Legacy Of The Extra-Chapter 65: Heldenstein(5)
Chapter 65 - Heldenstein(5)
Great, everything went perfectly.
Other than me.
I was the string that freed itself from the bounds of the predetermined script. Which I of course accepted.
It is something I wanted and something I needed to change.
Now, I can feel all the students gazing at me. Some were gazing with intrigue, others just plain old admiration. I could even see from the side of my eye that Raiden, Leona and Cynthia were blatantly staring at me.
Wait, why Cynthia? She was not supposed to be like that.
Also, the girl students would sneak some glances at me, their cheeks burning if my eyes met theirs.
Wait, am I actually handsome?
[Yes, yes. You are.] Dante blurted out.
Why didn't you tell me before? Do you know how looks can actually help in persuasion? The fucking charm stat exists for that reason alone.

[I did try to tell you, but that system of yours—Croft—kept interrupting me all the time. At one point, one guy would give up and move forward.]
So, she was the one who made my Charm stat show an error?
[Of course, it was her. She is the SYSTEM. NOT ME.]
Ok, ok, calm down.
Calming Dante down, my head fell into a deep spiral. Why would Croft do that? Was she ordered by the being that brought me here? Or is she trying to gate-keep me from pursuing other girls?
Well, whatever.
Apart from my own self-discovery, the academy scene played out perfectly. It was the same in the game—Raiden sitting with Leona and Cynthia. Alea was sitting with Felix, and I was supposed to be sitting with Elisabeth.
Supposed to be.
I've got nothing more to do with her.
In the first place, it was her family that wanted this engagement, not both of us. Or rather, the previous Noah did like this.
He loved her and was loyal.
I'll give him that.
But the gameplay I saw from the forums. I won't fucking forget that. How she clearly enjoyed Raiden being inside her on the day of my fucking funeral.
I—He died saving her.
And this is what he got in return, no one would blame me if I went full ballistic on her and ended her right now. But, I won't. She had done nothing for now, and if I don't intervene, she'll die anyway.
And also because I am the kindest man in this world.
As for now, I have almost had some credit deducted on the first day of my very sweet Academy life. By coming in late.
What happened was that throughout the whole train ride, Croft was rather off. She was responding to me at all, even though she was fine a few moments before.
She is basically one of my only useful companions whom I wouldn't want to lose.
[Does that include me?] Dante asked.
It sure does, don't worry.
Anyway, so the actual reason for my late entrance was my high level of... Excitement.
Yes, I got too excited and visited every building on the campus grounds and on the way, met Albert Weichts—Another first-year student like me who was actually lost.
Even though there were signs dictating the directions.
But, of course, I have no complaints. Using him, I can control his grandpa.
[More like threaten him.] Dante scoffed.
Sure, think whatever you want.
I sat back down on the seat near Albert. The seats were soft and good for people with back pain.
From the corner of my eye, I looked at Albert. This Guy was seriously a wimp. He has no confidence at all, but there are two factors about him that shine.
First, he is an enchanter.
A subclass in the game that allows one to imbue special effects on their weapons and armour. Things such as fire resistance or frost resistance. And some also boost, like weapon damage increase or agility increase.
Second, he is great with the sword.
Or let's say he is talented with it. As being from a family of a knight, Albert is gifted with the way of the sword. But he never chooses to use them properly because he is scared of fights.
Hey, I don't condemn him. I am not those sycophants of nobles who judge everyone based on their fighting skills alone.
See, I am totally a good guy.
[Right.]
Anyways, ignoring Dante, my eyes shifted to the man on the podium. Grey hair neatly slid back, wrinkles on his face that made him look old. Overall, an old man, right?
Bloody wrong.
One thing I have learned from the media is that you never underestimate an old person in a novel or a game. They are some of the strongest beings out there.
It was the same case here as well.
He is the Headmaster of Heldenstein Academy, Magnus Von Edevane. An Archon-level monster who surprisingly disappeared during the Academy Invasion.
Suspicious.
Or so everyone would think. He actually went for the talks of peace with the Ironvale Kingdom, which ultimately failed and led to the war.
He is a pretty chill guy—just don't break rules and most importantly... Don't mess with his granddaughter. Which I might have to.
"Uhm," Magnus cleared his throat, his piercing blue eyes looking at the student body. "Now then, let us begin."
"I, Magnus Von Edevane, the Headmaster of the Heldenstein Academy of the Germainia Empire, welcome you, students, alongside the other teachers who are present here."
My eyes snapped to the few people standing near the back. Those were the teachers who would each get a class assigned.
"As you know, this Academy stood for a long time. Surviving countless conquests and wars. It is built to give the talented and disciplined a chance to rise and break the spines of the arrogant ones."
"This academy values its students' consistent effort rather than their bloodline or legacy. Those are important, yes. But what is more important is the youth working together to build the Empire's future."
Well, that is true, but still, the noble faction and commoner faction exist in the Academy. Heck, the first semester is about Raiden shuffling among them.
"Treat each other with respect. Learn from each other. And most importantly, abide by the rules and maintain your discipline."
Magnus's eyes swept over all of us again, stopping over me for a fraction of a second before uttering. "That is all from me. Now, the Teachers and the Council President will give their respective speeches."
A round of applause resounded across the whole ceremonial room.
Gods, I wish I could skip the cutscene just like in the game. But I have to bear with it, I guess.
[Hold E to skip the Cutscene.]
Shut up, Dante.
After that, the teachers gave their respective speeches, which were boring as hell. They made me yawn like ten times in a row. Like, come on, be professional and craft a good speech.
Then came the President of the Student Council.
He gave an alright, alright speech, which made him seem like a fun guy, which he was. Black hair neatly combed. He had warm, Hazel eyes, and his White coat had the trims of obsidian, meaning he was a fifth-year student.
But still, I don't judge by first impressions.
[Did not stop you from judging Ezekiel.] Dante sneered.
But I was right about him.
"Now, with this, I conclude my speech. The members of the student council will show the campus around for the newcomers. Please, be ready." The president bowed, he has a muscular build that shows from the way his suit twitches.
He should seriously change it before it explodes.
But oh well, it is none of my business.
I stood up from the seat, and so did every other student. It was now time to tour the campus of the Academy.
Facing Albert, I thanked him for standing with my excuse. "Thanks for the help back there, buddy. Your name—it was Albert, right?"
"Y-Yes!" He shook my hands with his trembling hand. "Y-you are Sir Noah Von Blitzfeld, right?"
"I indeed am. Nice to meet you."
"N-nice to meet you, too!"
This guy does not seem that annoying, maybe I can keep him around, and when Valkan tries to threaten me—I can bring this shy guy out.
Wait, I left Alicia alone. Where is she?
"Noah..." A voice came from behind, a voice all too familiar—Sickeningly sweet, coated in nothing but poison. My brows twitched as the smile on my face faded, I turned my head to glance at the shit that had approached me.
Beautiful Auburn hair that reached till her shoulders. Blue eyes that held nothing but fake warmth and gentleness. She was nothing but a deception.
"Elisabeth..." My jaw tightened as her name left my lips.
"We need to talk..."
