Legacy Of Fire: Chronicles Of The F-ranked Anomaly-Chapter 43: Someone’s Watching

Slightly above the city, two beings could be seen looking down on them. Their faces were hidden in a cloak that seemed to shimmer like they were covered in precious stones, and the space around them was distorting.

"To think we would see the day a Basilisk Sage such as Slav would be taken down. it ruined most of our plans." One of the beings said, its voice void of life, the being sounded detached from reality.

"I know, the boy turned out to be a miscalculation on our side. Now the knights are trying to break into this world, We can’t hold them for long, can we now?" The other replied, its voice sounding like a calm storm. It seemed to be rather playful than the other one.

The other being turned, it was looking in the open. "I can feel the vessel. The mortal seems to be getting stronger. It seems Azree is aiding him."

The first had a smile on its face, it raised one of its hands. "The Divine aren’t going to sit aside and watch this happen. The games are about to begin, and soon, this world will be turned into a playground. The divine will have all the fun, and the mortals will perish!"

The other smiled, keeping his gaze into the distance. "Let’s hope he is going to be up for the challenge."

It turned and crossed its hands, opening a spatial portal, and both beings walked out.

Back at his house, Darius suddenly got goosebumps. He turned sharply to see if he would spot anything.

"What was that?"

He felt someone’s sharp gaze on him, but he was inside his house, and there was no way for anyone to see him.

’What is it?’ Azree spoke up after noticing Darius’s worried behaviour.

"I think it is nothing much, I thought someone was watching me." Darius shook off the thought from his mind. He had been practicing for the past four hours, and he was trying to see if he would get somewhere with his skills before he headed back to the training ground.

{Penalty Over! Regeneration Has Been Reactivated!}

’Finally!’ Darius was happy that the penalty was over, and he was going to get his body back in shape. "Time to see if I have been making progress or if I have been playing with myself!"

’Easy now, you know what happened last time. Like I told you, your abilities are stronger than you give them credit for, so when using them, be sure to push it to the limit.’ Azree added.

’I know Azree. This time, I am going to make sure I take them down.’ Darius sprung up.

’Open Training Ground!’

Darius walked in, and looked around to see if he was going to be ambushed by any of the golems.

{Commence Phase 1}

Immediately the smaller golems came out, and Darius took a deep breath. Eyes locked on the Golems, he pulled out the Red Cobra Blade and dashed for them.

He was faster than them. Closing in on the beasts, he shattered all eight in the blink of an eye.

{Speed Reinforcement complete- user is now three times faster than before.}

’Neat party trick, Darius. Phase two begins any second.’ Azree reminded Darius.

"I am waiting." Darius threw his sword to the side; he smiled as he waited for the golems to form. "It’s time for a rematch!"

The two eight-foot-tall golems formed. Almost immediately, one dashed for Darius, but he didn’t respond, almost like he was waiting for it to do that.

The massive rock monster swung for Darius, but Darius blocked the blow with his arm, sending a sharp pain to his arm.

’I see you!’ Darius smiled as he kicked the golem back; he had a smile on his face.

Flashback To An Hour Ago

Darius was having a conversation with Azree concerning his skills and how he was using them.

"So you mean I am getting hurt because of my inconsistent use of the abilities?" Darius wondered what he was doing wrong, knowing that he was using the power how he thought was right.

’Something like that,’ Azree responded. ’Skills like Harden is meant to be on always. You never know when an enemy will try to strike. You should also know how to counter with a sharper and faster blow. Always let them be devasting.’

Flashback End

The golem sprung back up and dashed for Darius again. It closed in on the warrior, and both of them began trading blows that caused shockwaves around the training ground.

Suddenly, Darius felt an overwhelming force trying to push him down. He looked to the side, he saw the other golem was doing something.

{Golem has activated: Dragon’s Pull-Modified Trying to Crush Opponent with sheer force.}

Darius had a sinister smirk on his face. he struggled to stand, but once he did, the Pull was broken. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂

"I was waiting for that, you are quite the readable." Darius kicked the golem in front back a few feet. He then turned to look at the other one, using his skill.

Darius raised his hand in the golem’s direction. "Let’s see how you like this!"

A powerful wave sent the golem back, causing it to crash into the walls.

Darius was waiting for the other golem to attack him again. Just as Darius thought, the golem lunged for him with incredible speed.

Darius blocked his attack, noticing that the golem was mirroring his strength again. He grabbed it by the head, looking at the golem.

{Wrym’s Roar Activated!}

Darius released the attack right on the golem’s face, shattering it.

"One down." He turned to see the other golem charging up its attack.

{Warning: Golem has activated Modified Dragon’s Bullet- twice as fast!}

’Twice, huh?’ Darius smiled as he dashed for the golem. He didn’t have a clear plan of what he was going to do.

The golem fired the attack. Darius smiled as he kept going for it.

Darius released his own bullet, and the two attacks collided, causing a devasting shockwave throughout the training ground.

Darius seized the opportunity to leap for the golem. raising his hand, he summoned his sword with his skill. The sword landed in Darius’s hand the moment he was in front of the stone monster.

"This ends here!" Darius yelled as he landed a blow, shattering the golem.

Darius sat down with a smile on his face. He felt fulfilled; he let out a sigh of relief. "Finally!"
