Legacy Of Fire: Chronicles Of The F-ranked Anomaly-Chapter 128: First Meeting
"What in the world are both of you trying to do behind my back?"
Darius broke the silence; he was looking at Lena and Theo.
Both of them turned to look at him; he stood there with a smile on his face.
Theo turned to look at him; he grinned.
"We were talking about different ways to make sure that we take you out of the picture."
Darius was surprised to hear him say that; he smiled, knowing that they didn’t know he was there the whole time, so he was going to play along with them.
"So you want to make sure that you take me out of the picture, eh?" He came closer, leaning close to Lena, smiling as he was looking at her.
"So you don’t want to know if I would take you to any fun amusement parks later?"
A glow came from Lena’s face, hearing her brother mention the amusement park.
"I want to go!"
Lena yelled out of excitement as she sprung onto Darius, pushing the white-haired warrior down to the floor.
Theo smiled watching the siblings tussle; he was not sure what he was trying to get from them, but it was clear that he was home.
"So you aren’t going to plan to get rid of me?" Darius raised a brow looking at Lena; she held him close. It was almost like she didn’t want to give him the breathing gap anymore.
Lena smiled, looking at her brother; it was like there would be nothing able to make her change her mind like that.
"No, I won’t plot to sell you to some merchants."
"Hey, you want to sell your brother to merchants?" Darius scoffed, a weird smile on his face as he tilted his head to the side.
"I don’t know why you would think that it was going to work that way. The moment I get up, I will make sure that I sell both you and Theo to them."
Lena’s grip tightened as she held down Darius; she didn’t want to let him go.
"There is nothing going to make me even think of letting you go."
Darius laughed out loud; he got up from the floor effortlessly. Lena still wrapped around him like a pretzel.
"So, Captain, what’s the haps?" Darius smiled at Theo; he didn’t know what he was to expect from them.
Theo turned to look at him, letting out a sigh.
"You were out for more than ten hours; you collapsed when we got to the door, and I had to carry you in."
Darius was looking at Theo like a child who lost his way; there was no memory of him falling to the floor like that.
"Hold on, when in the world did I fall?"
Darius was looking at Theo, still shocked to hear that he had passed out for that long.
Theo got up and made his way to the kitchen. Smiling, he knew that Darius was hungry and all, so he had made meals for all of them.
"I knew you would have no memory of any of that, so there was no way for me to leave like that without making a meal."
Theo came out with a tray filled with chicken breasts, mashed potatoes, and orange juice.
Darius’s face lit up when he saw Theo coming; it was like there was a banquet when he was asleep.
"I knew you burnt out your mana when you were facing those creatures, so I was sure that I would get everything done before you would wake up."
He placed the tray in front of Darius, who was like an animal seeking prey for days. Our young warrior dug into the food, not letting any of the crumbs fall from his mouth.
Theo carried Lena off Darius, placing her on the chair.
"You’re one strong twelve year old," He pulled out a candy bar from his pocket, handing it to her.
Lena was distracted for the meantime, taking the candy and letting Darius go.
Theo smiled as he patted her head; he turned back to Darius, who hungrily ate the food.
"The association got our request; Michael and Raya are now official members of our guild."
Theo was looking at Darius; he had forgotten that he would not even pay attention to him unless he was halfway done with his food.
Darius was busy with his plate, not even stopping to listen to what Theo had to say, and it was like he didn’t even care.
"So when are they coming by?"
He asked with his mouthful; he was looking at Theo, trying to see if he would get an answer.
"Soon, Raya would get here later than Michael. He should be here any minute from now."
Theo turned back to Darius to see that the tray was now empty, and Darius sat there like he didn’t even know where the food went.
Theo was surprised and shocked at the same time. "I want to understand something,"
He lifted the tray, looking at Darius. Astonished with the way the warriors consumed food like he was some kind of monster.
"Did you inhale it in one go?"
Theo was looking at Darius; it was too shocking for him to even understand what was going on.
Darius, picking his teeth, turned to look at Theo.
"I don’t know what you served, but I would love more of that."
"You’re no different from a savage!" Theo yelled; he didn’t know that he would finish it like that.
Darius had a smile on his face; it wasn’t something hidden. He had quite the appetite; he worked hard so he would be able to eat what he wanted when he wanted.
"You know that there are many other things I could be doing, but then I choose to eat. So you should see it as something good that I am not even part of those people that would think of going the other way."
"You are a savage...!"
Darius was laughing, looking at Theo; he couldn’t help himself.
"Alright, alright, I will make dinner."
He looked at his friend, and he could see that he had no animosity for him in any way.
"So I—"
Darius paused; he turned to the door. His eyes fixed on it like there was something telling him that there was danger coming.
"Someone’s going to come to the door soon."
Theo looked up; he was surprised that Darius even had to pause like that. Not knowing who it was that might come through the door or even want to come there.
Ding Dong!
Surprised Theo got up and walked to the door, he turned to Darius. "That has to be one of the strangest things I have seen you do, that and the fact that you black out even mid-fight."
Darius had a goofy smile on his face, looking at Theo.
"I am the all-seeing eye!"
Theo shook his head. He opened the door, and there he saw Michael standing by the door. In his hands was a bag of chicken breasts.
"Are those for you or for...?"
Michael looked at his hand and smiled.
"They belong to me. I love chicken breasts."
Theo swallowed; he knew what was going to happen when Michael stepped in.
"Listen, I know you are just a new member but I want to let you—"
Before Theo could finish talking, Darius pulled the door open with a smile on his face. His eyes darted around like he was looking for something.
His eyes landed on Michael’s hand, and an eerie smile formed on his face.
"I knew that I could smell chicken breasts!"
Michael looked down, then he looked back up with a bigger smile on his face.
"So you love chicken breasts too?!"
"Who doesn’t?!"
Both of them were excited like children; Theo stood there like he was looking at two man-babies trying to get each other to smile.
"Why do I even bother?" He was rubbing his head, turning to walk back in to sit with Lena.
Lena took a towel and placed it on his face.
"Rest now; you have work to do with those two." She smiled; it was like she could see what was going on.
Theo turned to look at her; it was she who was the older one.
"I signed up for this when I told him to join my guild, so I will not let anything make me run from it."
Michael handed Darius another bag of chicken breasts; he had a smile on his face.
"Good thing I got three!!"
Darius’s eyes glowed like a child’s eyes.
"Yesss, come on right in." Darius moved out of the way, Michael walked in, and Darius was about to close the door when he looked up to see Raya.
She was wearing a beautiful sundress; it was a match with her eyes. It fit her too well; Darius was surprised to see her there .
"Hello..." She said calmly it was not like she had expected to see him by the door.
"Hi," Darius said with a smile; he didn’t even waste time to open the door even wider.
"Come right in!"
Raya was looking at Darius, and something felt different. On the battlefield he was one powerful warrior that would kill anything in his path, but at home he was someone else.
Raya nodded as she walked in; she saw Theo and Michael seated there.
"Raya." Theo smiled; he had been expecting them.
Raya bowed her head; she wasn’t used to the captain stuff.
"It is good to see you Captain Theo,"
Theo waved his hands, telling her to stop.
"That’s a bit much!" He smiled as he looked around.
"Alright, the Broken Blades first guild meeting starts now!" He yelled excitedly.
