Chapter 1214: Chapter 1213: Meeting Bai Lan Again, Becoming Friends
After He Ming and Ye Xiaomeng left, Shu Pan had also eaten her fill.
“How about we go for a walk outside,” Gu Shaoting suggested, seeing that the sunlight outside was nice.
“Alright.” Shu Pan felt she was almost growing moldy.
Gu Shaoting took a jacket for her to wear and then took her hand as they walked outside.
The warm sunlight fell on her, feeling cozy.
From a distance, Shu Pan saw a familiar figure sitting not far away, with their back to them.
Seeing Shu Pan stop, Gu Shaoting asked, “What’s wrong? Do you see someone you know?”
He involuntarily looked forward as well.
“Yes, a friend I met once before.” Shu Pan explained.
“Then I’ll walk you over there so you two can chat. I’ll go back to change my clothes,” Gu Shaoting thought it unnecessary to intrude on a conversation between women.
“Okay.” Shu Pan nodded her head and then walked toward the figure.
“Bai Lan…” Shu Pan’s voice slowly rose from behind.

Turning around at the sound, Bai Lan caught sight of Shu Pan, her eyes flickering momentarily before she smiled and said, “Shu Pan, you are out, and who…?”
Although Bai Lan had some guess, she still asked instinctively.
“Oh, I forgot to introduce him. This is my husband, Gu Shaoting. Shaoting, this is my newly met friend, Bai Lan,” Shu Pan introduced.
After exchanging greetings, Gu Shaoting left under the pretext of having something to do.
Once he was gone, Bai Lan pulled Shu Pan to sit down, “How are you feeling? A bit better?”
“Yes, the results are better than what I imagined. I should be discharged next week. What about you?” Shu Pan asked with concern.
“I could be discharged at any time. It’s an old issue for me. It’s the men at home who are anxious, so they won’t let me leave,” Bai Lan said with a light smile.
“He is also caring about you, for your own good,” Shu Pan observed her calm expression and somewhat downbeat tone and responded accordingly.
“Maybe, but people always want more,” Bai Lan commented, “By the way, do you work?”
“Not currently, I’m a full-time housewife,” Shu Pan shook her head.
“That’s great. I used to be a music teacher, but I’m resting at home due to my health now. We could meet up for tea or shopping,” Bai Lan suddenly perked up.
Zhou Shengting is usually very busy, oftentimes not at home, and their son attends a boarding school, coming home only once a week, so Bai Lan usually feels bored.
“Sure, that would be wonderful.” Shu Pan was very happy, as she originally didn’t have many friends and felt Bai Lan was easy to get along with.
“Your husband seems dependable and responsible. You are fortunate,” Bai Lan remarked.
“Not too bad. We also went through many hardships before we ended up together. I’ll have a chance to tell you about it sometime,” Shu Pan felt that her story with Gu Shaoting could probably fill an afternoon.
“Sure, we could share our stories with each other in the future,” Bai Lan said with a smile, as she and Zhou Shengting had another story to tell.
Their story was not as smooth as others might think, full of ups and downs.
The two felt an instant connection and chatted for a long time.
Gu Shaoting came back to take her back to the ward only later.
“What were you two chatting about so enthusiastically?” Gu Shaoting asked.
“Not telling you,” Shu Pan responded with a smile.
“It wasn’t anything bad about me, was it?” Gu Shaoting jokingly said.
“Do you have anything bad?” Shu Pan asked him squarely.
Gu Shaoting playfully scraped her nose with his hand, “What about me don’t you know?”
“Rascal.”
