LEVEL 0 IMMORTAL-Chapter 108: You Are In A Hall of Ice
This state that Elias found himself in, where everything had gone still, and yet his mind remained active, and the state of his body was strange and yet familiar, almost similar to that of his Ageless Echo inside his Lumina Space. He would not be surprised if this was an enhanced application of that power, yet again, Elias had to focus his mind as he caught himself drifting into thoughts that were not beneficial to the situation.
In the heat of the battle, he had not forgotten the presence of the Commander, but he also knew that for an Angel as powerful as she was, it was extremely easy for her to leave him to die if he fell short of her expectations.
What would a mere child of eighteen be seen as in the eyes of a person who had lived for thousands of years?
It was not as if he had not heard her words, but it was because he did that he found his mind wandering. The most important decision he would ever make in his life, the Commander could not have said those words lightly.
Even when he was given the Vitality Absorption technique that aided him in the opening of a hundred pools, it did not seem as important to the Commander, but whatever she wanted to present to him next was deemed far more important.
Elias hesitated for a moment, and he responded inside his head, "I accept your teachings, and I am ready to know the path forward."
The voice of the Commander inside his head sighed, "Good, then come with me."
Elias gasped as he felt a pulling sensation inside his head, and he appeared inside a grand hall of ice. At the far end of the hall was a massive throne of Ice, and the Commander was standing in front of the throne.
He looked around in confusion before looking down at his body, and he saw that his appearance appeared hazy, but was covered by a faint purple flame.
"I drew your Wisp to my throne," the Commander’s voice drew Elias’s attention back to her, "I am impressed that it is as strong as this, even at the level of a Wisp. Step forward, Elias, it is time to learn of the path you would be walking."
Elias took a step, and his body blurred forward until he was standing before the Commander, whom he noted appeared the same as she was in real life. If this was her Wisp form, then it must mean he was inside her Lumina Space. Elias fought the urge to look around and focus firmly on the Commander.
As much as he would love to satisfy his curiosity, he knew that he should focus on this moment above all else, or suffer a lifetime of regret. The words from the Commander were like gold, and he would be foolish not to take everything she was saying as gospel.
"As I have suspected, you must have multiple Talents, as your Armament cannot be responsible for everything you can do. However, I shall not ask you for what the other talent is; that secret is yours to keep. I have observed you, and I believe that you are worthy of this power."
Elias swallowed, and he bowed, as expected. It was impossible for him to deceive the eyes of the Commander, but it seemed he had displayed enough potential that, for now, it was better for him to be nurtured than to be destroyed.
"You were on the verge of Mist Phantom when I stopped you, because there is a hidden condition that should be satisfied before you can be deemed perfect. Unfortunately for most, this condition can only be given by a higher power, and the rest would have to make do with a pale imitation."
The Commander walked towards Elias, then walked past him, and he turned to follow her, his eyes looking around at the hall, and he nearly swallowed in surprise when he saw that the other end of the frozen hall could not be seen, as it seemed to extend for miles until he could barely perceive it.
He tried not to gape in astonishment as the Commander gestured and the ground rumbled before a small altar of ice arose from the frozen ground.
On this Altar were three glowing objects, one was in the shape of a sphere and glowed like a crimson sun, the other was in the shape of a scroll, and yet, this scroll seemed to be cut out of darkness, or something even deeper than that, it was as if Elias was looking at the void, and he felt something in him pulse as he saw that scroll, dragging his eyes away from the scroll with difficulty, he looked at the last object and it was just a stone.
There seemed to be nothing special about this stone, and it could have been picked from the roadside; however, Elias took another look at the stone when he noticed faint lines that seemed random, but Elias’s memories were perfect... these lines were similar to what he had seen on the Stone Blade.
Elias had found this Stone Blade in the Desert, and at that time, it was covered by the Green Swarm. He had gained power over the Swarm when he recited the words on that blade, and now this stone possessed similar markings to the blade.
If he did not have great control over his features, Elias would have been giddy with joy at finding such an unexpected discovery, but his eyes simply rolled past the stone and looked at the Commander who had been observing him.
"How does a Siphon grow in power?" she suddenly asked. Elias hesitated a moment before he answered, "A Siphon consumes the Lumina of the slain and uses it to enhance their Lumina Pools. Every successive enhancement of the pools gives access to points of Miracle or Condemnation that can be used to enhance the body. At a certain point, the Siphon would reach a bottleneck, and if they break through, they gain access to a higher stage. At higher stages, more powers can be gained by the Siphon as they move from mere mortals to divinity."
The Commander nodded, "That is a good answer, but it is not enough. What other ways do Siphons increase their power? Without weapons, tools, or their talent, what else is needed to increase the power of a Siphon?"
Elias closed his eyes for a moment. It was a tricky question, but he expected that the Commander was asking him because he should have an idea about what it was. He went through his memories, and then his eyes blinked as he thought he might have figured out the answer,
"Is it Lumina Vein Arts?" he asked, not entirely sure that he was correct, and the Commander nodded in satisfaction, "Good, you remembered. Lumina Vein Arts are the foundations of a Siphon, and they are extremely important. It would take me years to teach you everything I know about them, and it would take you the rest of your life to understand them for yourselves."
She gestured to the three glowing objects in front of them, "These are seeds of Lumina Vein Arts, and they are the hidden requirements that must be completed before your Fury Forge Stage is deemed perfect and your foundation is seamless."
