Legendary Traveler: By Earning Progress Points I will Become Supreme!-Chapter 72: A Crazy Plan Formed Out Of Desperation
"Ababbaba, is this real life? AH, Fuckkk! COLD!!!!" A lot of things went through Aoni’s mind within a few seconds, like, wow, 75 free points, and HOLY SHIT, 4.5%, but all of that was overridden by a sudden, bitter cold, not unlike he had felt the first day he arrived on Genovia.
He immediately collapsed on the rocky mountainside and curled into a ball, at first, because he was incapable of doing anything other than shivering and chattering his teeth.
Shifting from one extreme to another wasn’t anything like changing the gears of a bicycle; no, this was like going from feeling so full you were gonna burst to being dropped into an icy lake naked, two extremes but equally dangerous.
It was this shock to the lad’s system that left him unable to move while stuck in the fetal position for several minutes.
’Plan, my plan, think about the plan; this is just like climbing the mountain when I first got here; I need to put one foot forward and keep moving.’ Unaware that he had been curled up on the ground for forty-five minutes, Aoni summoned forth his willpower and slowly stretched out his body.
"You’re *clack clack* stronger than this… get up, do some *chatter chatter* fucking jumping jacks, and GET MOVING!" Surging to his feet, the lad stood perfectly still, arms dangling and back hunched over while muttering to himself like a crazy person.
Clenching his jaw so as to stop his teeth from chattering and clacking, Aoni shot upright, sucked in a sharp, chilly yet painful breath, and did a single jumping jack…then a second, then before he knew it, he’d made it through fifty.
From there, he moved on to a more difficult exercise, burpees, which combined jumping jacks and push-ups with a straight upward jump.
But when even that last one proved ineffective at dulling the chill permeating through his body, he knew there was no point in continuing with calisthenics, and it was time for step two of his plan. Your next read is at novelbuddy
Pushing his body forward and moving stiffly, Aoni spun around, pointed himself down a familiar path, and started trudging forward.
Thunk, DRAG, thunk, DRAG, thunk DRAG.
However, even that was a difficult task because it was clear to the lad that while he may be able to move his body, it was going to fight back. Soon, he understood that dragging his feet in an awkward shuffle was his only way of moving toward his destination.
From his original position beside the large bolder next to the cave, where his campfire was placed, to the edge of the platform, Aoni traversed at a snail’s pace, making it seem like even a toddler could outrun him currently and, to be clear they probably could.
His posture and movement were akin to that of a frail old man, something that contrasted his physique and youth greatly. Yet, even with this being the case, the fire in Aoni’s eyes never diminished as his head stayed straight ahead, then…down the mountain where a faint sledding path could be seen.
Teetering and swaying back and forth with the wind, for the first time, Aoni was starting to think this was a dumb idea; I mean, before, it was merely reckless and dangerous, but now that he put a little more thought into it, he truly believed THIS would do him in.
It would be one thing if he had Glacia beside him because, in the worst-case scenario, not only could she pull him back to the safety and warmth of the cave, but she could also, at the very least, drag him to the spot he had in mind.
"I…hah…swear…this better…HUFF, WORK!" Pushing on, Aoni leaned forward until SPLAT! he landed face first atop the snow bank, spread eagle as if he were about to make a snow angel.
’me and my stupid ideas, now what, dumb ass, do you believe yourself to BE a sled? Are you trying to identify as a block of wood with swords strapped to your belly!’ Berating himself mentally, the lad felt his body sinking into the snow, so he quickly spread himself out further, allowing his body to rest atop the several-foot-deep snow.
Curiously enough, upon realizing that his plan seemed to work, he remembered a specific tool people had been using for thousands of years and almost felt like crying because he had taken the HARDER of two routes.

’Fucking…god…damn…snowshoes!’
Now look, it wasn’t that Aoni was stupid, okay, maybe a little bit, but given how his entire life was being thrown at him in the form of one fastball followed by a curveball and a literal fuck ton of decisions all at once, certain things may slip his mind from time to time.
The simple means of transportation happened to be one of them, considering his primary concern at the time of making the sled was actually the bitter cold outside and making speedy trips.
Had he been able to withstand the freezing temperatures for a prolonged period, then maybe Aoni would have concluded that he could just make some snow shoes; after all, he had the resources to do so, however given the fact that up until recently, even staying outside longer than 10 minutes proved dangerous, it wasn’t exactly intelligent to WALK AROUND FOR HOURS!
’Fuck it, I will worry about that later; for now, swim…’ Shaking his head and accidentally getting some snow in his nose, Aoni sneezed softly before wiggling his body like a worm and sliding his arms and legs around until…one inch…two….ONE FOOT, FIVE! His body rapidly accelerated like a penguin, and he took off down the mountain slope!
This was step two: get equidistant from the platform as the size of the platform itself, and as the lad spun around on his back, his eyes locked onto the fading mountain peak, where his home resided, until he believed himself to be far enough away, and pumped the breaks.
Or, in this case, he used what little strength he had to stab his arms and legs into the snow!
"Ahh…HURTS…COLD…DAMN…IT...ALLL!" Feeling as if his limbs were going to snap due to the rapid loss of momentum, Aoni had finally reached the third and final step of his idiotic plan and…
’INCREASE MY MOTHER FUCKING RANK POTENTIAL!’ he screamed the upgrade command into his mind, instantly receiving the response he was hoping for.
