Chapter 1209: Chapter 1208 Stay Tuned
“Okay, I know, with Shaoting here, I feel at ease too. I’ll head back first and come visit you when I have some free time.” Song Can thought about how he wasn’t much help being there and might even disturb her rest, so he decided to leave.
“No need to come over again, I expect to be discharged soon.” Shu Pan said with a slight smile, now feeling as though her mother-in-law was like her own mother.
Shu Pan had never imagined their relationship could be so harmonious and their interaction so good.
“I’ll see how it goes and cook you some premium fish maw soup when you get back; I heard it’s excellent for the stomach,” Song Can said.
“Thank you in advance, Mom,” Shu Pan gratefully responded.
“What’s there to thank between us, you silly girl?” Song Can said, a bit annoyed but laughing.
Gu Shaoting stood aside, feeling a bit superfluous.
It seemed he couldn’t quite fit into the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law bond.
However, he felt relieved knowing they got along well; it made the home more harmonious and spared him from being caught in the middle.
“Mom, let me walk you out,” Gu Shaoting offered as he saw Song Can preparing to leave.
“What, you want me to leave that badly? Wanting some alone time with Panpan, huh? You brat, don’t you realize where we are?” Song Can glared at him, showing no pleasant expression.
Unable to help himself, Gu Shaoting rolled his eyes and said, exasperated, “Mom, what are you thinking?”
He knew she wasn’t saying anything pleasant.
“Alright, alright, I know I’m being annoying; I’m leaving right now,” Song Can said, sounding a bit petulant.
Then, without looking at Gu Shaoting, she smiled at Shu Pan and left.
Gu Shaoting helplessly glanced at Shu Pan, “Why is Mom acting like a child now? Also, why does she dislike me so much?”
“Maybe you should show her more attention from now on. You’re often not at home; it’s no wonder she’s upset with you,” Shu Pan said with a smile.
“Naughty,” Gu Shaoting lightly teased, nudging Shu Pan’s nose, “Come on, eat some congee now; the doctor will be here soon.”
“Okay, let’s eat together; Mom brought a lot,” Shu Pan said, opening the food container, and they began their meal.
“By the way, go back to your work tomorrow. I can manage the check-ups and injections by myself.” Shu Pan thought about how he hadn’t been to his company for several days and couldn’t help worrying, hoping nothing major had gone wrong.
“No worries, don’t fret.” Gu Shaoting said nonchalantly.
Seeing his calmness, Shu Pan finally felt a bit more at ease.
“For now, just focus on getting well, don’t think about anything else. Once you’re better, I’ll take you on a world tour,” Gu Shaoting said earnestly, looking at her.
Shu Pan was momentarily taken aback, somewhat surprised.
This workaholic actually saying such things was incredible.
Shu Pan slightly curved her lips in a smile, “Okay, we’ll talk about that later.”
She didn’t believe him at all; it was one thing to say now, but once work picked up, it would be a different story.
Gu Shaoting paused, grimacing with a wry smile, realizing how little trust he held in Shu Pan’s heart.
It seemed he really had neglected his family.

But he made no attempt to correct her, instead opting to wait and see.
They were almost done with their meal when suddenly Gu Shaoting’s phone rang.
The ringtone pierced the room’s silence; Gu Shaoting looked at the caller, He Ming.
He stood up and pressed the answer button.
“Brother Ting, help me!” He Ming’s voice sounded urgently from the phone.
