Legacy Of Fire: Chronicles Of The F-ranked Anomaly-Chapter 121: The Rat Doesn’t Die Easily
Outside the dungeon gate, Keith and Liu still stood there waiting to see what would happen to it.
It had been a day and a few hours; the dungeon was still emitting dangerous levels of violent mana. It was even more corrosive than before.
The officials knew that anything more than a day would be counted as missing in action, and it would be a nasty thing to even think of.
"This is now getting a bit concerning." Keith moved closer; he felt something different from the dungeon gate than anything else.
He was getting mixed feelings about it, and for some reason, it felt like he was standing in front of something a bit different from the other dungeons he had seen.
"The energy and mana levels are dropping..." Liu spoke up, a smile registered on his face. He knew what it meant if the energy in a dungeon began to drop like that.
"They took care of it..." He silently muttered.
Keith, staring at the dungeon gate, felt the ominous energy that had been rising rapidly for the past few hours slowly begin to die down.
"I can’t believe it..." He stared at the gate, a grin slowly taking form on his face.
Liu walked close to Keith, the smile still registered on his face. He placed his hand on his partner’s shoulders. "Finally, we can take a breather knowing that nothing is going to come out of all this—"
"Someone is coming out!"
One of the association workers in charge of monitoring the dungeon alerted them, and they turned to look at what was coming.
They could see the staggering figure of a man—he could hardly walk properly, falling as he made his way out of the dungeon.
"Only one person?" Liu’s voice sank; his hope got shattered when he saw it was only one person on the way out of that ghastly dungeon.
The man emerged from the dungeon; it was then clear who he was.
Nathan Cruz....
Moments Before The Dungeon Went Calm
After Darius delivered the killer blow, he fell close to one of the prisons the Orcs designed. When he got back his consciousness, he looked up to see one of his guild members there.
"Sir Nathan!" The man was ecstatic; he had been dragged in there with two others.
Nathan was looking at them; he knew what was going on and how it was going to be hard for him to face an orc in his situation.
"So is it only the three of you left, huh?"
Nathan counted them, getting to his feet as he pried the door open for them. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
The men walked out of the prison, and they looked up to spot a light show that could be seen; it was the other warriors clashing, and they were not holding back.
As their mana collided with the beasts, the clouds would change color.
Nathan knew that there was no way for them to lose the fight; he had seen the monsters, and he had seen Darius and Pryion.
’That knight alone was a problem, but add him up with that F-ranked turned SS-ranked.’
Nathan bit his lip; he didn’t know what he was dealing with there and how he was going to be able to avoid anything that would bring further questions.
"This isn’t something I would love to deal with." He let out a weak sigh as he looked up; nothing was going to hold him down. He wanted to make sure that he wouldn’t be held there for long with the guildmates.
Nathan looked at the men in front of him, and he knew that none of them had the strength to fight back. He had made up his mind about what he was going to do, and there was nothing going to stop him.
One of the guild members was looking at the lightworks; he swallowed before trying to say something. "We need to get out of here before—"
Wham!
The other two were shocked; they turned to see that Nathan had struck down one of their own like he was nothing but a bug.
"Nathan?!" One of the remaining two spoke up, filled with fear as he tried to step back.
But even that wasn’t going to be enough to save him from Nathan.
He moved to the front, smacking the warrior on the face with his mace, knocking him out cold with one swing. He delivered two more blows to the warrior’s face to make sure that he wouldn’t be able to follow him.
The last of the three was shivering, looking at Nathan and the way he was acting like a monster.
"Sir Nathan, please don’t..." He fell to the ground, trying to crawl away from Nathan. He could see it in his eyes, and he knew that there was no way for anyone to even think of saving him.
"I am begging you not to kill me." The warrior could see how Nathan was still moving closer to him, and he knew that the only thing that was going to save him was if the heavens were going to turn.
"Damnit!" The warrior conjured up an ice ball and fired it at Nathan.
The ice ball didn’t do anything, only push Nathan back; his eyes were locked on the crying warrior.
"I am not going to let any of you get in the way of my plan!"
He yelled as he lifted his mace, delivering a blow that knocked the man out cold.
Nathan slowly got up; his entire body was aching. He looked up to see a huge ball of flame taking down the other part of the forest. He knew what was going on, and he knew that there was nothing he could be able to do there.
"I need to get out of here and make sure that nothing is going to put me in this place like those."
He began walking out of the forest, staggering as he made his way through.
He wasn’t going to be the one to die there, even if he wasn’t seen as someone important after the mission. He would still keep his part of the money that would come from the raid.
Nathan got to the dungeon gate, and it was calmer than when they stepped in; it was a clear sign that Darius and the others had defeated all the monsters.
"Darius Winters..." Nathan turned to look back at the dungeon; he clenched his fists.
"I will take you down one day!"
