not as a bodyguard, but as my partner."

Huan gasped, lost for words.

Alexander looked at Huan seriously. "What is it? Will you accept it or not?"

"You’re proposing to me now?"

"Well, usually I really hate it when people are so slow. But yes, I’m proposing to you, Huan Holster. Will you accept being my partner?"

Huan swallowed hard. "I... are you serious?"

"Think about it. You have enough time."

"Well... I never expected this, Alex."

"I know. But I’m serious."

Huan was still speechless, but as usual, his brain was working during every conversation with Alexander. A few seconds later, he stared intently and piercingly at the man in front of him.

"What is it?" asked Alexander, frowning.

"You fired me as your assistant so you can play with guys as you like without me noticing?" accused Huan.

Alexander now looked at Huan seriously. Usually, he didn’t like being accused and didn’t care about anyone’s reaction. But this time, he looked very serious and patient.

"I’m concerned about your safety. Only that. I don’t want to lose you again."

"And the guys?" pressed Huan. He knew Alexander very well and what they did during business meetings.

Alexander sighed. "I hate to make promises, but you can ask Jack if I play with any guys."

Huan still didn’t believe him.

Alexander clicked his tongue at Huan’s accusing gaze. He pulled Huan’s hand and made him sit on his lap.

"Oh, not here," Huan refused. But Alexander insisted, demanding a hot kiss while Huan sat comfortably on his lap.

A moment later, Leo entered the room without knocking, surprising Huan. But Alexander held him tightly, his gaze fixed on Leo.

Leo wasn’t surprised at all; his expression remained calm as if he hadn’t seen anything strange.

"Did you find anything?" Alexander asked.

Leo nodded. "I’ve been tracking it since the first time they sent the vase containing the ashes. I was sure Steven was there. And I sent the ashes back to Grandpa’s place."

Huan looked away, ignoring Alexander’s tight grip on his waist because he was focused on Leo at the moment.

Alexander rubbed Huan’s hips gently. "Huan, did you see Steven there? If you say one word that he was there, I will not compromise but shoot him."

Huan looked serious, staring at Alexander. He remembered clearly. He didn’t know any of the men who took him to Jimmy’s place. And those men left before Jimmy approached him and put out the fire.

"No, I’m sure I didn’t see Steven there. What happened?" asked Huan.

"I’m sure he was there. But thinking about it now, maybe it was to clarify and make it clear that Huan was really dead. Grandpa always made sure everything was handled perfectly. Steven was a witness to make you believe it," said Leo.

Alexander sighed unhappily. He looked at Huan, rubbing the man’s cheek as if he couldn’t believe he could still hold him now.

"You have suffered a lot because of me. Can you tell me what happened that night? The details, please. Don’t hide anything."

Huan looked at Alexander, sensing the man’s anxiety. He took Alexander’s hand and brought it close to his cheek, feeling the warmth of the man’s palm there.

"As I said before, I met him that night. He had asked me to leave you before, and that night he wanted to make sure I was gone. But I told him that it might worry you if I left suddenly, so I said I would leave as planned, after Roger’s birthday."

Huan took a breath, as if it were difficult to recall the memory of that night. It was somewhat traumatic.

"He gave me a bag full of money and insisted that I go that night because he was planning to make official arrangements between you and Athena. I said no, sorry. But he insisted I take the bag, so I took it. I never realized that he would try to kidnap me."

Alexander stared intently, his eyes filled with anger.

Huan continued. "He brought me to his mansion after ordering everyone to leave. I was in pain, couldn’t feel anything, covered in blood. Alfred and Albert held me like a corpse and took me to an empty room inside Sir Antonio’s bedroom."

"Then?"

"I couldn’t move at all. He asked a doctor to take care of me. I didn’t know what he was planning to do with you. But then he came to me and said that he would send me to another country once the situation calmed down and you forgot about me," said Huan, sadness in his voice.

"That old man..." Alexander muttered.

Alexander kissed Huan’s lips, rubbing the back of his neck as if trying to calm him down.

"You don’t know how crazy I was when I saw that vase with your bloody clothes. I felt suffocated, and I didn’t really know how I would live after that. I was so broken that I didn’t care about anything at all!" said Alexander.

Huan smiled. "I heard you crying in Sir Antonio’s room."

Alexander glared. "What? Why didn’t you scream? You intentionally let me break?"

Huan chuckled softly. "No, I didn’t mean to. I just didn’t know what Sir Antonio actually wanted. I was afraid he might plan something even more cruel if I ruined his plan."

Alexander stared intently at Huan.

"Sorry, Alex. But at least I saw you crying because of me."

"Are you happy about it?"

"Well—"

Before Huan could finish his sentence, Leo interrupted. "I really want to see Alex cry."

Alexander stared at Leo, momentarily forgetting that his younger brother was there. His face flushed instantly.

"No. I won’t cry. I was just screaming because I was so angry," Alexander tried to cover up his weakness.

Leo tilted his head, looking at Huan as if to confirm Alexander’s words.

Huan smiled, laughing to himself. "It’s impossible for Alex to shed a tear."

Alexander then returned to the previous topic. "So you got money to leave me, and you’re still here. Anyway, I will never let you go."

Huan clicked his tongue. "What? I don’t know where the money is now. It’s inside the car. And I think they burned it."

Alexander chuckled. "You want compensation from me?"

Huan shook his head. "No, I have enough money. But I will accept it if you insist."

Alexander chuckled, then discussed many things with Leo. He still had to decide what to do about Steven.
