Legendary Superstar-Chapter 174: Grand Party (3)
As they stepped onto the stage, a soft spotlight illuminated each of them one by one. The applause roared louder on the hall, and the hosts welcomed the casts with warm smiles.
Wongjin took a step forward and greeted them first.
"Wow, just look at this star-studded lineup," she said, clearly impressed at the looks of everyone.
"Welcome to the stage, cast of The Star's Secret! You all look absolutely stunning tonight."
"Thank you," Yura replied with a polite bow, her voice smooth but steady, despite being nervous.
"We're really looking forward to this drama. I'm sure many here are, too. Could you each give a quick introduction and maybe share something you're excited about?" Daniel beamed, showing off an idol-like smile that the people loved.
Minjae stepped closer to the mic first, giving a short nod. Since he was the male lead of the drama, it was only just right for him to start.
"Woohh!"
"Nam Minjae!"
"Go Oppa!"
A few shouts from Minjae's fans in the hall echoed.
Minjae chuckled lightly before his eyes stared straight forward. He slightly bowed his head and introduced himself.
"Hello, I'm Nam Minjae, playing the role of Taeyung, the main lead of the drama, 'The Star's Secret'," he said, his voice calm and steady as if he wasn't feeling any pressure on his shoulders.
"It's an honor to be part of a story that shows both the brilliance and the struggles behind the curtain of stardom. I hope you'll support us and find meaning in the journey of our characters."
The crowd let out a round of supportive cheers
Next was Yura. She stepped slightly forward, the stage lights dancing across her silver jewelry. She looked gorgeous on the stage that the people can't help but be amused when they saw her on the stage.
"Hello, I'm Seo Yura, and I'll be playing the female lead for the drama. This drama is special to me because this will be my first ever drama. The story will dive deep into the dreams, heartbreaks, and healing of people who live under a constant spotlight," she said, her tone was warm and heartfelt.
"Please look forward to it. We've worked hard, and I believe it'll open more understanding to the people on what idols experience in their everyday life." Yura showed a wide smile.
People clapped at the venue as he slightly bowed her head after. She was gaining a few fans from the crowd, especially those who were surprised by her beauty.
Yura could easily rank high when it comes to beauty. She was one of the most beautiful women at the venue, so there was no doubt that after today, she'd definitely gain more fans.
Jihoon followed right after, gripping the mic with both hands for a second before speaking. He was usually a loud talker, a person who initiates conversation among the fans. However, under the spotlight, he can't help but feel a little pressured.
His heart was beating loudly against his chest. His palms were also cold and sweaty, her fingers even slightly trembling.
When Minjae saw it in the distance, he can't help but laugh. He didn't know that Jihoon has this side of him.
"Hi everyone, I'm Kang Jihoon. And I play Junseo, one of the second leads in this drama," he began, exhaling softly. He tried to steady the way he breathed so that his voice wouldn't be affected by his racing heart.
"Honestly, this was my first time working on a drama, and I didn't know it would be like this. I had a lot of fun and I learned a lot from the amazing cast beside me. I'm thankful and excited. Please give us lots of love."
The crowd clapped again, some light cheers of "Jihoon!" echoing from the back. They were some of Minjae's fans who found Jihoon funny, especially with his scenes in 3 days and 2 nights. ƒrēenovelkiss.com
Then the next speeches came from Seojin and Haejin, who introduced themselves after each other.
"I'm Park Seojin, and I play one of the second female lead in the drama." Seojin said with a soft smile, her eyes twinkling under the bright lights.
"And I'm Jung Haejin, also one of the second leads in the drama," Haejin added. "This drama is really fun to shoot. We hope you'll enjoy it as much as we enjoyed filming it. Thank you!"
The last 2 people to give their speeches were Director Hwand and Writer Na-Eun. The two weren't foreign to these kinds of things, so they weren't an ounce nervous.
Director Hwang took the mic next, his voice firm and heartfelt.
"Good evening, everyone. I'm Director Hwang. The Star's Secret is not just about fame. It's about people—how far they go, what they lose, and what they hold onto. I hope this story reminds you of your own dreams." He said simply against the mic.
Director Hwang rarely smiled, but in that moment, he showed a small one. He even bowed afterward to the people to show his sincerity over the drama.
Finally, Writer Na-Eun gave a small bow before speaking. Since she was the writer, she had more thoughts to input about the drama.
"Hello, everyone!" Na-Eun greeted, her voice warm yet composed, her eyes scanning the crowd with a quiet fondness.
"I'm Na-Eun, the writer of The Star's Secret."
She paused briefly, allowing herself to breathe a little as the lights softened above her. Despite being behind the scenes, she carried the calm confidence of someone deeply connected to the story.
"This story is very personal to me," she began. "Before becoming a writer, I worked part-time as an intern for idols and actors. I've seen firsthand the pressure they carry, the exhaustion behind their smiles, and the loneliness behind everyone's applause." Her voice wavered just slightly, revealing her sincerity.
"I always wondered what it would be like if people saw more than just the glitz—if they could feel the stories that unfold when the cameras stop rolling. That's where The Star's Secret was born." The hall was now quiet, and the audience was visibly moved by Na-Eun's words.
"I wanted to write something that would humanize the people we look up to. Their strength. Their insecurities. Their fears. Their dreams. And most especially, their desire to be loved not just for what they do on stage, but for who they are when no one's watching."
She looked to the cast beside her, then smiled softly.
"I'm incredibly lucky to have such a passionate team bring this story to life. Every line, every moment was written with care, and I hope it finds its way into your hearts. Please look forward to it and thank you for being here tonight."
A heartfelt round of applause followed Na-Eun's speech, this time it was less explosive, but you could feel everyone's genuineness in it.
Even the hosts, Wongjin and Daniel, nodded solemnly. They understood what Na-Eun said since they were also an idol. The two gave each other knowing looks before they transitioned back into their cheerful tones.
"Thank you all so much for those wonderful words. Honestly, I'm already intrigued just by what you've shared, Sunbaenim!" Wongjin clapped her hands.
"Minjae-ssi, there's been a lot of buzz about your performance in the teaser. How did you prepare for such an emotional role?" Daniel chuckled, then turned to Minjae. It was now time for a small interview.
The organizers of the event prepared a set of questions already, but it was more of a guide for Daniel and Wongjin to know what to ask.
Minjae took the mic and gaze at Daniel. He have interacted with the man a couple of times back then, but they weren't really close.
"I spent a lot of time understanding Taeyung' inner world and the way he thinks. He's strong on stage, but off-stage, he's full of doubts. I tried to reflect that contrast with sincerity." Minjae paused for a second, then answered calmly,
"You definitely did, Minjae. We could feel it just from the teaser," Wongjin nodded.
"And Yura-ssi," Daniel continued as his eyes turned to Yura. He kindly smiled at her. "There's already so much praise for your chemistry with Minjae. Did you two work a lot on building that connection?"
"Yes, we did. We had a lot of discussions, not just about the script but also about our characters' pasts and emotions. It helped us become more comfortable with each other." Yura smiled lightly.
"And I guess it's pretty easy since we had a very welcoming set that allowed us to be more comfortable."
"And it shows on the teaser." Wongjin exclaimed with a bright grin. "All right, let's give one bigger round of applause for The Star's Secret cast!"
Cheers and claps echoed through the hall once again. The group bowed gracefully to the crowd, flashes from cameras lighting up the venue.
"Thank you again, everyone. We look forward to seeing you shine on screen." Daniel gave one last nod.
With that, the cast began their descent from the stage. Minjae led the way again, his expression still calm, though his hand briefly tightened around the mic before handing it off.
As they walked back to their table, people along the aisle offered polite nods, some even giving quiet compliments.
Yura leaned toward Minjae as they walked.
"Oppa, that wasn't too bad," she whispered, a relieved smile on her lips.
Minjae gave a soft chuckle.
"Told you. We'd be fine."
