The call connected and Lucas came to a dilemma as to what to say. For the starting seconds, the man on the other side didn’t speak either.

"Hello Uncle Daryl, how is life?"

-"What do you need lad? I am busy."-

Lucas’s cheek twitched in annoyance.

"I need some equipment urgently, how about you give me a hammer for starters."

-"I am busy, haven’t John told you I don’t take orders right away? You have to be on the waiting list."-

"No, he didn’t tell me."

-"Nothing I can do about it. I have a million things to do now that I joined this territory."-

Lucas was annoyed with the way the guy spoke to him. He may have been John’s cousin yet Lucas didn’t like how he was talking with the leader of a territory that he did business with.

"Oh, then I guess I will have to order from my brother this time. He just started after I told him about you. Alright, bye."

-"Wait, wh-"-

Lucas disconnected the call while smiling cheekily.

"Damn, how will I get the hammer now?"

Lucas looked at the bones for a few seconds until he thought about something. He looked at his hands and then at the bones again, something was cooking in his brain that he couldn’t help but try.

He brought all the bones inside his workshop and laid them one by one in a line.

Lucas crouched with a long bone in his hand. Without thinking much, he mustered his strength in minimum and swung the bone’s joint part right at the metallic floor.

BANG!

The bone first split in half and then many pieces went everywhere. But due to the small tent of leather around the workshop, they stayed inside.

Lucas gathered the small pieces and smiled, he had already completed the work by halfway.

He smashed the bone in his hand again and again on the metallic ground which didn’t seem to dent anytime soon. Read exclusive chapters at novelbuddy

A few moments later, There were many pieces on the ground, some pointy while some blunt. They were in high numbers.

Lucas was not dumb enough to start punching the bones that would a hundred percent make his skin tear just for making them into powder.

He knew what he was doing when he called up Jerry to the workstation.

After a few minutes, the man was finally down there looking at everything with curiosity.

It still didn’t stop him from picking his nose as if he didn’t know Lucas was there.

"Why don’t you come here often?"

"I don’t have anything to do here, so, what am I here for?"

"Nothing much, just help me in crushing these bones to powder. I might need your tough skin skill."

"Wait, are you saying you want to use me like a tool?" Jerry asked with a serious face and Lucas couldn’t help but tilt his head. If he also refused then Lucas was going to be in serious trouble.

"Hahahahahaha! I finally have something to do here too huh? Just bring the darn things here and consider the task complete already."

"I like your enthusiasm. Alright, just wait a minute, I will get things ready. That way, you won’t have to come here repeatedly to do this task."

Lucas went to pile all the stuff up on a big leather piece, he kept all the small chunks in it and broke some more by smashing them all together on the metallic surface again.

"Damn, don’t you have a hammer?" Jerry asked while peeking inside Lucas’s workshop, looking at the mess that was everywhere.

"We don’t have that stuff in here. If you remember clearly, we are not on Earth anymore." Lucas said while grumbling letting Jerry know that he was touchy about this topic.

"Ohh? Then how do we have shovels and stone breakers something? What was it called again?"

"Pickaxe"

"Ah, yes, Pickaxe. Didn’t we get them from that Daryl, John’s cousin? He made all of our furniture and cutlery too, didn’t he?"

"Would you just shut up and activate your skill already? We don’t have all day!"

"Hahaha, alright. But don’t tell me you messed things up with that guy. He basically is our convenience store at this point."

"Oh, he messed things up pretty good alright."

Lucas and Jerry looked out of the workshop and saw John looking at the duo with a frown.

It was an expression that was not seen much on his face.

"Lucas, why did you tell Daryl we have someone else to buy things from? And that too when we are starting to sell our potions and concrete bricks?"

"Uncle John! He… He was just too full of himself! Someone had to teach him alright?!" Lucas tried his best to say something in his defense but at the end of the day, he knew he was in for a delightful scolding.

Lucas didn’t mind the scolding, he was not a child. He only cared about the respect that he could lose in John’s eyes.

"I know he is full of himself but that is because his work is good and he already had made his name among many groups. I already told you that. Now, what would you do if he stops trading with us?"

"Stop trading with us? He can’t even think of something like that. My god, the amount of extra meat we send that guy out of courtesy is already too much. He can’t possibly break off the trade. Even if he does, I am sure I can find someone else, Uncle John. Believe me."

"Oh, I believe you completely. You are our chosen leader for that reason. But it doesn’t change the fact that the deal with a good craftsman was hindered."

"Yeah he is good but still, we don’t have to put up with such attitude. We are self-sufficient already. I asked for a simple hammer on an urgent base yet he couldn’t give me that. So I already devised a plan of using Jerry’s tough skin as a hammer."

"Yeah, the boy is right. I am the hammer of the workshop!" Jerry interjected with his drama which made John click his tongue hard.

"Sigh… that is good enough if you think so... I just wanted to warn you that not everyone can go according to our plan. I hope you understand that. Other than that, I believe your attempt at making him lose some bad attitude has worked successfully."

"Huh?"
