Legendary Traveler: By Earning Progress Points I will Become Supreme!-Chapter 79: Red And Orange
Standing in place, with his left hand completely covering his face, Aoni felt the urge to not only break some shit but cry his ass off because, as it stands, the hooks of both Vestr and Austr were so dull now, they couldn’t properly do their job.
And that’s only considering the sharpness of the hook swords and not the damage they had sustained from constant overuse. Between the scratches and dings in the two weapons, unless Aoni did something about it soon, the two were prone to breaking the first time he attempted to use the hook for its proper use.
So the fact that his 7th and final grey summon was a circular saw blade annoyed Aoni to no end.
Sensing the mood of her Lord hitting rock bottom, Glacia, being the good girl she was, reached up and patted his head several times while cooing at him until she saw the lad straighten up with fire in his eyes.
"It’s fine, I’m fine, " Aoni said, cracking his knuckles and pushing all the dark thoughts out of his mind. He focused on what he could change instead of the mistakes of the past, and with a wave of his hand, the Red and Orange orbs moved from their original position into the one formerly held by the grey orbs.
"This is where we will DEFINITELY get some new friends, Glacia," Reaching forward and making a twisting gesture with his left hand, the Red orb moved.
"GAO!" Throwing her arms up in excitement, Glacia perked up and stared intently at the Red orb as it floated toward her Lord’s hand and shattered into motes of light.
’Just be something useful, and not something I could have used a week ago,’ feeling the sweat trickle down the back of his neck, Aoni stood strong as a gust of Energia Wind battered him for a moment and revealed….
Another node stone.
"Well…let’s not get too upset," walking around the remaining orbs and picking the stone up, Aoni noticed its inscription was far different than the one he had gotten earlier.
|--_--| (Something like that)
This time around, it depicted three boxes in a straight line, and the middle one was significantly lower than the other two. Fortunately, Aoni recognized this one, and his mood instantly cheered up because it was something that could be quite useful in the near future, especially when it came time to work on the Cavern.
| Scanning Node Stone |
| The Node Stone has been Identified |
| Node Stone of Terrain Manipulation: Flatten ☆☆ |
Although he didn’t need the information and could already anticipate what the notifications would say, Aoni’s eyes still scanned the contents of the text boxes, making him give a short nod.
While the Flatten Node was relatively common to find on the market, that by no means meant it was cheap because its ability was extremely useful to both new and seasoned Travelers.
Upon crushing it, a Lord would be able to…well, Flatten specific lots of land, making them perfectly even ground for construction.
The fact that he was able to get one not only early in his career but also for free was quite a boon for Aoni because now he wouldn’t have to worry about the uneven ground near the Cavern’s lake.

"OoOoo?" Curious as ever, Glacia leaned forward to look at the strange, smooth red rock in Aoni’s hand, causing him to hold it up for her observation.
"It’s good stuff, even if it’s only at The Two-Star Null Grade; we can clear out a 50 by 50-foot plot of land for construction. But I have bigger plans for it." Wearing a cheesy smirk, Aoni was already getting ahead of himself, plotting out how long he should upgrade the Node before using it.
Seeing as Nodes were technically chargeable, and thus anyone could increase their Steps to Full-Star so long as they used enough Energia, it wasn’t that big of a deal that the Node was only 2-Stars; however he was different; by using points, it was entirely possible that one day he could level the entire mountain and make a huge city, not that he would though.
Following what he had done with the first Node stone, Aoni placed it on the top shelf and returned to his spot; however, unlike before, this time, he not only sat down on the floor in front of the two remaining orbs but also placed Glacia in his lap, confusing the ball of fluff…but the moment he began petting her, she stopped caring about the reason.
"This is it, only two left; the Orange will yield something with a Grade of 3-Stars…while the Sapphire, 6-Stars."
*Inhale* *Exhale*
"All or nothing; if we were ever going to get a being, it would be off these two." Closing his eyes and petting Glacia’s silky fur for comfort, Aoni calmed his mind for a few minutes before finally opening them and reaching for the Orange Orb.
C…CRACK!
In contrast to the other times he had crushed an orb, this time, he was required to exert more force, and upon shattering, the Orange Orb emitted a sound akin to glass breaking before transforming into motes of light and shooting toward the Flume.
Instead of the familiar flash he had grown accustomed to with all the other summons he had done today, this time, it was different. In an overwhelming display, the flash grew so intense that Aoni covered his eyes with one hand and those of Glacia with his other.
At the same time, a blustery wind kicked up around him, and if the lad didn’t know any better, he’d completely believe a snowstorm was occurring within his humble abode.
Yet, even as his body was assaulted from the front by this wind, the lad broke into a wide smile, and based on the shuffling floof in his lap, she too was getting excited; something was coming, something that wasn’t merely an item.
"Look’s like you’re a big sister now, Glacia; remember to treat your younger sibling with care and love." Dropping his hands, Aoni caught sight of the Orange light fading away and revealing a small silhouette. Read exclusive content at novelbuddy
