"It’s good to see you awake, Mr. Winters. You have been asleep for seven days." Liu had a smile on his face when he saw Darius awake.

The young warrior was out cold for a week, it was a miracle he walked into the uncharted dungeon and even came out. He was not meant to survive whatever it was Liu saw there, but still, Darius was not just any warrior.

"It is good to be up. Thank you for looking after Lena." Darius scratched his head, he knew they must have been taking care of her since he was asleep. "I know she must have been a handful when I was out."

"Nonsense, if anything, my daughter is always happy to have over. She is like a second child to us." Liu kept smiling, but in reality, he was looking at Darius. He wondered how one warrior could walk into something like that and make it out alive.

’He has plenty of scars on his body from the fight but no physical wounds, almost like his body regenerates on its own.’

Liu looks at Darius in awe of the kind of man before him.

"So, once you’re in good shape, you will come for the reassessment test, am I right?" Liu looked at Darius; he was not sure if he could make him take it.

"Yeah, I intend on doing that." The young warrior replied. For some reason, he was ready for it.

Liu had a smile on his face. Darius was going to be joining a guild, so there wouldn’t be a problem. "That is good. You will then begin to look for guilds, and I know there is no way you won’t find one since you are strong and..."

"I am not joining any guild."

Liu paused when he heard what Darius said, he was not sure if he was going to be able to handle him if he wasn’t in a guild.

"What do you mean by that? Do you want to go solo? That is something I can’t guarantee my help on." He was looking at Darius, trying to see why he was not trying to join a guild.

"Theo and I already decided — we’re starting our own guild after my test."Darius pointed out his reason; he was not sure if Liu was going to be happy to hear it, but then he noticed that there was a look on his face.

"Theo? Theo Sung?" The man asked in a rather puzzled tone; he was not sure if he was hearing the correct thing. Was it possible the warrior was friends with a member of the Sung family?

Darius nodded; he was looking at Liu, trying to understand why he was surprised.

"I take it you will be the leader since you are the stronger one?" Liu was still looking at Darius.

"Nope, I will be okay with being the vice captain." Darius smiled; his smile was so pure it made Liu almost turn to stone.

Liu was still puzzled; he had seen warriors as strong as Darius jumping at the chance to be the leader of a guild so they would milk it. "I see. May I ask why you aren’t taking the role of leader?"

Darius understood that his decision was something that would bring questions.

"I don’t fancy the whole leader thing. Don’t get me wrong, I want to help out, but the idea of them following me because I am strong doesn’t sit well with me." Darius looked at his hand, he knew he had to do more than just lead. "There are decisions I can’t make, but someone like Theo would be able to make these decisions, and there would be no problems."

Liu was looking at Darius, he could see that the warrior was not someone trying to hoard power or use it for something sinister; rather, he was happy with what he had.

"I see." Liu smiled as he stood up, and he walked close to the bed. "I would look forward to working with you, Darius Winters."

Darius couldn’t help but smile back. "Me too! I will make sure I don’t cause much trouble for you."

Both of them shared a laugh. Liu was looking at Darius, and he could see it. It was as clear as day that the warrior was different from others.

After a few minutes, Liu left the warrior to get some rest. Darius laid down on the bed. He was going to get discharged that evening, and he would be heading home if Lena came to see him.

"Azree, are you okay?" Darius asked. He noticed that Azree was unusually quiet.

’I am fine,’ Azree gave him a quick reply.

"Heh, I thought you faded away." Darius had a taunting smile on his face; he didn’t know why, but the moment he wanted to tell Azree about the man he saw, he was forced to stop.

’Darius,’ Azree called for him.

"Yeah?" The warrior replied that he didn’t know what Azree wanted to tell him.

’You did well in the Trial of Fire, but you know this is not going to be an opportunity to get lazy. There are still six more trials coming your way, and your enemies might not be only the Kings now but beings you may have never expected.’

Darius already knew he was in the middle of something huge, and for some reason, it felt like he was the centre of attention.

"I know, and I am not going to stop here, you know. I am going to keep getting stronger so one day I can make those kings shit their pants!" He cracked his knuckles with a smile on his face.

’You would need to be extremely powerful to take them on. Even before you reach the kings, there would be enemies more terrifying than them. But knowing you, there is no telling what you will bite down to win.’ Azree said it felt like he was trying to hold in a laugh.

Darius smiled; he knew something was going to be happening soon. He needed to brace himself so nothing was going to be in his way.

"Azree, with you here. I think I will be able to take on anything!"

’Of course, why else am I here? Or did you think your rock for brains would have helped you out?!’ Azree quipped back.

Darius felt defeated; he thought he was having a moment with Azree. But he walked into it by himself, so he was not going to be able to save himself.

"You can have this one!" Darius was looking up at the ceiling, he could imagine Azree laughing at him. But then the young warrior could only imagine what was waiting for him. Doubt clouded his mind, if he was going to be able to take on anything. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

’I would need to be strong! That is the only way for me to make it out of all this alive and make sure nothing will leave Lena sad!’ Darius tightened his fists, his eyes determined. ’I am going to tackle anything that comes my way, and I will win!’
