Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System-Chapter 57: Important Questions Answered
Is the author a literati?
First of all, I want to say that being a literati and having a literati complex are two different things. Secondly, the idea that I am a literati is a huge misunderstanding.
When I write every novel, I aim to serve the readers. During this process, I often pursue a particular moment’s atmosphere, which might be different from novels you’ve read before. To create that atmosphere as much as possible, I often revise a Chapter repeatedly.
However, in the conclusion and the fate of the characters, I have always pursued a beautiful ending, a beautiful fate. Because I personally can’t stand tragedies.
Regarding the strength of skills?
Actually, in yesterday’s updated Chapter, the strength of the skills has been roughly written. Some readers asked, if the strength is so strong, what if it collapses?
I can understand this worry, but this is using the traditional fantasy novel mold to judge my book. In all the books I’ve written, they’ve never collapsed due to the protagonist’s abilities being too strong, and this book won’t be an exception.
Because I don’t use the traditional fantasy novel mindset of upgrading skills to conceive this novel at all. It’s actually easy to understand; there are just too many skills in the human skill pool, and illuminating all the common skills requires a big enough scope. Even stepping back ten thousand steps, if you lit up all the skills, it wouldn’t collapse, because it’s not that kind of upgrade skill system, how could there be a collapse without combat power?
Regarding romance
I must admit one thing here, I have revised the outline. The specific issue of who the female protagonist is, when she appears, or whether she appears at all, cannot be revealed for now.
There must be a beauty, in my opinion, an urban novel without a decent female protagonist is like the West without Jerusalem.
Some friends say there must be solo travel. In fact, in the planning, solo travel, and pets, these elements are present, and they have quite a large scope. However, ultimately, everything will return to being warm.
I can understand the leisure some friends are pursuing, but in my opinion, solo travel, while leisurely, lacks warmth and emotional intensity. If you can’t accept a female protagonist setting, I can only say sorry!
Does the author listen to advice?
I’m an old hand at writing, I’ve fallen into many pitfalls in writing, character development, and story progression—these things add up to experience.
I can understand some readers are suggesting improvements for the good of the book, but some viewpoints from the reader’s perspective might not align with the needs of the majority, this is something I can grasp myself.
Still, I am an author serving the readers, but I can only serve the majority. Most readers won’t voice their opinions. There might be some details or settings that don’t suit everyone’s taste, but that’s inevitable.
Moreover, an author’s knowledge base can’t possibly be omniscient, I’ve also read many books by other authors that are quite good, until they started writing about fields I’m familiar with, some awkwardness would emerge due to the author’s limitations.
I’ve tried hard to gather information, trying not to make common-sense mistakes, but if I do make mistakes, please be lenient with me, no need to chase me down with criticism.
Does being leisurely mean not showing off?
No, in my view, if online novels don’t show off, it’s like live streaming eating cement. I never consider leisure and showing off to be opposing concepts.
I also understand some readers imagine the book should have a protagonist like an otherworldly expert, pursuing inner peace, seeking a peculiar atmosphere—as soon as there’s a bit of passion, it seems to destroy that atmosphere...
I’m really sorry, but I can’t write a novel like that, no matter the type of novel, without conflict and tension, it’s impossible to keep writing. And during this process, you must showcase, this is an online novel, a web novel.
Again, I must serve the greatest common denominator! I will add some appropriate exciting plot points in upcoming plots, then see everyone’s reactions before considering how to arrange this part of the plot.
Writing as the thoughts come, I’ll temporarily answer these questions, if there are other questions, you can post them below this Chapter, I’ll organize them and consider whether to open a single Chapter to respond later. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
