LEVEL 0 IMMORTAL-Chapter 124: You Complete Your First Test
Elias had just killed a Siphon at the Mist Phantom level who had undergone Veil Fracture, and he had done it quite easily, but there was no pride in his eyes, he understood that this Flesh Mauler should have been using a Common Grade Lumina Art, and his foundation must not have been very solid, not even adding the fact that the Flesh Mauler must not have had a talent.
Just because he scraped the bottom of the barrel to kill a Mist Phantom did not mean he had become extremely powerful, and he could imagine how his battle would be if it were against a Mist Phantom who had a heaven-grade Lumina Art.
The ease with which he had killed the mutated Siphon was more than enough evidence for him to know how dangerous a higher order Lumina Art was, and with the growth in his Vitality from consuming the blood of the Flesh Mauler, he could only imagine what other surprises was waiting in store for him, or what sort of powers would other Siphons gain from their art.
Elias perused the rest of his Status, noting that while his strength was still the lowest of his attributes, it had also grown dramatically, and now he had a trait attached to it, Giant Muscles.
Clenching his fist, he could feel the strength in his body, and he could imagine that this was truly the strength of a giant.
All of the traits accompanying his stats had also changed, becoming better versions of what they previously were. Now he had Advanced Reflexes for his Agility, Dense Flesh for his Durability, Sight Awakening for his Perception, Sovereign Will for his Will, and Triple Legacy Synergy for his Esoteric stat.
All of these traits combined granted him a body that defied meaning, and Elias could not help but acknowledge that he might not be the strongest Fury Forge out there, but he should be well on the way to becoming one. Master Yseult should be the best judge of this.
Nothing had changed about his Status screen, but for one important detail that had been added at the end of each of the legacies inside him, and that was a Vein Completion bar.
As Elias had suspected, his Fury Forged body was not complete, and it was an ongoing process, and looking at each completion rate, for each legacies, he was not surprised that Crimson Veil Dominion Art had grown by one percent, as he had used this legacy during the battle and he had not touched the Art of Stone, mostly because he did not have any armor on his body.
What was noteworthy was the completion rate for his Void Scripture, which was at 0.00003%, but as he watched it, the number changed to 0.00004%, and Elias finally realized that this was the usage of Paradox Vessel.
Swallowing the Flesh Mauler may have denied him a lot of Lumina and other unexpected benefits, but it gave him the possibility to complete the vein for the Void Scripture.
These veins were very important; without them, Elias would not be able to properly wield the power of his Art at the Mist Phantom level and above.
From the Commander’s explanation about those without cores having only twenty percent linkage with their Lumina Pool, Elias could guess that he might not need the Vein Completion to reach a hundred percent before he pushed for the Mist Phantom level, but why would he want to follow such an uneven path?
No matter what her faults may be, Commander Yseult had given him the chance to have a perfect foundation, and Elias would be damned if he was going to spoil that foundation because of impatience and stupidity. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
The last thing of note on his Status Screen and undoubtedly the most important was his Void Incursion. What this was, or the form it might take, was still unknown to him, but his master considered this to be very important, so important that so many pieces had been put together just for him to have the opportunity of becoming an Ascendant Candidate.
Elias opened his eyes as he felt a wave of power descend behind him. Now that he was a Fury Forge, and his perception had gained the Sight Awakening trait, his sensitivity to supernatural forces had increased, and the Commander landing behind him felt as if an entire mountain range of ice was standing behind him.
This vast difference between the energy he could feel inside of him and the Commander shook Elias to the core, and he wondered if this was what thousands of years of life could lead to. What made this even more frightening was that he was aware that this was just a small part of her strength, and as a Fury Forge, he was hardly seeing the entirety of her aura.
"So, my little immortal, you survived," her cold voice sounded, and Elias turned around, and he bowed towards her.
"I am sorry, master, for my greed and disobedience. I see now that my survival was purely by chance and sheer luck. I shall be much more careful in the future."
Commander Yseult arched a perfect eyebrow, "Interesting, so the child can be taught. Good, there are many things you do not yet know about the life you are about to enter, and I shall do my best to teach and guide you," she paused, "But you are also correct, and this is your life, and your fate is yours to control. I am your Master, but I do not control you, my purpose is to guide you, but whatever path you take is up to you, and unless you go against my core principle or harm my interest, I shall support you to the best of my ability."
Elias bowed more deeply, "I am not worthy of such graces, Master, and I thank you for them."
The Commander smiled, "I know you are smart enough to know that the reason you are being treated so favorably by me is not just because of your talent, but because of something you can do for me... your Void Incursion. This is the last important task before you, and if it is done, then everything I gave you before now would be doubled as repayment for the success of this task."
Elias sucked in a deep breath in surprise, "Master, what do..."
"BOOM!"
A mighty tremor erupted from deep in the ground that shook the earth for hundreds of miles and sent the entire forest shaking.
The Commander sighed, "Six hundred years have passed, and the oasis would be destroyed today. Perhaps if my disciple were stronger..." She suddenly stopped talking, and her voice deepened, "Our time here is done, and your first test is over. We are leaving."
Elias suddenly felt a sense of weightlessness, and his body zoomed into the air, and when he looked around, he found the woman who had escaped from the clearing filled with bodies, and he had briefly talked to.
She was passed out and was floating beside him, and he realized that the Commander must have saved her when he was fighting the Flesh Mauler, or she would have been crushed by the shockwaves from their battle despite her being a Fury Forge.
