Legacy Of Fire: Chronicles Of The F-ranked Anomaly-Chapter 137: The Trial of Water Part 1: Hypnotic Hymns...
Even when Darius was looking at the dungeon gate, he couldn’t shake it off, but then deep down he felt it. The unshakable feeling that something was about to happen and he would not be able to save them.
’You have to keep a clear mind if you want to make it out of this trial alive, Darius. I know you must be worried about them, but they will be dead if you dont look for a way to keep your head in the game.’
Azree spoke up, Darius suddenly shook himself out of the daze he was in, and there was nothing going to be letting him sink back down knowing that there was a chance he was not going to be able to handle it alone, so he was not going to let anything eat him up.
Theo was done with the paperwork, and Michael had finished his warmup, knowing that they would be in for something that was going to be giving them a whole lot of headaches.
Darius stood there, staring at the gate. He could hear something; it was a bit faint, but he could tell what it was and what was going on.
’Child.....Of.....Chaos!’
A loud whisper came from inside the dungeon. He was not going to be shaken by something that small or irrelevant, knowing that there was no way for it to even come close to harming him or so, but then he was going to make sure that he was going to get through with all that.
The voice was getting louder and louder, and Darius, staring at the gate, couldn’t even act like he would even care less if they were to come out of the dungeon.
Taking a step back, Darius blew a raspberry at the dungeon gate.
"If you want to die so soon, I would tell you this." He pointed at it with a nasty smile on his face. He didn’t care what was going to happen, but he would make sure of one thing.
"I am not going to lose any of my friends inside that place!"
[Trial Of Water Commencing—Entering The Sanctuary of The Drowned Wyrm!]
Theo and the others had finished with what they were doing; they made their way up, following Darius closely behind.
"I have a feeling that this is going to be one tough dungeon for us!" Michael sounded ecstatic. Darius turned to look at him, and he didn’t know how it was possible for him to feel something like that, but he was sure that it was not mere coincidence.
Theo had gotten the heads-up from Darius while they were back at home, and it was something that he wouldn’t want to enjoy doing. Knowing that there was something going to happen soon, he was not going to take the risk of letting them walk in like that.
"Stay close, guys; this feels like all those other dungeons that suddenly change once you are in, so I wouldnt want anything to make it hard for us to—"
They hadn’t even gotten far when they felt a chilling wave; it was as cold as the shores close to the docks. But the difference was, it didn’t smell of peace or anything like that; it had an eerie vibe with all of it.
"Theo, stand close..." Darius was looking ahead and felt something different; he was not sure what, but it was a bit stronger than the other things he had felt.
’The pressure from this place alone, it is not looking fun at all!’
Darius was looking ahead; they were still walking into the dungeon. He slowly pulled Ve’xa and the red cobra blade out. Looking up, he knew that there was going to be something so sinister and unforgiving waiting for them in there.
Theo pulled out his spear, Michael had charged his gauntlets up, and Raya had already drawn her blade. They were not going to be letting anything hold them down, and they were going to make sure that no matter what.
As they drew closer to the dungeon, something changed, but it wasn’t visible enough, but they could feel it. It was something odd, almost like the harsh mana had been removed.
[Approaching The Guardian of the Sanctuary: Aya, the Muse of the Abyssal Tides!]
Darius was looking at the screen; he knew what was going to be waiting for them was something that no one would be able to handle.
"Alright," The young warrior stepped closer to Theo, away from the others. He whispered, "There is something on the other side of this dungeon that I dont know if this is going to be the right word to describe it. It wont be something any of us can—"
[Warning! Aya has activated hymns of the sunken voyagers: Ability will....
Before the system could finish giving the message, it was cut off. Darius began hearing weird sounds from the dungeon, but something was off.
The sound was like the melody of seraphim only seen in plays and movies; it made Darius lose his focus, but he was fighting it, trying to be on his feet, looking up.
"Theo, Michael, Raya, this is...."
He couldn’t finish talking, seeing that there was something odd going on. The three of them were being pulled into the dungeon, and it was like they were being drawn by something.
"No, no!" Darius moved in front of them, trying to block their path to make them stop, but it was like they were hypnotized, not seeing what was going on.
"This isn’t funny, Theo; stop moving!" Darius was trying to push them back, but they were still moving.
[Warning—Guardian Has Activated Siren’s Control—People under the influence of the hymn are now doing the bidding of the guardian!]
Theo swung his spear; Darius was fast to dodge it. He looked up to see that Theo was not even in his right mind to listen to him.
Darius was looking at his friends, and he could see that they were not going to be letting him go that easily.
Raya’s body began letting out blue cinders of flame. Darius had his eyes on her, but then, before he would be able to do anything, Michael had closed in on him, delivering a deadly punch.
Darius was sent crashing down into the dungeon. He didn’t know what he was going to do next. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
"What in the world is going on with you?!" Darius got up; he saw Theo charging up an attack with his spear. And he had seen the move before.
’Zerion’s bullet?!’
Darius stepped out of the way, but before he was able to get far from it, the bullet grazed him. He managed to get up on his feet, trying to put his head through the situation, but before anything could be done, he felt something hot coming from behind.
He turned to see Raya coming in with her blade covered in blue flame. Darius took another leap back, but Michael was standing there, and he was not able to get far from him.
Michael landed a blow on Darius; it was so powerful it managed to send our young warrior crashing into the dungeon walls.
He landed on his face, trying to get up. His bones seemed to have taken the hits; he looked up, and he was seeing them coming for him slowly.
"What is this?" Darius staggered as he moved up, but the moment he looked up, what he felt was a sharp blow made entirely of hot air.
Darius looked up to see Theo, and he knew that there was something off.
"I have not seen you use that before, Theo!" Darius was shocked; it was an attack that he couldn’t even imagine someone like Theo using. Almost like his phantom barrage, but this was a bit weaker; even at that, it had the same damage output.
’They aren’t themselves. I know you must think that there is something you can do to stop this, but the only idea i have is if you take down that singing wench!’ Azree chimed in; Darius was confused.
"Singing?" He looked around, trying to see if he would see anything leading him to the voice.
"I can only hear horrible noises." Darius couldn’t hear anything but the sound of dying whales.
’Kurgon’s integration made it possible for you overcome it, and I know you dont even have the slightest idea what is going on around you.’
"Yeah, no shit, I am not even sure that I can handle the next attack." Darius looked up to see the three coming down looking at him weirdly; he couldn’t bring himself to hurt them. "Since when did Theo get this strong?"
Darius noticed the difference in power and that there was something odd going on.
"Almost like he got twice as strong..."
’The spell, it breaks all the limiters in the person’s body, and you get so powerful without knowing it. Making you the ultimate puppet, they are asleep, and the only way for you to win is to kill the guardian or break the spell holding them.’
Azree explained, feeling the weight of the situation, Darius could only keep looking at his friends.
Seeing them, he knew the only thing he would be able to do was to take them down without using lethal force.
"This has to be one hell of a punishment."
