Legendary Traveler: By Earning Progress Points I will Become Supreme!-Chapter 220: Operation Set Up Cavern (14)
Six days after planting the moss into the Ceiling, Aoni and his summons were relaxing after yet another monster tide within the cavern while staring up at the ceiling.
Although the phrase, watching grass grow doesn't make it grow any faster may come to mind, Aoni realized something early on when it came to the fluffy light blue plant.
So long as there was a rich amount of Energia to draw from, its growth was rather explosive.
In the short span of 6 days, the coverage had expanded from its original 320 square feet to nearly quadrupled that, at 1197 square feet.
As for how Aoni knew that, well, he was constantly climbing and checking his Summon's Display.
Additionally, under the guidance of his Attribute Notice, he would twice a day climb up and "feed" the moss with Crystal dust, further expediting its growth.
And while it wasn't something that could be seen with the naked eye in real-time, Aoni and Nyria couldn't help but notice the slight difference whenever they returned to the cavern every morning.
However, don't think for a second that the Lad and summons were being lazy…well, maybe a certain floof was naturally quite the sloth. Still, not Aoni and Nyria; nope, they had been hard at work setting up their new home, and their progress was evident, considering the entire upper ring looked nothing like before.
What was once wide open space, now held several brand new generic homes. And while they were each roughly 1400 square feet and looked the same as any other, there were almost 40 houses situated in regular intervals.
Three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, a family room, and a kitchen, each one had all the bare necessities in their most primitive form, considering they were nothing more than empty wooden cottages without running water or electricity.
Yet, for the natives of Genovia, unless you lived in a modernized City, they were more than they could hope for.
Still, in Aoni's eyes, these homes, with their thatched rooves and glassless windows, appeared like something out of a medieval fantasy novel.
Even so, the rustic homes far outshined his little cave, even with all the enhancements he'd made.
"Gaoooo?"
{'Brodder play now?'} Tugging at Aoni's pant leg, Glacia asked out of boredom. She'd already had lunch and even her afternoon nap, so of course, it was her playtime, and since the smol baby required ample amounts of stimulation, it wasn't like she could be ignored.
"Almost, just gimmie five more minutes and we can go back to planting gardens."
"OoO"
{'Kayyy! Planty plant, diggy fun, and planty funnn, be weal curful not to hurt our planty fwens!'} bouncing around and playing in the now purified lake water with her front paws, Glacia began singing one of the many songs Aoni had come up with on the fly to keep her engaged in whatever activity he and Nyria were doing.
This one, in particular, was how he kept the floof on task so that she wouldn't become a furry wrecking ball who tramples gardens.
With as many plants as he had on hand, along with some he'd scavenged from different areas of the mountain, Aoni and Nyria had come up with the idea to bring some life to the dull homes they were adding to the village.
Each house was surrounded by a handmade picket fence courtesy of Aoni and had small gardens in the front yard.
These gardens had been a pretty challenging thing to produce since, as far as the eye could see was rock…more rock, oh, and you'd never believe this, but ROCK!
The way Aoni'd circumvented this critical location flaw was to make small, half-foot-tall wooden boxes that ran half the length of the house and fill them with fresh soil from down the mountain.
Since he didn't have any plans of upgrading these flower-bearing plants, there wasn't any concern for mutation or overgrowth. Still, even if there were, it would be the homeowner's issue to deal with, as everyone was going to be expected to maintain their "yards."
Then there was the fact that each house had two of the many types of tree saplings he'd summoned and could, as such, be used as a supplemental source of food for the occupants of his village/or, eventually, town.
It was hard, backbreaking work, but after setting up so many homes, Aoni and his summons had worked out a system between them, and thus, Glacia's song.
Her job was to dig small holes in the soil and carefully place the flowers in them before carefully covering the roots while Nyria worked on the trees and Aoni set the fences in place.
Ah, right, the fences, well, those were a bit of a pain in the ass, you see. Not only would he have to break through the rocky flooring of the cavern, but keeping them uniform, straight, and looking good was challenging.
However, he enjoyed the process, and unlike the plants, Aoni had no problem upgrading the fences and, in doing so, accidentally created a SHIT TON of barrier effects.
Think of this as the first line of defense for his villagers; if they added Energia Crystals, fending off a 2-star monster wouldn't be difficult.
In the event something powerful DID break into the cavern, don't worry; those little fence barriers were only a fraction of the defensive protocols Aoni was putting in place.
Although he may not be able to upgrade the houses, as they strictly came from Nodes and not the flume, that didn't mean he was hopeless.
Nope, it came with standard reinforcements hand-crafted by him, and THESE could be and were upgraded by him.
On the outside, the cottages appeared to be standard medieval houses; however, inside, well, let's just say Aoni did a complete remodeling of each one, something that would have taken weeks, if not months, if it weren't for his stats being significantly higher than those of a Mundane.
Honestly, as stupid as it may sound, one of the things he was most proud of was the fact that each house had not only carpeted floors in the bedrooms but also tile in the kitchen and shiny polished wood flooring in the living and family rooms.

Each time he finished remodeling one of the generic homes, the Lad couldn't help but imagine how happy and amazed his people would be once they saw their new dwellings, and that alone was more than enough to make it worthwhile in his eyes…now he just needs to…you know, get some residents.
