Legacy of the Dark Sage-Chapter 139 A Lead
The moment Kyran appeared from the fissure, the scenes that followed were beyond Silas's expectations.
From Lady Lumi's embarrassing display to Kyran's indifference, then the Lord of the Tower's so-called jealousy, and finally the revelation that everything Lady Lumi had done was actually just a prank.
Everything that had happened jumped from one event to another, making Silas unable to react appropriately. He even failed to respond to Lady Lumi's sudden transformation. By the time he did, she had already reverted to her cute form.
Frankly, Silas was surprised that Kyran realized that Lady Lumi was only playing a prank. Silas had known her longer, and yet he was convinced of her acting, and he even felt a little envious by the fact that this young man could get a woman's affection so quickly.
Was he not supposed to be the lady killer character here?
Pushing all the unnecessary thoughts at the back of his mind, Silas decided to remain silent and observe.
Recalling the situation the Lord of the Tower told them yesterday, Kyran was busy acquiring materials for the Conclave.
Last night, Kyran already transported two of the materials. Today, they expected to receive another material.
When Lady Lumi heard of this, she insisted on waiting for Kyran. Though there was no guarantee that he would appear, Silas had no choice but to ask the Lord of the Tower's permission.
And now that Kyran had taken out the supposed materials he needed to deliver, Silas was shocked.
The huge container used to keep the materials was transparent apart from its colored lid, making it easier for Silas and the rest to see what was inside.
And inside were bodies of one of the infamous mutated forest beasts for its aggressiveness found in the south; the Theihorns.
Hearing Kyran's complacent narration of how he met and fought them, Silas was speechless.
It was the same with the other council members.
Apart from the Lord of the Tower, the Head Master, and Lady Lumi, who seemed to have a matter-of-factly expression, the rest of them were left with cold sweats running down their backs.
Kyran seriously took out three Theihorns all on his own? Was he still human?
Recalling the rumors that the Regis Clan's strength had declined over the past years, Silas wanted to tell those gossip mongers to get their facts straights.
Was this what you call a decline in power?
"That's about it," Kyran said after telling them a brief account of his encounter with the Theihorns.
"Your injuries," Stella insisted.
Kyran waved his hand and shook his head.
"As I said, it was nothing."
Lumi, on the other hand, was looking at Kyran's profile. She still had her chubby hands on his face as she sat on his shoulder.
[Void Master, you're internal injuries are not 'nothing'. I sense an irregular magic circulation inside you.]
Kyran's brow creased slightly. He did not expect that Spirits could see a person's magic circulations. Honestly, he also sensed that there was something wrong with his magic core. He was unsure which one, but he knew it was not his Void Core or the Draconic Core. Since it did not seem to hinder his mobility and magic usage, he decided to observe for now.
Seeing Kyran's reluctance, Lumi could only sigh in her heart. This side of him was similar to the previous Void Master. Although she had not met the last Void Master, their elders said he did not want to worry his friends. To the point where he preferred to suffer alone.
[Alright. I won't say anything. But if something happens, return here at once. Your real journey has yet to start. You have to take care.]
Kyran looked at Lumi.
He did not say anything, but she felt what he wanted to say, and she smiled.
The exchange between the two, albeit subtle, did not go unnoticed by Stella and Silas.
Before Stella could say anything, Lumi already flew and went to sit on Silas's head while Kyran looked at Malek, Noir, and Vaness.
"Do we have any update on the stone?" He asked.
"We do," Malek replied.
Although the two still had an unfinished business between them, they acted civilly toward each other.
"To be precise, it is a lead to how we can acquire the stone. But it is still uncertain," Malek continued and looked at Vaness.
Vaness walked over to Kyran and gave him a small parchment.
"Is that a report that came this morning?" Stella asked and also walked over to stand beside Kyran.
"Yes, Milord." Vaness answered.
Kyran unrolled the parchment and read its content. Stella also looked over from his side.
After a couple of minutes, Kyran gave a brief nod. However, instead of commenting on what he had read, he turned his attention to the man with long silver hair.
Silas was a little surprised, but he kept his cool and returned Kyran's stare.
Noticing Kyran's silence, Stella looked at him and saw him looking at Silas. Immediately she said, "It's okay. We can trust him."
"Right," Kyran replied, giving the parchment to Stella. "That group may have a map we can use."
He looked at Vaness and asked, "How confident are your people in capturing the target?"
Vaness smiled faintly and shook his head, "I am also unsure. We can only trust their judgement in executing the plan."
Kyran frowned. Vaness was practically telling him to leave everything to fate, and he did not like it.
"If they are not confident in capturing the target, it is best they stay put and wait for me. If not, once they failed, the target will definitely be on guard. There is a chance the Templar Code may also be alerted."
Silas's eyes narrowed. He was not privy to the details of the materials Kyran was gathering for the Conclave, but when he heard the word stone followed by the Templar Code, there was only one conclusion that came to his mind; the rare stone of the Shaiha Ruins.
"You're right. Unfortunately, this report was sent yesterday. Chances are, they are already preparing to execute the plan." Vaness replied.
"Unfortunately, our communication channel in the west is still lacking, thus, the delay in transmission. Even if we contact them now, there is no guarantee that they will receive it before they move." Malek added.
Kyran took a deep breath and crossed his arms across his chest.
If he returned to the forest outside Hanaan and exhausted his stash of energy replenishing potion from warping to Noser, he would still need half a day. Warping from here to Noser was also impossible because he had to pass through Meliora, which would take much longer. Not to mention, the Royal Army's Headquarters were there.
"How long do you need to get to Noser?" Sigma asked.
"Half a day at most," Kyran replied while looking at him.
"Half a day?" Silas could not help but exclaim.
They all looked at him.
Immediately, Silas laughed uneasily while shaking his head and waving his hand in front of him.
"Apologies for my ignorance," he said.
"Stupid Silas," Lumi muttered on top of his head. "We're talking about the Void Master. Getting there in half a day is not surprising!"
Then she turned her attention to Kyran and looked at him quizzically. She asked, "But why do you need half a day? Why not go there in seconds?"
Kyran shook his head. "I can't. I haven't been there before so I don't have a clear image of the place where I can warp to."
"The last Void Master had been there," Lumi replied.
Kyran frowned slightly.
"I-."
"He is not..." Stella interjected while looking at Lumi meaningfully. f𝔯ee𝘸𝘦𝚋𝒏oѵ𝐞l.c𝒐𝓂
In turn, Lumi's brows lifted in realization.
Kyran did not see Stella's meaningful look because he was only looking at Lumi.
Among the council members, it was only Malek who saw this subtle exchange.
With a sigh of resignation, Lumi said, "Well, if you can't warp, there is still another way. As a member of the Regis Clan, you should know what I am talking about."
Kyran fell silent. He was actually surprised that Lumi knew about it.
The rest inside all turned their attention to Kyran after hearing Lumi's words.
There was another way that a Regis Clan could do?
"True," Kyran admitted. "But that also needed me to visualize the place where I have to go."
"Oh, you don't have to worry about that. Let stupid Silas take you there."
"Me?" Silas looked up at Lumi incredulously.
His action, however, made Lumi slip a bit, and she immediately flared up, "You stupid little-! Take this!"
Her signature small snowball attack rained on Silas's head.
Silas could only hang his head to one side and resign to his fate.
Blacklines appeared on everyone's head.
This... Who was the master, and who was the contracted one?
Kyran, who did not seem to think anything was wrong, said, "I don't even know him."
Lumi stopped throwing snowballs at Silas and flew in midair. She winked at Kyran and said, "Don't worry. He is too stupid to be of any threat to you."
"L-Lady Lumi. Can't you at least keep my dignity intact?"
"Who cares about your dignity?"
Seriously, who was the master?
"Besides," Lumi said and looked back at Kyran. "Little Silas here, is a newly appointed Regis Emissary, if anything, he is someone you can slave around."
Her remark immediately piqued Kyran's attention.
